"Powerful Enterprise Dispatch, But Demanding to Configure"
4/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow Field Service Management?

I appreciate how ServiceNow Field Service Management connects back-office ticket intake with field dispatch on one data model. Work orders give technicians customer context, asset history, and diagnostic logs, so they arrive with more information. The dynamic scheduling engine and Dispatcher Workspace match jobs to technician skills, travel time, SLA deadlines, and truck-stock inventory, and help dispatchers handle schedule changes without rebuilding assignments from scratch. I also find the offline mobile app dependable. Technicians can complete checklists, log parts, and capture customer sign-offs in low-connectivity areas, then sync records and audit timestamps when they reconnect. It helps cut repeat truck rolls and technician travel time while keeping field updates in sync. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Field Service Management?

I found the initial setup demanding, with a steep learning curve and about four months of work across configuration, data preparation, and pilot testing. The default workspaces are cluttered, with too many tabs, lists, and fields, so I had to tailor them before non-technical staff could use them comfortably. Changing business rules and maintaining integrations also takes dedicated, certified ServiceNow developers rather than operational self-service. The mobile app can have noticeable sync delays when technicians upload large photo batches or diagnostic logs over weak cellular networks. Premium licensing and extra integration costs add up quickly, and the platform can be overkill for smaller organizations or teams without dedicated ServiceNow admin and developer support.
