I really like the onboarding workflow that it provides for our new employees. In addition, GoCo has many partners that they can recommend you to for benefits and other lines of coverage. It's a versatile tool without becoming too robust or confusing to navigate and administer; making it a perfect fit for our small team. The cost compared to other HRIS is not as risky allowing you to see if it is indeed a good fit for your organization. GoCo also provides great resources outside of the HRIS platform itself with HR-focused webinars, and a blog that stays relevant to the times. **What do you dislike about QuickBooks Workforce?** Sometimes we may run into some errors during implementation of new plans. However, the account representatives at GoCo are quick to resolve any issues in a timely and professional manner. Sometimes they roll out new features that could use a little more finessing but otherwise I don't have any real dislikes. They also don't work with all providers but are continually working on expanding their network and the benefit lines that can be added. **Recommendations to others considering QuickBooks Workforce:** The onboarding process goes smoothly if you have all of your employee records as organized as possible beforehand. Be honest with your account manager about your pain points to make sure they are addressed during implementation or have a feature added to their wishlist for future implementation. If there is something that GoCo does not provide or if there are additional features you wish to see, reach out to their team! They love hearing new suggestions and are very receptive to them. If it's currently in production, they will let you know. GoCo also offers a free demo and a trial so be sure to take advantage of it to make sure that it's the right fit for you before moving forward. Take the time to speak with your account manager and implementation team and you'll find they are very supportive of you and your goals while using their system. Also if you have trouble getting buy-in from execs to switch from a paper system to GoCo's system, I recommend having GoCo run them through a demo with you. If you tell them what fears or questions the exec team has, they will be sure to address it in their presentation for you. They really do care about making your HR administration better and will try to advocate for you as much as possible. Also if you don't have a broker for benefits administration, COBRA, etc. just ask and they will refer you to a great team. **What problems is QuickBooks Workforce solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our benefits administration is being completed on-time and without rush; lowering stress levels during our open enrollment period. We are also have more productive 1:1 meetings but using their Feedback timeline tool. It provides a transparent frame of reference but also gives employees and managers a place to make notes regarding any struggles are achievements in their employment to bring up during the next meeting. We have saved a lot of time with PTO tracking as well since GoCo takes care of all the calculations and has a process for employees to submit requests. This has led to more accurate records and a smoother payroll process. ### 21. I also really like that they will submit tax reports electronically for me and make the tax payments as well **What do you dislike about QuickBooks Workforce?** I dislike that I am unable to access many of the reports that were available to me when I was using Intuits online Payroll through Bank of America. Many of my employees are contractors and I am unable to pull up reports of previous 1099's and I lost a lot of data when I was forced to change over to QB Online Payroll from the Intuit online Payroll. I have also experienced a glich in the program. Sometimes it takes forever to load to the next page or it doesn't load and I need to click elsewhere to get to where I'm trying to go. **Recommendations to others considering QuickBooks Workforce:** Make sure you have enough time to do what you need to do in GoCo just in case it takes forever to load the page (which is quite often) and sometimes things don't always cross over that need to. **What problems is QuickBooks Workforce solving and how is that benefiting you?** Honestly, it all seems rather confusing at times because there are so many different answers given to us on what to do and not do. ### 28. You do not have to jump through hoops to find an employee or the relevant information you're looking for. This is super helpful when you also deal with several other programs simultaneously. **What do you dislike about QuickBooks Workforce?** I do not like that you have to search only by the last name - sometimes, the first thing that comes to mind is the first name. This is a minor issue, but it would be nice to toggle between both. **What problems is QuickBooks Workforce solving and how is that benefiting you?** Consolidation of information is the most significant benefit of using GoCo. It communicates with the other programs we have to use and makes my job much more manageable. I can find information quickly and accurately. ### 30. It's so refreshing moving to a software that can send everything to an employee and have them fill it all out electronically. I also added to the onboarding workflow to give myself reminders of all the other manual things I need to do. The vacation requesting feature is super easy, there are lots of policies and settings we can customize for everything. **What do you dislike about QuickBooks Workforce?** There are some small gaps/oversights. Their magic docs feature is great in a lot of ways but the word docs don't look good and I can't upload headers or footers to add our logo. When they ask for signature, the only option is to actually sign using your mouse, which is very hard to do as opposed to the option to write your name in cursive and verify it. I'm still working on fully understanding document storage, and there are two places to put documents in employees profiles, custom fields and documents. Not big things, but it's not the absolutely most intuitive system to use. Still very easy, though, once you get the hang of it. **What problems is QuickBooks Workforce solving and how is that benefiting you?** Making a way better impression on new hires, having everything in one place and more prepared on their first days. Much nicer way to centralize important employee info, like emergency contacts and personal emails, instead of keeping a spreadsheet I have to manually update. The holidays and PTO calendars sync with our outlook calendars, so I keep better track of who's on vacation. We haven't had a performance review round yet but I expect it will be helpful to upload reviews through goco and keep on employee's profiles. ### 31. HR compliance is super easy thanks to personal attention given to each business owner. It seems familiar since I have been using QBOE. **What do you dislike about QuickBooks Workforce?** THIS IS a BETA software version. It is full of bugs. It does not integrate with Quickbooks cleanly; every time you have to correct a paycheck you have to call them, every time you want to rerun a paycheck you have to call them, in fact most editing functions do not work at all. The export function does not work correctly either, so you end up with multple repeats in your account ledgers. In general this software should not have been released to the public and needs hundreds of hours of programming fixes. **What problems is QuickBooks Workforce solving and how is that benefiting you?** None at all. I have not solved anything and I have realized that customer service is very important since QB has NONE. The "Development" department is among the most inept in the world. ### 36. Make sure to set concrete goals and desires for your own team when moving to the platform. This platform will not serve you poorly if you set out your clear intentions and aspirations with the GoCo implementation team. Sometimes you click a link and get a spinning circle for >5 seconds. It usually comes back in a reasonable amount of time (less than 10 seconds), but any lag is, of course, frustrating. When it doesn't lag, it's great. Also, the workflow setup can be a little confusing. Thankfully the reps are readily available and helpful when you need them. **What problems is QuickBooks Workforce solving and how is that benefiting you?** GoCo is our primary HRIS provider and our benefits portal. We run payroll in a separate system, but the integration seems to work flawlessly. I appreciate the GoCo reminders about syncing payroll changes. Again, very easy to use. ### 40.
