## ScreenPal Reviews
  ### 1. ScreenPal: Low-Friction, End-to-End Platform for Professional Technical Instruction

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2026

**What do you like best about ScreenPal?**

As a cybersecurity professor delivering highly technical instruction, I am extremely selective about the tools I integrate into my workflow. ScreenPal has become one of the most effective platforms I use for creating, refining, and delivering instructional content at a professional level.

What immediately stands out is the platform’s efficiency and low friction. In environments where I am working through complex material—such as packet analysis, Zeek log interpretation, and system-level investigations—I need to be able to capture content quickly without interrupting technical flow. ScreenPal enables rapid screen, audio, and webcam recording with minimal overhead, allowing me to focus on precision and clarity rather than tooling.

In short, ScreenPal is not simply a screen recording tool; it is a complete instructional delivery platform. It enables high-quality, repeatable, and professionally structured technical content creation with minimal friction. For any instructor operating in a technical domain, it represents a significant force multiplier.

**What do you dislike about ScreenPal?**

The lack of ability to download ( mp3/4) complete collections of my content

**What problems is ScreenPal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Where ScreenPal truly differentiates itself is in its end-to-end capability: capture → edit → host → distribute. I can record a full technical walkthrough, perform targeted edits (trimming, annotations, callouts), and publish immediately without exporting into multiple tools. This significantly streamlines content production and ensures consistency across all instructional materials.

The channel-based hosting model is particularly valuable in an academic environment. It allows me to organize lecture content, lab walkthroughs, and reference materials into structured, centralized repositories. This creates a controlled, professional delivery mechanism that integrates cleanly with LMS platforms while maintaining full ownership over content organization and access.

From an instructional standpoint, ScreenPal enhances the quality and scalability of technical delivery. It enables precise, repeatable demonstrations of complex workflows—whether walking through packet dissection, command-line analysis, or investigative methodologies—while preserving the narrative context that is often lost in static materials.

  ### 2. Effortless Video Management, Exceptional Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelly G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2026

**What do you like best about ScreenPal?**

I really find ScreenPal easy to use. As soon as I signed up, which is very affordable, I started uploading videos without any problems. There's no big learning curve, and it's great. I love using ScreenPal as my video hub and the ease of embedding videos through my website for course members. Plus, having my logo on the videos and options for downloading and using AI features is fantastic. I love the aesthetic, and it's more affordable than other software. The response to inquiries and issues has been way quicker. The setup was super easy; you sign up, download the software, and you’re good to go. The ability to upload videos, add thumbnails, change titles, and get transcripts right from the start is so easy. I give it a 10 and have recommended it to other coaches and online teachers.

**What do you dislike about ScreenPal?**

I can't think of any way that my needs aren't met.

**What problems is ScreenPal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ScreenPal is my video hub for storing course and yoga training videos. It's easy to use, affordable, and resolves issues quickly. I love its aesthetic, embedding options for my website, and video customization features.

  ### 3. Intuitive Video Editing with Extra-Friendly Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Veronica H. | Freelancer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about ScreenPal?**

Intuitive interface for editing videos that is simple for a non-techie to use. The support team goes to extra lengths to help sort out issues, and are very friendly! New features are regularly added.

**What do you dislike about ScreenPal?**

None that I can think of; my experience has been fantastic and I've been using them for at least 5 years!

**What problems is ScreenPal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Screenpal enables me to edit the large amount of videos I record for my business, both for training courses and for customer testimonials, which I record as interviews and then edit myself out.

  ### 4. Easy and Reliable Tool for Screen Recording and Sharing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shane . | Sr. Customer Support and onboarding Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2025

**What do you like best about ScreenPal?**

ScreenPal makes recording videos, tutorials, and quick walkthroughs incredibly simple. The interface is clean and easy to understand, so even new users can start recording right away. I really like how smooth the editing tools are — trimming clips, adding captions, and overlaying text can be done in minutes. It’s lightweight, doesn’t slow down my computer, and makes sharing recordings straightforward with just a link or file download.

