## Revit Reviews
  ### 1. Using Revit

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Philippe K. | Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Revit?**

The ability to work in 2D and 3D and visualize the end product is of great benefit and high quality. Revit also allows clash detection in the models. Despite lack of competition, Revit does an excellent job for its intended use.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Revit has a constant learning curve, especially for complex models that require a lot of parameters. Moreover, Revit involves a lot of computing power, so reducing the same would help make it run better on computers.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Revit allows for proper building design and clash detection during the early design phases. it also allowed viewing the model in 3D, aiding in better visualizing the final product.

  ### 2. I have limited experience, but so far so good!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clara S. | Project Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Revit is pretty easy to use off the bat. Admittedly, I don't know how to do too much 3D work, but I know it can be done and is comparable to AutoCAD. The 3D integration with applications like BIM360 and Navisworks is very easy/seamless. It's easy to create a cut-section and create lift drawings from a model.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

I don't want to blame Revit, because I'm quite sure this is a user error, but it's not super easy to pick up and try to learn. I've watched quite a few Youtube videos to try to figure out how to do something, but it wasn't exactly what I was looking for.
It's like I know exactly what I want/need to do, but I can't figure out how to do it. But again, I think this is just due to my inexperience.
It's also worth noting that I have the 2018 version, so I'm unsure if it has improved in the last few years of updates.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The 3D integration with software like BIM360 or Navisworks helps office and field teams visualize what something is supposed to look like before it is built.

  ### 3. Best BIM product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Revit?**

Revit is the best BIM product on the market these days. I started my carrier almost 20 years ago when some architects still worked by hand drafting. Then AutoCAD becomes a big player, now Revit.

Revit is much more efficient in so many ways. My most favorite features:
   - you build a BIM model, not line work.
   - several people can work on the same model at the same time
   - you can easily collaborate with your consultants (MEP, Electrical, Structural, Civil engineers, etc.)
   - less mistakes are made in drawings organization with the help of this automated program

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

Everybody hates stairs and railings in Revit. It is tough to deal with them, especially if your stair is not standard (which is almost every project)

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

Try it! Learn it! It will make your life so much easier

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating drawing sets (SD, DD, CD) and CA

  ### 4. Market Dominant BIM Platform; not perfect but gets the job done.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert M. | Associate, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Revit?**

By in large Revit thinks about buildings the way buildings are built. Allows you to manage, control and output large quantities of structured data. Maintaining consistency between multiple views and sheets is very beneficial, particularly for small, agile teams!

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

It can become quite cumbersome for large, complex projects and large teams. Some aspects can be pretty restrictive and frustrating. Understanding how to build good, dynamic, parametric families (content) is art & science.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

It may not be perfect, but Revit remains the market-dominant platform in North America. Lots of expertise available, widely used, accepted, and often expected.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Revit is far better platform for delivering the documentation for the design of a building. The ability for multiple team members to collaborate from nearly anywhere in the world thanks to BIM 360 (additional $$) in a platform specifically designed for the documentation of buildings is far better than traditioanl tools use in the design and documentation of a building.

  ### 5. Revit software used for modelling and coordination the 3D models

This software is absolutely essential to the A/E industry, especially as tools and coordination have become fully digital, and construction means and methods have begun to adopt BIM strategies.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Revit to plan, revise, edit, coordinate, document, and deliver our work. We benefit from the platforms ability to integrate many different file types, and its logical documentation work flows. We also benefit from being able to three-dimensionally evaluate coordinated disciplines' scope in our projects.

