**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Formatting (similar to excel), ease of use, short learning curve.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Speed is a huge problem. Some additional visualization options and input for features would be appreciated.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with reporting recurring questions by setting up charts that are accessible to all.

  ### 2. It's simple to read and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I like the visualizations and how easy I can obtain the data I want

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

sometimes it's slow and could not show results immediately and cannot connect with the database

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma helped me with daily/weekly metrics tracking and visualizing the change. Also, it can send the result to our slack channel so that I don't need to type in the channel by myself and everybody can see. It saved a lot of time

  ### 3. Sigma Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2022

Easy to navigate each dashboard that you need

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Very very slow at times, dashboards seeem to break easily

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My day to day issues of having to search. I am able to find my answers.

  ### 4. Sigma FTW

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt S. | Data Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I like how easy it is to blend different discrete data sources without having to code. We use this in connection to our Snowflake database. The speed of the analysis is great and is a nice mix of fully governed data and free analysis.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Actually, not a whole lot stands out as negative. I would like there to be a little more analytical features out of the box. Maybe some simple trending or statistical processes.

**Recommendations to others considering Sigma:**

This is a great tool. We've been able to implement and have our users create useful insights all in under a week.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The most significant benefit is allowing people to explore data and blend their data into the database without BI/Data personnel. They can explore and add in their own formulas, making it almost a truly self service soultion.

  ### 7. An on-cloud analytics tool

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Varun T. | Business Insights Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

It is entirely on the cloud. Big data seems easy here.
I used to get many issues while loading 30-40 million rows in Power BI and Tableau. But this seems easy here as strong cloud computing capacities back the tool.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

The features of the tool don't catch the eye while doing any work on it. The interface is not engaging at all. It required much practice to get familiarity with this tool, unlike Tableau and Power BI.

**Recommendations to others considering Sigma:**

If you work with the extensive size data, then it will be a great help to you.
All the best!

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am helping my senior leadership team to review the business at one catch by consolidating all the data together and making insightful business reports across different dimensions of the company.

  ### 8. Sigma Review

It's visualizing data for our marketing team and giving us a platform to easily search for leads.

Still requires a fair amount of SQL skillset

Data transparency across the company

  ### 10. A reasonably good dashboarding tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can track and visualize key metrics easily

  ### 11. Useful software for quick dashboarding

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

It's relatively fast, comprehensive and I like the element design

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Lacks formatting capabilities, especially in the mapping visualizations

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Build quick dashboards

  ### 12. On the path to success

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alia A. | Senior Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Sigma enables easier access to Snowflake data and is simple to use. Instead of sudden failures like we experienced in Power BI, we can see query times increase or exceed standards while making the reports, enabling us to correct inefficient queries without downtime. Our use case is application embedding, and they have a roadmap to improve support.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Sigma doesn't yet have all the UI features I'd like to see. We can't match our mockups and sometimes need to build custom components when I'd really like to just adjust the CSS on their charts. We also haven't solved the "report on data in file folders" problem, which is probably more of a Snowflake ingestion issue, but our users interface with Sigma, so they feel the issue there. Their roadmap has a lot of major features I'm eagerly awaiting. Don't expect to have everything you want right now, but do expect frequent releases with new features.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Sigma to build reporting for our customers and place it in our application. Using Sigma, we can update those reports quickly and easily, rather than a slow process of building custom-coded reports. Also, some features next year will enable a semi-custom reporting solution without an expensive build-out by us. Just a couple of changes on permissioning, and we have a massive new feature for our customers.

