QGIS is a great tool to analyze geospatial data that is also freeware. I love that it basically does everything other software like ArcGIS does but has the advantage of being affordable to own. It has extensive plugins like EPANET that I use to exploit or analyze my data extensively, which is a huge plus for me since I don't have to export the information.
