**What do you like best about Simcenter 3D?**

Simcenter 3D is easy to pick up, especially if you’re already familiar with Siemens NX. It integrates smoothly with existing tools and workflows, making it simple to adopt without disrupting established processes. The platform continues to evolve with enhanced multiphysics simulation capabilities, improved automation tools, and stronger support for digital twin and model-based engineering workflows. It’s packed with features that work well whether you're just getting started or you're an experienced analyst, offering intuitive guided workflows alongside advanced customization options when needed.

Setting it up is pretty straightforward, particularly for organizations already using the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio. Recent improvements in cloud connectivity, simulation process automation, and high-performance computing support have made it even easier to manage large and complex simulation projects. The customer support remains solid, with responsive assistance, comprehensive documentation, active user communities, and plenty of helpful learning resources online. You'll find yourself using it frequently because it handles a wide range of structural, thermal, motion, acoustics, and CFD simulations while making even complex engineering challenges more manageable. The addition of AI-assisted workflows, enhanced visualization tools, and improved simulation data management further strengthens its value across the product development lifecycle.

There are still a few areas where Simcenter 3D could improve. It reduced physical prototyping for me as we can simulate it simcenter 3D softeare. I worked for fluid dynamics so it was very benificial for me that time to reduce my extra efforts of making a physical prototype and testing it.

The helpful aspects of simcenter 3D is its strong integration of CAD and CAE within single environment, which significantly improves the overall engineering workflow. The advanced meshing capabilites and solver integration help achieve accurate results while reducing preprocessing time

The Simcenter 3D has a steep learning curve for new users it is one of the challenging points to adopt the software. Some workflows and settings can feel complex initially, requiring proper training and experience to use the software efficiently. The interface is powerful but sometimes feel overloaded.

**What problems is Simcenter 3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simcenter 3D helps solve important business challenges related to product validation, devlopment cost reduction, and faster engineering decision making. **What do you like best about Simcenter 3D?**

Although simcenter 3d proves to be the one of the best CAD simulation software, based on my experience of gearbox and rotating machinery design, the new update that is Simcenter 3D 2506 comes with an updated bearing modelling defination which allows us to define bearing mounting conditions very precisely, this along with improved visualization tools helps us to minimize time required for validating the bearing conditions and produce more refined results. The welding for seam as well as spot welding in CAD models have improved significantly, which produce better results. Although I haven't used it yet but the improvement in computation of asymmetric assemblies looks promising as well.

**What do you dislike about Simcenter 3D?**

As a mechanical engineer using Simcenter 3D for analysis of multistage planetary gearbox and complex rotary machines, it would be very usefull if there is a dedicated workflow for this particular use case, maybe a template that is tailor made for this particular sector. Secondly there could be a significant improvement with could based solving methods to save time and local resource. Lastly I have been working with REVIT software for a bit and I would highly appriciate if we can import and automatically convert the BIM geometries for simulations.

**What problems is Simcenter 3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SimCentre 3D finds extensive application in mechanical engineering for virtual testing and analysis. It aids in simulating mechanical components and systems, evaluating their structural integrity, thermal performance, and dynamic behavior. **What do you like best about Simcenter 3D?**

What I like most about Simcenter 3D is that everything is integrated into a single environment. I can go from geometry preparation to meshing and then straight into simulation without constantly switching between tools. The pre- and post-processing features are very strong, especially for complex structural and thermal analyses, and the visualization helps me understand the results quickly.

It also handles large, detailed models smoothly, which saves a lot of time on real engineering projects. Overall, it feels robust and precise, and it comes across as a tool built for serious simulation work.

**What do you dislike about Simcenter 3D?**

One thing I find challenging about Simcenter 3D is its steep learning curve. The interface is very powerful, but it can feel overwhelming at first because of the sheer number of options and settings. Some workflows also aren’t as intuitive as they could be, so new users may need proper training before they can work efficiently.

It can be resource-intensive as well—large models often require strong hardware to run smoothly. On top of that, licensing and module management can sometimes feel complex, depending on the setup. Overall, it’s a very capable tool, but it isn’t always the easiest to learn and master.

**What problems is Simcenter 3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simcenter 3D helps me address the challenge of validating designs before anything is physically built. Rather than relying on trial-and-error prototypes, I can simulate structural strength, vibration, thermal behavior, and other performance factors early in the design stage. This reduces costly rework and helps shorten development time.

It also makes it easier to spot weak points or potential failure risks that aren’t always obvious from CAD models alone. Since everything is integrated—geometry, meshing, solving, and post-processing—it keeps the process in one place, streamlines the workflow, and supports more consistent accuracy.

For me, the biggest benefit is confidence. I can make design decisions based on data, optimize performance, and reduce risk, while also saving time and material costs.

**What do you like best about Simcenter 3D?**

The ability to deal smoothly with complex simulations with improved performance and stability is one of the new features of Simcenter 3D that I like very much. The enhanced working cycles and closer connection of modeling, simulation, and review of the results make the process more intuitive and quicker. I also like the fact that it has a higher level of visualization which assist with analyzing designs more precisely without frequent tool switching.

**What do you dislike about Simcenter 3D?**

The performance of Simcenter 3D can be developed further with optimization of performance of very large or complicated models because simulations might be resource-consuming. Also, it would be desirable to have improved automation and out-of-the-box templates of common simulation scenarios to accelerate repetitive analysis jobs.

Visualizing the entire machine on the workstation is really helpful. The real wow factor is the animation of the whole system, which makes it easier to analyze the operation and performance.