  ### 13. Sigma Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I really like the feature where you can create child elements from one sql source which makes everything load faster. Coming from chartio, every time you had to make a new graph it needed to rerun the query really bogging down the whole thing

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

contrary to what i really like, I wish the parameters could run off of their queries. It feels silly sometimes to have to make a query to pull what i want my drop down menu to have and then make a parameter from that and then hide the original query. I would really also love to see a transpose function for charts. Right now im making pivot tables which is a work around but it is somewhat janky to do it that way

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One main problem that has been solved is realiability and speed. Chartio would often times not run so that is amazing. The way we can display data is really great too, and love the built in map feature that updates in real time instead of going to other websites like kepler.gl (althought you guys should copy some maps features from them)

  ### 14. Quick and easy. Still some functionality the leaves the experience short of Tableau.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Sigma taps into our database super quickly and has dramatically reduced the time to business insights. As a Marketer, we used to rely completely on a team that needed to write SQL to pull the data I can now pull with Sigma. The user interface is pretty intuitive and works seamlessly. I also really liked the user onboarding seminar Sigma did with our company – putting real examples in front of us with our data.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

I don't like how limited calculated fields are. The level of detail you can reach with Tableau is lacking with Sigma. e.g., LOD calculations, row calculations, and some of the visualization customizations. It did also take a while for our team to get the product up and running to a point where someone who has limited SQL knowledge could use it. Things like Tableau Prep that help visualize data before you analyze it are super helpful, where there isn't anything like that available for Sigma as far as I know. There could also be better help resources to explain how to use the product. Maybe a user forum or a video series that explains how to get the most out of Sigma.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to tap into data as a Product Manager where I used to rely on our Analytics team. Faster speed to insights.

  ### 15. Piloting a new BI tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Great customer support and continual product updates with new features and capabilities.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

UI/UX is a bit clunky and not intuitive to navigate if you're used to other BI tools.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is allowing my organization to easily stitch together multiple data sources and also provide end-user BI consumption for non-analyst teammates.

  ### 16. Great product, reasonable price

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Sigma is perfect for my small startup data team as we're trying to get the most insights possible from our SQL database. It works smoothly, is relatively intuitive to use, and the support is really great. It works in a way that is much more intuitive for many business users than almost any other BI tool out there but is also super friendly to customization and complicated builds.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

The pricing is definitely expensive, although for us it is well worth it! If you're not looking to make a significant investment in your BI tool, you might want to look at a cheaper option. It's also early stage, so there are some features they are still working on. But they are very responsive to feedback. The downsides really end there.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are replicating all the insights we had with our previous BI tool, while also adding a bunch more dynamic filtering and investigation to the views we already had on our data. In the future there's lots mroe potential, we're just getting started.

  ### 17. Easy to use powerful BI tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryan K. | Director, Museum Technology

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Easy visualization tool without limitations for more advanced users. Good integration with FiveTran and BigQuery

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Not much yet. We just started exploring but haven't found anything missing.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrating data from two different sources and then visualizing the overlaps.

  ### 18. Fast, scalable, & easy to learn

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Great support and scalability for small internal analytics teams.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Does not currently support python or other scripting languages outside of SQL.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma has helped us scale our internal analytics capabilities to reach all users both technical and non-technical through a fast and easy navigate BI Tool.

  ### 19. sigma is great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

it is very organized and makes work life so much easier. Having so much data at our fingertips literally makes the place run

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

i understand it can be a lot of data to load but it can be kinda slow

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inventory accuracy, receiving accuracy

  ### 20. Sigma is seamless

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

The ability to model data without knowing SQL

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

I thourghoughly enjoy sigma. I think that it does a great job unlocking data for users.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma is helping me unlock measures that would typically take a bit longer to be produced.

  ### 21. The next generation of BI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon H. | Product Management Instructor , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

- Working with millions of rows of data in a very responsive web app.
- Very tight relationship with Snowflake. Snowflake and Sigma are a great combination.
- A fantastic Customer Success team.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

- Still in early development, so it doesn't fit all our needs, but the team listens and has been shipping improvements well
- None that I can think of. It's been an improvement overall.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- A responsive and live window into our Snowflake data warehouse.
- Bringing tools to the business so data is leveraged in decision making across the business.
- Embedding analytics into our software.

