## PostHog Reviews
 ### 1. Very early into this, but very impressed by the product offering and the company.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin N. | Senior Developer and Project Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Again, still new to it at this point, but I'm very impressed by all the features. I was looking for a GA4 alternative. Didn't realize I would find that and session replays, a/b testing, etc. in that alternative.

I really like the company attitude and style as well.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I haven't been using it long enough to hit a real issue. So far it is delivering as promised. But I might have a few complaints 6 months from now as I progress.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google analytics has lost its way - both in how they have evolved their product and in the trustworthiness of their stats. I don't want AI sampled insights. And I don't want a data set that has been blocked by 50% or more of users.

 ### 2. Posthog makes it easy to report on complex data

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark S. | Team Lead Developer Relations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

PostHog makes it easy to generate rich reports from complex website data. Their interface for creating reports is great. And the ability to use SQL like queries makes it easy to generate reports that showcase granular events. I've used other analytics tools before and always found them too complex to use, making it difficult to understand what the reports were showing. PostHog has found a way to make this potentially complex task very easy an intiutive.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

It doesn't quite support all SQL features, so sometimes I'll run into query errors that can be unclear to solve.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog lets me see what content is the most popular on our website and how users are getting to it.

 ### 3. The smoothest experience ever!

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Nothing :) It’s awesome and the best tool out there

Tracking website performance, creating funnels, web analytics, llm monitoring and analytics

 ### 4. Incredible flexiblity and feature offering

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

PostHog is very easy to implement and start using and provides a large catalogue of product analytics features and tools. Support feels personal and their start-up perks are great.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Some parts of PostHog (such as some filtering operations) feel a bit beta-quality right now.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us implement product/mobile app analytics in our main product.

 ### 6. Migrating from Amplitude to PostHog

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rafael Q. | Engineering Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2023

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

The free tier is generous, and setup was really simple. The SDK is straightforward and it's easy to follow up events in the interface.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The fact that an identify event goes through your quota is a bit misleading as it essentially will cost 1 event per user even if they do not generate any tracked event.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Get insights on how users interact with my app.

Run A/B tests and experiments in order to have a definite answer about if a change is impactful (e.g. when assessing conversion).

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Niall F. | Head of Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Easy set up, everything from simple event tracking with autocapture to get you started, to more advanced events implementation, feature flags, A/B testing and surveys. We're pre-seed, so we're finding Posthog super useful for gathering evidence of PMF for our next raise. The pricing is very transparent, and unbelievably cheap for what you get. Great documentation and community.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Not a whole lot to dislike. Some of the UI takes a while to get used to, as there are so many things packed into one screen.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing us as an early startup to analyze behaviour and move quickly, and gather evidence of our stickiness for PMF and raise.

 ### 9. Best analytics tool for your webapp

Nothing so far! Everything seems there although I think a few features that Amplitude has I haven't found yet.

We need full-featured metrics to measure engagement.

 ### 16. PostHog is analytics magic for our startup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Camilo P. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

As a startup, we've found PostHog to be an incredibly useful and easy-to-use analytics platform. The wide range of features lets us track and analyze user behavior across our product, which provides valuable insights to guide our decision making. And the integration process has been smooth - we use several different frameworks but have had no issues implementing PostHog.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Honestly, there's not much to dislike. The dashboard can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming with all the different options and metrics, but that's probably just the learning curve of getting up to speed with such a powerful tool. The documentation is quite helpful though. Our only real complaint is that we didn't discover PostHog sooner!

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog has saved us a ton of time and hassle by consolidating our data and making it easy for anyone to explore. We've been able to seriously level up our analytics game - going way beyond basic pageview tracking to really understand our users. PostHog is letting us iterate faster and make smarter decisions, which is huge for our product development.

 ### 17. Posthog the richest product analytics there is

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Max C. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

The fact that it provides such an easy way to implement and access useful and powerful tools that help us build the best products!

