What do you like best about Seafile?

I appreciate Seafile’s self-hosted deployment option and library-based permission structure, which allow us to organize documents into isolated libraries with tiered access rights. Time-limited, password-protected external links simplify sharing documents with auditors. The file version history is helpful for tracking deal revisions, supporting our documentation workflows. I also value Seafile’s reliable file sync and robust version control, important for circulating pitch decks and portfolio updates. We can revoke external share links instantly if needed. The isolated library structure helps keep investor data segregated from confidential files, making it easier to maintain orderly records and meet reporting obligations. What do you dislike about Seafile?

Seafile lacks native automated data retention policies required under GDPR. Generating standardized audit trails for BaFin reviews requires manual export work. There are no pre-built templates for German VC reporting packages. Searching across multiple libraries can be slow, and I need to maintain separate logs to document file access for limited partners and external auditors reviewing our investment documents.
