"A Brilliant Coding Partner, If You Have the RAM to Feed It"
5/5
What do you like best about PyCharm?

What I love best about PyCharm is that it feels like a patient partner watching your back. It doesn’t just let you type; it truly understands your code.

Before you even hit run, it gently flags typos, missing brackets, or unused imports, saving you from silly bugs. Everything you need—a built-in terminal, Git, and package management—is ready out of the box, with zero setup headaches. Plus, its visual debugger replaces clumsy print() statements so you can see live data instantly.

PyCharm handles the messy, frustrating parts of coding so you can just focus on building cool things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PyCharm?

What frustrates me most about PyCharm is how heavy and slow it can feel.

It eats up massive amounts of RAM, turning your computer sluggish and your fan into a jet engine. The worst part is the endless "Indexing..." screen—open a project to fix one quick typo, and you’re stuck waiting minutes while it freezes basic features. Starting it up takes ages compared to lighter editors, and the screen feels cluttered with too many tiny buttons.

It’s powerful, but when you just want to write a quick script without burning through system memory, it often feels like total overkill. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