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

So far I cannot find anything that I don't like about it.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need a better view about the way our users are using our services and how we can improve the conversion rates. Posthog gives us an easy access to the user's point of view so we can tackle the exact blind spots.

 ### 18. The friendliest analytics platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fernando M. | Head Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I've been using Google Analytics for a long, long time. Everything and everything is possible, but at a cost: your sanity. Nothing is easy, nothing is testable. Any change takes hours to reflect.

And here comes PostHog, recommended to me by a colleague: easy to implement, extendable, configurable, with docs which make sense, and a friendly support. It could not be any more pleasant to use. Every feature I needed was there, ready to use, with friendly tools and even SDKs to help me get started faster. And it works incredible well with single-page applications!

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The only thing to dislike is how they aren't more aggressive with marketing. I didn't hear about them, even after years of using analytics!

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Analytics for our web site and understanding user frustrations.

 ### 19. Super seamless amongst all analytics platforms

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jayesh B. | Development team lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

The generous free tier with straightforward pricing is extremely easy to create adoption and sell the tool internally

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Not a lot yet, groups should be a default feature;

Filtering on shared dashboards would also be a requirement instead of having to speak to sales.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to track product usage while also easily sharing usage metrics with our clients; helps with clarity on usage based pricing;

 ### 20. Great for tracking product performance

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Straightforward setup, easy to navigate!

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Too many functions packed for a small startup

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Set up a dashboard to track our email campaign performance and conduct funnel analysis

 ### 21. Great open source analytics tool with self-hosted option

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evan M. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

We wanted heatmaps and session recordings, bu we also needed to retain custody over our data, PostHog checked all the boxes. They make self-hosting easy. Integrating with our site was easy too.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

There are some features that are not available on the self-hosted version. For example if you want to monitoring multiple domains on one dashboard, then you'll need to pay.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to see user behavior on a dashboard through sessions replay and heatmaps. We also needed to have custody over our data.

 ### 22. As a young startup founder, Potshog Analytics has helped me improve my product a ton!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tristan M. | CEO, Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

My favorite thing about Posthog is how simple it is to get everything set up on the platform. Some other competitors made it difficult to set up for my Webflow website, but not Posthog!
I've been using session replays and tracking my session time grow over time after making little tweaks on my website, and now the average session duration is close to 4 minutes! Super excited about that, check it out at https://www.invisretail.com

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I wish Posthog would make surveys easier to customize. Watching session replays, I've been noticing that the first interaction users do is often close the survey in the corner. If I could implement a delay so it doesn't appear until halfway down the page, (in an easy to do way like how easy it is to set up your other features) that would be ideal and allow me to get further insights about what my customers like, in open response format.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog is solving the problem of not being able to understand why visitors on your page aren't converting or requesting to learn more. Noticing bottlenecks or bugs on the website has been a huge benefit I've seen using PostHog

 ### 23. Posthog has made features flags simple

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Setting up the library and feature flags has been a dream. It was very easy to get started and the pricing fits our budget and use case, love to see companies that don't gouge on per seat pricing.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Group analytics and group feature flags could definitely use some more love, it feels like an afterthought and it took us a while to get our use case setup with company level flags.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple feature flags and user analytics.

 ### 24. Great product overall

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gunwoo K. | Co-founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I only use web analytics for now, and it provides session replay, which is critical to understand user behaviors.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Nothing special yet. I can judge after I migrate everything.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Session replay is critical to understand user behaviors.

 ### 25. I used posthog on multiple project and i recommend to use it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

It's easy to setup, easy to create dashboard. I love the feature of session replay

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I think the filter UX in insight, it can be complicated sometimes

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's help to analyse the traffic in my app, and to see the UX problem in my product

 ### 26. Posthog rocks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I like how easy it was to set up across my react and react native products

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

some of the insights are overwhelming (but just a learning curve)

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking user interactions

 ### 27. Great analytics platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Easy view of user interactions and ability to customize metrics

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

UI can be a bit tricky to navigate in the platform

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Session replay to understand user intent in our platform