**What do you dislike about ScreenPal?**

Sometimes, the upload or export process can take a bit longer than expected, especially for large, high-quality videos. I also wish there were a few more advanced editing options included in the standard plan. However, for quick and professional-looking recordings, it works really well and gets the job done.

**What problems is ScreenPal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves a lot of time when creating training videos or explaining processes to teammates. Instead of typing out long instructions, I can just record my screen and voice. It’s made communication clearer, especially for remote work and client demos. ScreenPal helps me deliver visual explanations that are easier to understand and share.

**Official Response from Rebecca Young:**

  ### 5. Useful like an instrument, and feature-packed.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vincent F. | Senior Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2025

**What do you like best about ScreenPal?**

I like how smartly all the feature are laid out. Anything I need to use a lot is easy to get to, and I can literally understand how to use a new feature without being told how. It's *that* intuitive. The most impressive thing about that is just the sheer variety of things it can do without ever having the leave the app.

**What do you dislike about ScreenPal?**

The only thing close to a dislike I have isn't the software, but the website. It's not obvious to me where to go to get info on things, it's not often linked to directly from within the app, and when I get there finally it's not always clear that my answer is on the page. Sometimes the articles feel like stubs or rely too much on a video. The videos are great but I am just lazy enough to want to quickly scan through a nicely formatted page.

**What problems is ScreenPal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do screencasts as a value-added educational benefit for individual clients, or to make archivable reference materials to illustrate ideas clearly for an employer. It's weirdly difficult to find any software for the purpose that has a good quality sharp image that matches what you see in the recording, and also doesn't make you rely on something else to finish the job. I don't think the price has ever changed for me for a yearly subscription and I've never been charged extra for hosting despite a dizzying number of videos, but I can go from idea to remote linking people to a polished video in minutes. Just tape, make quick edits, push a button, and it's live. It's the glue that holds together, and smooths over, everything I have to tell people about my ideas or the work I am doing.

**Official Response from Rebecca Young:**

> Thank you for your feedback, Vincent! It's great to hear how you're using ScreenPal, and I appreciate your ideas on how we could improve our website and tutorial content. I'll share your thoughts with our team - thanks again!

  ### 6. ScreenPal (Screencast-O-Matic) Robust & Easy to Use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark J. | System Administrator (Primary) Social Media Content Creator (Secondary), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2025

**What do you like best about ScreenPal?**

I like using ScreenPal for capturing videos on my desktop because it is straightforward and user-friendly. The software also includes a good range of editing and annotation tools, which I find quite useful. The cursor highlight allows my mouse pointer to stand out, which is a feature that is not available in all desktop capture programs. The software is extremely easy to use and it doesn't require much in the way of computer resources.

**What do you dislike about ScreenPal?**

I've not yet found anything to dislike about ScreenPal.

**What problems is ScreenPal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I typically use ScreePal for creating video tutorials. I've found that it's much easier to "show" someone how to accomplish a task or carry out a process on a computer than it is to write instructions. Often times, when writing instructions there is a certain level of assumption that happens. For example, we assume the user knows how to open Control Panel. With a video tutorial, there is no assumption because we're able to show the users where to go and what to do.

  ### 7. Intuitive Video Editing with Essential Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fuad .

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2025

**What do you like best about ScreenPal?**

I like ScreenPal because it is simple to use and offers all the features I need. I never found myself needing something that the application doesn't provide. I particularly enjoy being able to enhance videos with text, images, highlight, zoom, and the ability to add narration. The initial setup was very easy, and I love that I can use it both as a web tool and a desktop app.

**What do you dislike about ScreenPal?**

Maybe saving files and export can be a bit better, but currently it is not a problem

**What problems is ScreenPal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ScreenPal to record videos and create presentations effortlessly. It's simple and packed with all needed features. I can augment videos with text, images, highlights, zoom, and even add narration, making video creation intuitive and comprehensive.

