What do you like best about Securly Filter?

We’ve been using Securly Filter for several years now, and it’s become an essential part of how we manage student devices and ensure online safety in our school. As a K–8 environment with 1:1 Chromebooks, content filtering isn’t just about blocking bad sites — it’s about helping students stay on task and giving teachers and parents peace of mind.

One of the biggest strengths of Securly Filter is how well it integrates with Google Workspace. We’re able to manage filtering policies by organizational units, so we can tailor access based on age and grade level. The interface is intuitive, and reporting is clear — I can quickly pull activity logs or get a high-level view of student browsing behavior if a concern comes up.

Another huge benefit has been the parent portal. Parents really appreciate being able to see their child’s activity at home and even pause internet access when needed. It’s made our tech program feel more transparent and collaborative.

From a technical perspective, the filter is reliable, and the cloud-based setup means we’re not stuck maintaining on-prem hardware. Support has been responsive any time we’ve needed help fine-tuning categories or resolving issues.

Pros:

Easy Google Workspace integration

Granular filtering by OU

Strong reporting and real-time activity logs

Parent portal is a game-changer

Cloud-based, minimal maintenance Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