 ### 28. Great software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

- Really great UI/UX
- Easy to setup
- Good free tier

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The error tracking feature could be more furnished

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Analyzing retention and error tracking on multiple devices from my clients

 ### 29. Choice overload, but powerful tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

PostHog installation was very easy & came with several tools "out of the box". It automatically detected user page changes & recorded sessions with very little set up.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

There are a lot of metrics & ways to slice up those metrics. This makes a new user a bit confused about the "best" way to utilize the software -- seems like there's a lot of ways to get the same info, but it's not always clear which is best.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog is giving us insights in how users interact with the product without us walking them through it. It feels like a more honest view at how users use the features.

 ### 30. Easy to Implement AB Testing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

We have been using PostHog for A/B Testing UI elements using their client SDK, so far the interoperability of analytics, AB Test Experiments and Feature Flags that make the whole suite has been nice.

As a developer implementing posthog is pretty straightforward. Have had good experience with the support team as they helped out while we were trying out the product.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The analytics UI can be improved as per my opinion, as I found it to have some friction while generating insights using the metrics logged by posthog. Otherwise the product has been good.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have started A/B Test experiments with PostHog, helping us with out design & marketing operations primarily right now. Which has solved a big challenge in generating insights and doubling down on important metrics to boost growth.

 ### 31. The all in one platform for our product led growth analytics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcos M. | CoFounder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Before PostHog, we were juggling different platforms for session recordings, funnels, surveys, and notifications. Managing and extracting value from scattered information across multiple platforms was challenging. However, with PostHog, everything now operates seamlessly.

Another standout aspect is their support. After a deployment on our end, session recordings suddenly stopped working. Upon opening a ticket, a PostHog engineer promptly created an account on our SaaS platform and swiftly diagnosed the root cause of the issue. They also proposed several solutions to resolve the problem.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I don't have any complaints at the moment. We're quite pleased with this platform and look forward to gaining more users to enhance our insights further.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The user onboarding funnel analytics and session recordings are the features we use the most.

 ### 32. It is pretty powerful with intuitive setup process. Documentation is good.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Session recording and product analytics. Feature flag

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Design is a little over the top. Personally a minimal experience could be more desirable.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I want to learn more about how users are using new features.

 ### 33. Very useful but slightly overwhelming tracking tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Easy to install and fun to use. I really like their hedgehog mascot. They offer tutorials for all kinds of integrations which is nice.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Not all metrics were easy to understand.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me better understand who and how many people visit my site, how they use it and if they return.
This is especially valuable to better quantify the current marketing efforts.

 ### 34. Easy metrics, surveys... anything, in seconds

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pol V. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

- Useful products built inside a single Dashboard.
- Pretty easy to use.
- Easy to integrate: install a package and add 2 lines.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

- Maybe with so many stuff it's getting a bit clutered
- Finding exact documentation is sometimes hard due to high amounts of it.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Web Analytics: PostHog includes a pretty robust web analytics product that replaces any alternative out there for me.
Events: I can keep track of tons of events in my code and website, and different dashboards, like a sign up funnel, server stats, etc.

 ### 35. SotA Analytics Tool | Rich feature set out-of-the-box

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

A faster integration is actually not possible. Out-of-the-box direct access to a rich feature set. After - still manageable - integration, very individual tracking.
I have used everything from GA to Mixpanel over several years and find PostHog the best.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The initial "promotional" emails after signing up are a bit much. I like receiving emails when new features are actually introduced, but follow-up emails after the first use of PostHog are not necessary.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Without good analytics, one is blind. Especially when validating new products, designs, customer profiles, etc., good analytics are essential to make data-driven decisions. Later on, analytics also offer a kind of smoke test for bugs that indirectly worsen usage.

 ### 36. Amazing product analytics platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jack Z. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

PostHog is a feature rich product analytics platform. It is super simple to integrate and has an intuitive user interface. It also have an extremely generous free tier. I highly recommend taking a look at PostHog for your web product analytics needs.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**
