"Efficient Enterprise Architecture Management, with Dashboards, Workspaces"

What do you like best about ServiceNow Enterprise Architecture?

I like the out-of-the-box dashboards and the workspace feature for managing enterprise applications. I also like Now Assist for EA, which summarizes information and provides actionable insights about our business applications. We use several dashboards—such as the Application 360 Dashboard, Application Rationalization Dashboard, and Application Risk and Compliance—that provide strong end-to-end visibility into our application landscape. Within the workspace, we can efficiently manage certificate tasks, assessment approvals, and portfolio overviews all in one place.

We can also visually explore and analyze relationships between Common Service Data Model (CSDM) entities using the Architecture Analyzer and Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Enterprise Architecture?

I think ServiceNow should offer a more unified solution that includes all the essential features needed to manage the enterprise architecture of large organizations as Application Portfolio Management evolves. It’s already moving in the right direction by following CSDM principles and integrating with CMDB and GRC, but in my experience the implementation still requires a lot of functional knowledge of CMDB and enterprise architecture. What problems is ServiceNow Enterprise Architecture solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use ServiceNow Enterprise Architecture to map applications to services and manage portfolios. For our large enterprise, it helps streamline how we organize applications, services, and portfolios in one place. The dashboards and insights improve efficiency by giving end-to-end visibility into applications and by helping us manage tasks and approvals more effectively. The Enterprise Architecture workspace also offers easy-to-use navigation, which makes it simpler for portfolio management teams to manage business applications. We can create an Architectural Decision Record (ADR) from the Portfolio page and request for an approval..
