I work as a Dietician and Nutritionist, manage a homeopathy clinic, and also create health education content. I work with different types of health content, including educational videos, webinar recordings, presentation clips, and audio notes that sometimes need to be shared or stored in a smaller size. I also have videos that are useful as they are but become inconvenient to share when the file size is too large, so having a browser-based option for this is helpful.
What I like most about RedPanda Compress is the control it gives me over video compression. I can set a target file size for the compressed video, and the final file usually comes close to the size I set, and the result is satisfactory, with good video quality for sharing and viewing. The Automated Compression option is useful when I am not sure what output size to choose, although it can take quite a while to finish, especially with larger videos.
I also like the PDF compression option. Having Smallest, Balanced, and High quality makes it easy to pick what I need, and I can also set the maximum file size myself when I want more control. The interface is clean, and the compression controls are easy to understand and use. The video and audio converters are also useful when I need to change a file into a format that works better for sharing, editing, or uploading. Overall, it gives me good control over file size and the results have been reliable for sharing my health content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Main drawback for me is the processing time. Even a normal sized video can take quite a while to finish compressing, and with larger videos the waiting time becomes much longer. I also miss having batch compression support for both videos and PDFs. When I have several files to compress, having to process them one by one takes extra time.
