What do you like best about Retool?

What I like most about Retool is how quickly it lets you build internal tools and operational dashboards.

It cuts out a huge amount of boilerplate work—especially for admin panels, workflows, and integrations—so engineering teams can spend more time on business logic rather than rebuilding internal UIs from scratch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retool?

One downside is that as applications grow, Retool apps can become harder to maintain and keep organized.

When complex logic is spread across queries, components, and transformers, it can get messy over time, especially with larger teams working in the same app. Performance can also become a concern as apps get heavier, and debugging isn’t always as clear or straightforward as it would be in a traditional codebase. What problems is Retool solving and how is that benefiting you?

Retool addresses the need to build internal tools quickly, without having to create and maintain fully custom applications.

For our team, that translates into building operational dashboards, admin panels, support tools, and internal workflows far faster than we could with a traditional frontend stack. It makes experimentation easier, cuts down on engineering overhead, and enables teams that aren’t directly product-facing to run day-to-day operations more efficiently.