  ### 22. Very nice solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Sigma UI is the best and easiest to use.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Nothing to dislike in Sigma, sometimes the reports take time to load

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma is helping me in getting all the desired information on time

  ### 23. Great way to share a report

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

It creates such an easy way to share reports and work with other teams over data reports and to create custom reports on the fly; other teams can easily visualize, modify and export those reports, which is a great help and save a lot of unnecessary report emails

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

It can be a bit slow at times, especially when refreshing big reports, but this issue is to be expected when dealing with large amounts of data, besides that there is not much to complain

**Recommendations to others considering Sigma:**

Read the documentation and try to start creating small reports, once you have the hang of it go big

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing reports with other teams and building custom reports with other teams over a shared spaces, without the need to set up complex projects or send the information back and forth

  ### 24. Decent Web Business Intelligence software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

It seems to run very fast, and can actually both visualize data AND allow for designed data extracts in the same software, unlike the leading software in the space.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

It still needs some work for full financial business intelligence. Certain financials can not be designed on a "sum all" column method. It's hard to replace a software like the old FRx for things like that, but with the proper data design it could be done - but that takes some thinking outside of the box

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving things like major data extracts so that our production environment is not hammered with requests; this is benefitting us so we don't slow down for our core business while allowing further insight into the data, without a substantial speed loss

  ### 25. Amazing tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Restaurants | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

How easy is to find whatever you are looking for.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

The pages with more data are really slow to load.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps our business to keep better track of the inventory.

  ### 26. Best for Data processing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Smooth data pipeline process, Performance of the sigma is very much reliable.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

everything in the tool is so perfect with usability.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data pipeline problem is mainly solved by sigma

  ### 27. User friendly experience with a helpful amount of information

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I love that you can select multiple weeks' worth of data and compare week over week all in the same view. It makes analyzing trends and data points much, much simpler.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

If there are multiple SKUs in one category, you cannot analyze week over week. It adds all the items ordered & sold in the date range selected together, and it can be difficult to know utilization rates for each individual week.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits are immense. Time is saved by analyzing multiple pieces of data all on one page. What's great as well is that it loads quickly and the interface seems to be reliable, as opposed to some I've used before that take loads of time to generate info. Discovering trends and adjusting ordering practices are made easy with Sigma.

  ### 28. Sigma user review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I like how secure it is because it allows me to use SSO to log in. I like combining multiple data sources such as database tables, csv, and Excel files. I love how fast Sigma is to show data and how flexible it is.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

I don't love the way data source joins are done; I know it works very well, but I would prefer to have something more visual and accessible, something that reminds me of the joins I have applied

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using Sigma to create relationships between multiple data sources without having actually to query a database and use complex SQL queries; I can tell that it is always faster to use Sigma instead of query the database directly and create CSV files to work with them on Excel.

  ### 29. Made my job a lot easier.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

The ability to group and automate things.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Some time could be really slow and lags.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grouping my aggregations, save time on my query.

  ### 30. Get tool, but unwieldy for the lay(wo)man

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

It's the type of tool that the more work you do setting it up to its full capabilities, the more you'll get out of it. It houses the most complete form of our customer data.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

It's not user-friendly. Honestly can take several training sessions to master (and to understand table/ sheet headings). We have an entire team developed to working with this data.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Obtaining complete customer data profiles (esp with their product usage) to figure out which ones are good fodder for case studies.
We don't really have another tool we could use to obtain this. This way, we understand customers well before interviewing them for case studies and can ask deeper, more impactful questions to understand their ROI with our solution.

  ### 31. Great tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Ease of Use. The implementation is great

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Visualizations are lacking compared to competitors such as Tableau

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Access to data

  ### 32. Organizational Data Reporting Done Right

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Once you finish putting together a worksheet, you can publish and share it with your team or other departments as shared resources for data analysis. It's a huge time saver!

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

It can be a challenge to get new users spun up on the platform promptly if they are not familiar with using the Sigma tool. The additional learning resources in the help center make this more manageable.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a huge time saver where a worksheet can be created once and shared across different teams to provide quick resoruces for data analysis and presentation for account managers. These data slices can show positive and negative trends over time in easily digestible snippets that facilitate smoother account strategy conversations.