  ### 8. A Video is Worth a Thousand Pictures - ScreenPal Proves It

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mel T. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2025

**What do you like best about ScreenPal?**

Make simple one-click video explanations

**What do you dislike about ScreenPal?**

Given features and price it's hard to think of a downside.

**What problems is ScreenPal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I go back to the early 2010s when Screencast-O-Matic was one of the few choices out there. I found it very helpful for the few explainers I was doing for clients at the time. Time went by and I retired... well sort of. I retained one client who really needed my help. He publishes an email newsletter that's published worldwide. He recently decided to publish a book and I became the project manager of a small team assembled to make that happen. The team is very talented but not particularly technical so I ended up answering a lot of questions about the process. I started by answering phone calls and progressed to writing explanatory emails to which I began attaching diagrams and screenshots. It began taking way much time, then I got the idea that an explainer video would be clearer for everyone... So I did a search for a service or app that would fill the bill. YIKES! there must be thousands out there now. Everything I found was too complicated, too expensive or just didn't appeal to me. Then, I ran across ScreenPal and found it was the rebrand of Screencast-O-Matic. Kind of like reconnecting with an old friend. So I took a look. I was immediately impressed with the look and feel of the GUI. Great redesign. Very easy to navigate. The price (tho I was looking for free) was easy on the budget. I know there's a free version but I wanted just a little more. I won't go into everything I like except to mention the ability to host on their servers or save as an MP4 and upload to You tube if that's what I want and how easy they make it to add password security to each video. I've gotten to the point that, when someone asks for clarifications I just pop open ScreenPal (it now lives on my toolbar so one, not two clicks ;-) ) and knock out a 30/60 second answer. The team loves it and I'm finding it kind of fun. After trying different options to get my team answers I'm going to say, "if a picture is worth a thousand words then a video is worth a thousand pictures!

  ### 9. ScreenPal allows me to create high quality tutorials

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cindy G. | HMIS Training Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2025

**What do you like best about ScreenPal?**

The thing I like best about ScreenPal is the Cloud hosting and easy sharing. I support nonprofit software users. I can create a quick video to share with my team when we are troubleshooting problems with our user's software. It saves so much time to be able to explain a technical problem with a quick video. Also, I can create videos for non-technical users that make the training very user friendly and easy to understand. I can easily share a link to the video.

The customer support is timely and very helpful.

If the video contains sensitive information, I can protect it with a password. I use the video editing tools to blur information that might be sensitive, and to clip parts of the video. The editing tools are easy to use. I especially appreciate the ability to record screen, webcam, or both simultaneously, which is great for instructional videos and online training.

**What do you dislike about ScreenPal?**

As a nonprofit employee who is always trying to save money, I'd use the free version if I could. Even though I try to keep videos short, sometimes I need to create videos that are longer than what is allowed under the free version.

**What problems is ScreenPal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ScreenPal helps me provide high quality software training for Case Managers.

**Official Response from Rebecca Young:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience, Cindy! I appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and am happy to know that ScreenPal's secure video hosting & easy sharing are helping you support your nonprofit clients. We value your feedback!

  ### 10. The Best Solution for Quick Tutorials and Demos

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric . | Customer Onboarding and Support Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2025

**What do you like best about ScreenPal?**

ScreenPal is incredibly user-friendly and perfect for quickly creating tutorials, demos, or training videos. I love how simple it is to record both screen and webcam simultaneously, add captions, and do basic editing right inside the tool without needing extra software. The cloud hosting option makes sharing videos effortless.

**What do you dislike about ScreenPal?**

Some of the advanced editing features are only available in higher plans. Also, rendering large videos can sometimes take longer than expected, but it’s manageable.

**What problems is ScreenPal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has completely streamlined the way we create internal training materials and client tutorials. Instead of long emails, we now share clear, concise video walkthroughs that save time and reduce confusion. It’s cost-effective, easy to use, and works across multiple devices.
