"Perfect Lineage Traceability for Thin Power BI Reports"

What do you like best about Power BI Documenter?

We needed full traceability of lineage between many report files and the master model that feeds them. This is a challenge for "thin" report files since they are separated from the model, per best practice, but this makes the lineage task significantly more difficult. What do you dislike about Power BI Documenter?

I don't have any complaints. I am actually impressed with how the developers have been able to keep up with changes that are constantly made in the Power BI back-end. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Power BI Documenter solving and how is that benefiting you?

With the lineage between models and reports documented, we could safely reduce our model size by removing unnecessary tables and fields, without worrying about the impact on downstream assets. Power BI Documenter is also able to ascertain lineage for less mainstream usage such as "Column Sort By" and "Visual Calculations". Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