  ### 33. Sigma review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Sigma is very user-friendly and maps out all the data in a way that's very digestible and easy to understand. Data as it is is already pretty confusing to me at times so I appreciate how organized everything is.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

I honestly haven't run into anything about this product that I genuinely dislike! If anything, it would be nice to be able to have better attribution models because as someone who works in organic social media, attribution can be tricky.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma is helping me understand all things data in general! I'm really grateful to be able to use a tool that maps out everything in a succinct and understandable way when there's always so much going on.

  ### 34. Solid way to capture SaaS analytics

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

breakdown of license analytics and associated utilization. allows account managers to highlight areas of strength or opportunities for improvement, both with internal account teams and clients alike

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

At times the ability to quickly distinguish between utilization driven by account team members vs. client team members is limited. Just by virtue of establishing an account to help set up features for the client, we may ultimately be influencing utilization numbers in a skewed manner.

**Recommendations to others considering Sigma:**

Solid tool to evaluate utilization of SaaS platforms

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to help answer questions about how many people are using our SaaS platform at any given time. Sigma helps provide those analytics to support conversations around program progress and account health.

  ### 35. Good to use for analysts

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chandra S. | Senior Product Analytics Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I like that it is effortless to sync the reports with google sheets and Excel. The queries also run quite fast.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

I wouldn't say I like the way we can easily download the data and analyze the same in excel or another tool. It is quite cumbersome as this feature is not available. every time one needs to create a new worksheet to test a few queries

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been able to schedule several reports for different teams. This has automated the process and helped create the reports based on Google sheets as the data can easily be transferred. It has also helped me in building dashboards for tracking several metrics

  ### 36. Quick access to data via an intuitive interface and useful dashboards.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

The ability to create dashboards with specific filters to target data is nice. The dashboards refresh quickly and provide a great visual of the data that I want to see and/or report on.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

While the interface is relatively intuitive, I would prefer to have more tips and guidance along the way. Access to help and support resources is easy, so this isn't much of an issue.

**Recommendations to others considering Sigma:**

This solution has been implemented by many reputable businesses, which says a lot for it's reputation.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma helps us access and view important data quickly and easily. It helps us identify changes in customer activity and monitor use via the provided metrics and graphs.

  ### 37. Valuable Data Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

We use Sigma in our organization to gather usage data for our customer base. It is easy to use for this purpose and easy to export the data into a CSV/Excel file so that our customers can utilize the data in a usable format.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Sometimes we face long load times or lagging when trying to pull a report. This may be because our data set is large, but it can be frustrating

**Recommendations to others considering Sigma:**

We have had a positive experience and a lot of this is due to the excellent Support team. Take advantage of that!

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Sigma to pull usage data for the most part. We also use it to pull data on user profiles (what version of the tool they're using, what version of Windows are they running, etc.) It has been very helpful for us to have access to this data outside of our own environment, via a web browser, especially while remote. It has also drastically reduced overhead and internal Engineering efforts.

  ### 38. Sigma is a great alternative to Tableau with a more Excel-like interface.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I like that the tool is browser-based, meaning I don't have to install any program on my local machine or worry about software updates. I just go to the app, and I'm ready to start analyzing my data.

It's also a very intuitive, user-friendly tool that you can start using pretty immediately. There isn't a steep learning curve.

The customer support team is also amazingly friendly—they're always willing to help. And, the product team is constantly working on developing new features and is very open to suggestions.

I like how easy it is to set up email alerts with embedded dashboards—and, you can trigger the alerts based on values in the dashboards, which essentially means that you could use Sigma for any kind of data monitoring you need to do.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Since the product is still relatively new, there are times when the UI doesn't work quite like I would expect, or there will be small bugs like column names not showing up fully or a window not sliding properly.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I need to create a dashboard or set up a data alert, I turn to Sigma first because it's more of a complete, integrated, easy solution that using Tableau or Python to do the same thing. My team has created multiple Sigma dashboards that are used for various data quality purposes, and I have helped others use Sigma to do basic data modeling and monitoring.

