  ### 2. Valley Hero

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2018

**What do you like best about SchoolMint Hero?**

I like the way you can focus on the positive behaviors in your classroom instead of negative ones. It rewards students for doing the "right thing". Before hero I often focus on the students that where doing the "wrong behaviors" Now with hero its turn the focus of them onto the students that do the right thing all the time and in-turn students that use to get the focus now have to do the opposite behavior "right thing" to get the attention they are wanting.

**What do you dislike about SchoolMint Hero?**

Now that hero has changed a few things that teachers where asking for on the website it has been great, for example you were only able to give one point for one behavior now you can select multiple behaviors at once that students are doing.

**Recommendations to others considering SchoolMint Hero:**

It rewards students that are doing the right thing all the time that we often overlook because they always do when students see other students getting points for doing the right thing it prompts them to do it too.

**What problems is SchoolMint Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Students behavior in the classroom has improved as well as getting to class on time. Students want the points so they can get items for the hero store, like game tickets, prom tickets, parking spot, food, snacks, movie tickets just to name a few.

  ### 3. Great behavior tracking and reward tool when well-integrated into a schoolwide PBIS program

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2020

**What do you like best about SchoolMint Hero?**

Hero can be used to reward, and thus, reinforce, positive student behaviors. The user can choose from a number of predefined behaviors (I assume these are chosen by school leaders when setting up the school-wide account) and grant the student points to both track and reward the behavior(s).

Hero can also be used to track infractions (tardiness, dress code violations, etc.) by choosing from a set of predefined behaviors. When these behaviors are tracked, points are deducted from the student's "account." At my school, students can use their points to "purchase" items from our school store, and behavior tracking is integrated into our PBIS program.

**What do you dislike about SchoolMint Hero?**

The user is only able to choose from a predefined set of behaviors to reward or track infractions. I understand the need to track a uniform set of behaviors across the school (perhaps those that the school would especially like to reinforce and/or reduce), but it would be great if users could add a specific behavior to track on-the-fly in an "other" field. I am not sure if the Hero app offers this flexibility after the school account has been created.

**Recommendations to others considering SchoolMint Hero:**

Great tool for on-the-fly behavior tracking and reward. When integrated with a schoolwide positive behavior reinforcement program, this is a great way to encourage student self-monitoring of behavior.

**What problems is SchoolMint Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Students are able to buy-in to the schoolwide culture through our PBIS program. Their positive behaviors can be discreetly rewarded and negative behaviors can be discreetly corrected and redirected. By providing incentives to reward positive behaviors and correct undesired behaviors, students develop the intrinsic motivation to self-monitor.

  ### 4. Love it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2018

**What do you like best about SchoolMint Hero?**

I love that this is something I have been doing all my years teaching and now it's easier and school wide instead of just me doing it alone. This program has made it so much easier to give students positive reinforcement. It's all tracked on the computer and I can just put the tickets up on the screen as the students walk in. They love it.

**What do you dislike about SchoolMint Hero?**

I dislike how the app for the phone is not really that great. It's slow and the scanner doesn't work.

**Recommendations to others considering SchoolMint Hero:**

Love this! Totally recommend it!

**What problems is SchoolMint Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The students are coming to class on time, with their ID present and are eager to follow classroom expectations so they can receive points.

  ### 5. HERO is Great!!!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2018

**What do you like best about SchoolMint Hero?**

The ability to track both positive and negative behaviors. I also like the fact that students are able to see how many points they have accumulated as well as what positive and negative behaviors have been tracked for them.

**What do you dislike about SchoolMint Hero?**

I wish there was a way that teachers could reset students' passwords. The biggest issue we are having is students remembering their passwords. We have had to revoke so many keys because our students are not allowed access to email with their school email accounts so when they forget their password, the only option is to have it sent to their email which they have no access. Maybe if there was another way to reset their password, like maybe them answering some security questions, would be very helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering SchoolMint Hero:**

None at this time

**What problems is SchoolMint Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are no business problems to solve. We are using Hero for school issues.

  ### 6. Great PBIS Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam J. | Principal, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2018

**What do you like best about SchoolMint Hero?**

I love the fact that our students have the ability to track their own points, and can hold our teachers accountable for the point delivery that we have set up.

**What do you dislike about SchoolMint Hero?**

I do dislike the fact that I have to sync my printer each time I open the app.

**What problems is SchoolMint Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are seeing an increase in positive behavior from our students, and a decrease in 1st hour tardies.

  ### 7. Great Program

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brooke T. | Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2018

**What do you like best about SchoolMint Hero?**

I like that hero is user friendly and helps organize and compile your data. I like the positive aspects of hero as well.

**What do you dislike about SchoolMint Hero?**

There isn't much i do not like about hero. It does have to be a group effort for the school. All faculty and staff has to use hero for it to be effective.

**What problems is SchoolMint Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am not on the business side of hero.

  ### 8. Awesome Program!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole D. | Secretary, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2018

**What do you like best about SchoolMint Hero?**

I really like how you can track each students tardies every day and it automatically assigns consequences.

**What do you dislike about SchoolMint Hero?**

I don't like that we can't have two groups of students up at a time. We have certain students on modified plans that we have to change for every consequence.

**Recommendations to others considering SchoolMint Hero:**

I would definitely recommend this program to any school who wants to use technology more to track tardies as well as positive behaviors.

**What problems is SchoolMint Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves a lot of time having to write passes.

  ### 9. amazing way to encourage great behavior in the classroom

**Recommendations to others considering SchoolMint Hero:**

give it a try, it will work with buy in

**What problems is SchoolMint Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we are improving attendance and behaviors in the classroom

  ### 10. Heroes Succeed

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carol U. | Kindergarten Teacher, Education Management, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2018

**What do you like best about SchoolMint Hero?**

I like that I am able to monitor the hallway in the morning and give points to students for excellent behavior on the spot with my cell phone.
I like that I can track my kindergarteners all week and given them points on Friday by pulling up my whole class.

**What do you dislike about SchoolMint Hero?**

When I track my students at the end of the week I wish I could easily adjust the number of points I give for each student, so I didn't have to do it individually. I would like to change the number from 5 to 4 or 3.

**Recommendations to others considering SchoolMint Hero:**

Stick with IT!

**What problems is SchoolMint Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am seeing more students on task and correcting inappropriate behavior when they hear me say that someone else is going to get a hero point. I have also found that I am able to give a point for being responsible by bringing in their homework.