  ### 41. One platform for all process

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akash C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Revit?**

You can get all the schedules within no time. You just have to build your 3d highly detailed and rest is automatically generated. Now, the integration of the analytical software within Revit itself, like Daylight and Energy Analysis is just one touch away. Above all, Revit also allows us to make structural analysis and provides a detailed report based on ASHRAE requirements. The inbuilt Dynamo plugin allows creating parametric designs and optimisation process so easy and within the Revit interface.
Moreover, now Revit is capable to link with Rhino and Grasshopper as well, you can now use all open-source plugins within grasshopper to create an optimised design from grasshopper+Rhino into Revit. The plus point here is that you can provide material properties to each building element from within the Revit which makes it highly accurate in results when simulating the building for environmental analysis.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

1. MacOS doesn't support Revit. You have to use only the Windows operating system for Revit. This is the biggest disadvantage of Revit which reduces a huge amount of users from being using Revit. Revit should definitely come up with some solution to support in macOS soon.
2. The quality of the 3D in the interface without renders is not good, the material in such interface doesn't look real; which means you can not export 3d images directly from a working 3D interface.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

You must definitely go for Revit, its a must use the software as it is majorly used software around the world at the moment due to integration of BIM. You can connect your file through cloud BIM 360 to work in collaboration. You can create your drawing or design reach to a large audience in any file format they want.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Architectural designs, conceptual design, planning, floor plans, working drawings, detail drawings, 3D renderings and views. The befit is that it is highly flexible, you can store your selected view, any changes to main 3D will automatically be updated in your saved views so you do not forget to change it. Also, every drawing are kept within the same file, so you can create one master file as your backup data and store everything about the project within the same file. You can also export your 3d into Rhino or Sketchup, can export 2d drawing to AutoCAD or pdf, can export image capture in jpeg/png/pdf; so the Revit becomes easy to export in any format we needed.

MOSTLY BOTH ARCHITECTURE AS WELL AS MEP MODELING AND DOCUMENTATION

  ### 47. Although complex, the capabilities of this software are exceptional

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren D. | Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2020

**What do you like best about Revit?**

This software is incredible for being able to quickly view plans and elevations in 3d!
You can create full building models of varying complexities for a huge range of purposes!
The software is suitable for such a huge range of applications which makes it a must in a variety of industries.
Revit can also be used as a tool for Building Information Modelling which is a requirement of many construction projects and is the way of the future!

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

It takes a while to understand the user interface and the full capabilities of the software. Although there is a huge amount of training resource available, it’s almost impossible to use without a project to implement it on.
The subscription fee for the software is by far its biggest disadvantage as the jump from Lite use to full use is extraordinary. The cost of the software really lets it down and makes it difficult for small businesses to invest initially.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Personally we use the software for a variety of project stages; from conception to construction.
We use in house laser scanners to undertake measured building surveys which can then produce point cloud data and be imported into Revit to create a 3D existing model of the building. From here we can specify wall types with specific build ups and export a series of drawings that can be used for a wide application of things, such as planning drawings, detailed drawings for building regulations compliance, construction drawings and CGI graphics and visualisations.
The software is also fantastic for collaboration and clash detection which makes projects run much smoother when there are lots of consultants required.

  ### 48. Standard Revit user

  ### 49. Solid and effective use of tremendous multifunctional instruments

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gulraiz A. | Vice President & Unit Head E-Learning, Learning & Talent Development, Human Resource Group, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Revit?**

I use Revit to design architecture projects before my first choice, for you can combine it with structures and designers and if you can use it even in budget and time that is one of the biggest methods for designing and monitoring architectures. It is also great to connect it to light at once and work simultaneously so that you don't waste time making adjustments and changing software.

**What do you dislike about Revit?**

It's not that easy to learn how to use by yourself, people just had to take instructional courses, and the best option is to have a Revit certified course. I despise that you'll never be able to collaborate with older versions after you update the software version and your co-workers.

**Recommendations to others considering Revit:**

Before you start your roll-out, have a sound implementation plan. It is very essential all of those in the organization are both on the same section as aspirations from application. When this is done, you will be more successful and have faster ROI.

**What problems is Revit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I design and concentrate as to what should be constructed, and architectural projects are precise and harmonious, so that you know how it's happening to have been, the technicians as well as the architect, and also know what material it needs, as well as how to develop it, so you don't have to do duplication with the engineers.

  ### 50. Revit Good Software