  ### 39. Widely positive with a mix of small issues.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Sigma covers a large range of reporting which is simplified and intuitive once you have the data. It is relatively easy to jump into Sigma with little to no working knowledge and still produce something worthwhile. We like the ease of edit and the ability to have multiple workers change a single workbook or design without too much hassle. Intricate charts and designs are easy to produce and equally easy to modify. We can create new workbooks very quickly once the data is set up properly.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Data manipulation within Sigma is not as easy for more complex issues. Some simple things such as column merging, mathematical formulas of data, and slicing are more time-consuming than needed which makes big workbooks for large issues time-consuming to initially set up. For workers who are not as savvy with SQL and other programming languages, this is particularly difficult as a lot of the data needs to be edited and queried first or else there won't be enough resources in Sigma itself for them to deal with the data.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma solves the issues of quick reporting on an array of issues. Once the data is formatted many different teams can easily create workbooks and charts that provide plenty of insight into any issues they might be researching. The flexibility of quick reporting and ease-of-use is the big benefit of using Sigma over other competitors.

  ### 40. Flexible, SQL-friendly BI tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

A key feature is the ability to quickly adjust the data flowing into a report/worksheet. Many analyses I do are exploratory and pivoting to a different avenue is easy when the query lives right there. Sigma support is great and always there to help me troubleshoot issues or come up with a creative way to do something.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

As a worksheet-based tool, sometimes functionality can be limited compared to other BI tools. Graphing and visualizations sometimes can't go that one extra step to show what I need. Also, dashboard filtering can be confusing and not intuitive.

**Recommendations to others considering Sigma:**

A great option for small(er), growing companies whose data needs are shifting and evolving with the organization

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma helps with all of our analytics and using data to make decisions. As a fast growing organization, our needs, data sources, and questions are continually shifting and it allows us the flexibility to make the changes we need, when we need to. Whether it's reporting on marketing, website, or operational data, the worksheet-based setup is familiar to most end users and enables more democratization of analytics across the board.

One thing to consider is that this review was written prior to rolling out and switching to the new workbook interface. At a high level it seems like a positive focus on end user experience but having not tested it yet, can't confirm the impact of this new functionality.

  ### 41. Like excel on top of a database

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Making Sigma available to our internal customers has cut down tremendously on simple requests that would previously have been the job of our analytics team. By making our most commonly asked for data available across departments, a much greater portion of the requests our analytics team receives require deeper exploration and thinking.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Glitches and issues are not infrequent. Sigma is still new to the game so I can forgive them and only with the global Snowflake outage did we have problems that prevented usage.

**Recommendations to others considering Sigma:**

Onboarding with Sigma has been one of the best decisions our team made. The Sigma team is generally great to work with, quickly answers questions and is great about setting up organization-specific training. We are now pushing 80 users, 60 of them active and it has scaled very well too.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Sigma primarily for daily and one-off reporting. Most of our users take one or two sources and combine them, filter down and export. We are also building out more and more visualizations with Sigma dashboarding that we previously had to create in Salesforce. The connection from Snowflake to Sigma makes it easy to create a new dataset for reporting or visualization.

  ### 42. Best reporting tool I've used till now

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Integrated querying-tool and spreadsheet-like interface

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Limit rows number when exporting data. The work made behind the scenes when materializing datasets seems to be not much clean. I've got asked a lot by the Data Infrastructure managers "who is running this query?" while they show me a huge query with lots of aliases and subqueries. Currently, we've migrated to Snowflake + dbt, so we are doing that materializing there.

**Recommendations to others considering Sigma:**

Sigma is the future, is an excellent tool in combination with dbt

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

End-user can download charts source data (self-service). Clone a dashboard with minor modifications. Schedule sending of reports.

