"The gold standard for private, secure, and bloat-free communication."

What do you like best about Signal?

The industry-standard end-to-end encryption is the biggest draw for me. Unlike other "secure" apps, Signal is open-source and operated by a non-profit, which removes the profit motive from my personal data. The UI is clean, the desktop sync is seamless, and the "disappearing messages" feature is handled much more intuitively than its competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Signal?

The biggest hurdle remains the "network effect." It is often difficult to convince less tech-savvy clients or colleagues to switch over from WhatsApp or Telegram. Additionally, while the call quality has improved significantly, it can still be slightly less stable than some of the larger, resource-heavy enterprise platforms during low-bandwidth situations.
