This may be a barrier to those that do not have the funds, there are few downsides to using Practical Law. **What problems is Practical Law solving and how is that benefiting you?** Working in a newly set up legal department and having Practical Law provide useful resources in helping guide our operations and services. Also, appreciate that there are no client charges within Practical Law Connect (Practice Point). (This title that G2Crowd is wrong - it USED to be called Practice Point, now Practical Law Connect). **What do you dislike about Practical Law?** I sometimes find the landing page for the practice areas to be over-saturated in news rather than other features, such as documents, cases, etc. **Recommendations to others considering Practical Law:** The support team for PLC is fantastic and I have used them several times via chat, email, and phone. PLC is helpful if you are doing a 'crash course' in a specific area of law and don't want to run up client charges (in Westlaw, if that is how your company has set up). You are able to search and get the litigation side but also the Practical Law features with documents, checklists, toolkits, etc. The browse by content type is a great feature if you know exactly what you are looking for or have a citation. **What problems is Practical Law solving and how is that benefiting you?** use it for quick research on specific issues in law - the dropdown menus within each practice area are easy to navigate and offer great specific topics for each area. ### 13. Prior to starting any new project or discussing one with other executives it provides a useful background to guide the conversation and make sure key areas are addressed. **What do you dislike about Practical Law?** The information is a mile wide and often only an inch deep. While it gives you an overview that is helpful it lacks the depth that expert practitioners need to actively guide or manage a project or resolution of a complex issue. **Recommendations to others considering Practical Law:** Make sure to give the product a thorough test drive and try it out on a problem or issue you are actually facing. Also the contract is generally non-negotiable however the evergreen provision can be amended upon request. **What problems is Practical Law solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have used practical law to research best practices related to a variety of real estate and business transactions, including structuring of joint ventures and construction matters. The content is high quality and can also readily be understood by non-attorney readers (for the most part). ### 15. It’s a helpful tool for general overviews on specific topics, such as certain transaction types as well as certain speciality areas.