  ### 43. Fantastic interface, but limited LOD calculations

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hernán E. | BI Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I like the easy way in which calculations and visualizations can be created, and that's super straightforward to teach end-users how to build things on their own.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Not being able to create LOD calculations, meaning to avoid some of the grouping levels and then create more flexible calculations. Also, charts' alignment on dashboard is difficult and being able to use worksheet level columns for filtering wo a parameter is a bummer.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a 360 view of the organization relying on different KPIs. With everyone building analysis while our BI team just getting involved for the more advanced stuff, we're truly building a data-driven company.

  ### 44. Good as dashboard - not as interactive or visual

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Easy for experiment reporting and monitoring fixed metrics (ones where definitions are clearly defined). Tabs make it easy to read through relevant information.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Not as easy to manipulate the data without significant SQL knowledge. Edit access is limited. Hard to track SQL code behind the tables. With it could be more visual

**Recommendations to others considering Sigma:**

Know the purpose and technical requirements of your users!

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping me monitor experiment metrics and relevant successful metrics more easily. Lets large group of people gain access to this knowledge. Allows me to see more information below should I choose to

  ### 45. Sigma for a non-data science user

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I like how intuitive it is for linking up all the data sources, the tie into snowflake and pulling together in clean, clear dashboards

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

It would be nice if for the pivot type graphs there were options to adjust and move data around or add total in the dashboard itself and not have to go back into the datasheet and change the whole dashboard

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The large problem is data share across the internal organization. We use sigma to create company dashboards and one-off dashboards for billing & volume/activity ofour customers.

  ### 46. Powerful data analysis tool for non-technical users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I'm a non-technical PM. Sigma has a relatively moderate learning curve (a few hours), but once you get the hang of it there's a definite 80/20 rule where a few basics will take you far and help you unlock the power to create advanced reports. For 99% of reports, it replaces the need to write SQL (you still can if you want).

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Creating dashboards can be fiddly. They have a folder system, but managing existing reports can quickly get out of hand. Playing around with an existing report requires you to create a new one, leaving hundreds of temporarily used saved reports in my wake.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Analysis of business data and product usage data.
We also used their embedded feature to embed Sigma reports inside our customer-facing application, which saved us the work of building a reporting feature ourselves.

  ### 47. From the perspective of Sales and also an author of dashboards

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Fairly easy to use with hardly any coding knowledge. I can build basic dashboards and explore the worksheets and data. Customer support is also really responsive and helpful!

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

The way user teams are set up and managing the sets of data each team gets access to seems limited at the moment.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being cloud-based is definitely a big selling point and extremely helpful for sharing dashboards I create with my team. Directly connect to our database in Snowflake, I can access and manipulate the latest data on a daily basis.

  ### 48. Sigma Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

I really enjoy the ease of use. The ability to manipulate large amounts of data fairly easily is great. I also think the integration with Snowflake is excellent, as well.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

The limited number of visualization options. Would be great to have some more diverse options like Power BI for graphs and charts, as well as other presentation types.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time-saving, ability to have dashboards that refresh quickly and give great views while being very readable for non-power users. Also really enjoying the direct integration with Snowflake.

  ### 49. Amazing BI tool for Data Analysts

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

Sigma's data exploration tool is amazing for non-SQL users. Users can quickly join and filter datasets with an Excel-style interface. This process is so fast and smooth that even SQL users often use it.

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

Visualizations capabilities are limited compared to other BI tools. Occasinally I find myself exporting data to visualise in another tool.

**Recommendations to others considering Sigma:**

Amazing tool for early stage companies. Extremely easy to use and set up. Great customer support. Visualizations are functional but do not have advanced options other BI tools have.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sigma is our BI tool. We are using Sigma to create tables, dashboards, and reports to share data throughout our organization (and in some cases with our partners). We also use Sigma to quickly perform adhoc analyses, which can be done by users who have no background in SQL.

  ### 50. Great tool with tons of potential!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** DeZwaan D. | S, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Sigma?**

The tool allows you to do typical BI on top of massive datasets!

**What do you dislike about Sigma?**

My only complaint would be hoping for more functionality around visualizations in the tool.

**What problems is Sigma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are seeing rapid user adoption across our organization which will lead to more self-service BI!
