Retriever turns QuickBooks Online into a live data source instead of a reporting dead end. Setup was easy, and now it runs quietly in the background, keeping each client’s QBO data current in Google Sheets. The custom dashboards and reports I’ve built update automatically, so I no longer export, reformat, or rebuild anything at month-end. Across dozens of clients, that saves me hours every close.
The drill-down feature is a standout. You can click into a number on a report and see the transaction-level detail behind it, which makes review and client questions much faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, there's not much to dislike. The pre-built templates took me a little time to acclimate to, but the learning curve was short, and once I understood how they were structured, building on them was easy. Retriever also doesn’t support every single QBO report, but it covers nearly all the ones I use regularly, so it hasn’t been a real limitation in my day-to-day work.
