## Scapple Reviews
  ### 1. A Simple But Unrestrictive Mind Mapping Tool for Brainstorming

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul T. | English Second Language Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Scapple?**

Being an ESL teacher, my focus is on using the valuable time I have on creating helpful lessons for my students. What I like about Scapple is that its layout is simple and I can easyily put my thoughts anywhere on the canvas without too many restrictions. This is great because it allows my creativity to flow more naturally when I'm brainstorming new lessons for my students, which makes the whole process more enjoyable.

**What do you dislike about Scapple?**

It lacks some of the more advanced formatting options. This is a minor issue for me, though, because it is also the lack of these features that allows me to focus more on brainstorming - I can always worry about formatting afterwards when I have a solid outline of my ESL lessons.

**What problems is Scapple solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scapple gives me the ability to express ideas the way that I see them in my mind, without being confined to a rigid structure. This is epecially the case when branching to another idea in this madmapping tool. I am able to place my branched thoughts anywhere on the canvas and still have them linked to the original idea that they came from. This is a real time saver and allows me to be more creative when creating ESL lessons for my students.

  ### 2. My thoughts take shape and I can connect concepts thanks to Scapple.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Scapple?**

Scapple has a visual compartmentalization and free approach that adapts to the way I process information. I don't spend a lot of time searching for features when building my idea maps because I can use the keyboard shortcuts and its large set of shape tools to speedup navigation; plus it's easy to incorporate text documents just by dragging and dropping and editing them within the map itself.

**What do you dislike about Scapple?**

So far Scapple has had no crashes or difficulties when exporting or saving maps so I would say it offers technical reliability and stability true to its original purpose.

**What problems is Scapple solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Scapple I can generate concept maps that show how learning outcomes and digital resources are intertwined. There're no intrusive menus so I can sketch my ideas as if it were an infinite sheet of paper to present them in an organic format and improve the speed with which I develop my course prototypes.

  ### 3. Helps in creating a framework for ideas.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roland F. | Advertising Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Scapple?**

The abilities to easily create multiple unconnected bubbles have also been beneficial to my ideas, especially while using Scapple. It provides me with an easy way of capturing an idea as well as making a thought-provoking way of approaching at the idea.

**What do you dislike about Scapple?**

Downsides of Scapple include the program’s minimal formatting features, which can make it challenging to organize and develop ideas. This can make documents appear cluttered and unstructured when writing tasks entail more organization.

**What problems is Scapple solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As for Scapple, it provides a solution to the linear approach since it allows one to write anything in a connected but not strictly sequential manner. Scapple captures the concepts in images and, by linking them, one can unleash creative thought processes and discover new relations within a written content of the ongoing project.

  ### 4. If you like…. You must give it a try.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sadie Julia W. | Senior Test Automation Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Scapple?**

I love that it is very simple, it is easy and very light. In addition, in a good platform for novice users and can be installed on Windows and Mac OS and this is a great advantage. With this product we can create labels in a few seconds and I love this.

**What do you dislike about Scapple?**

I dislike that it does not have a totally free version, it only allows you a free version for 30 days and this is a disadvantage.

**Recommendations to others considering Scapple:**

I recommend using the free version for 30 days and then you must make a decision.

**What problems is Scapple solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We managed to solve problems of label creation, note taking and signal execution systems.
