My department was exactly where many are stuck: paper, phone calls, shouting across the shop floor, to-do lists — in one word, pure firefighting and reactive work. Most colleagues thought that's simply how it is in steel production. After starting with remberg came the big 'but': we had wins from day one, and the project built real momentum in the team. The focus was on bringing our maintenance process and the software into line with each other. So far we have fully succeeded. The software also delivers value beyond the maintenance process — across the whole company, all assets are now managed centrally in remberg. Alongside passing a system audit after only three weeks, the board also gave very positive feedback on the implementation and on the system. I can only encourage every maintenance manager to be brave and take the step. The rest almost takes care of itself.
