## PostHog Reviews
  ### 1. Easy AF - A bit pricey

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna H. | Co-Founder, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2023

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Disclaimer: I've only utilized PostHog as POC and we ultimately decided to go with another company due to pricing.

Pros:
- Easy to implement (docs are well written and straightforward)
- Works with legacy platforms/projects (huzzah!)
- Just goes once you've done minimal setup. It's nice really.

I haven't tried all features. My company was focused on feature flags and A/B testing as a starter (we use another company for replays and other things). The features I tried were simple to add to the project and easy to see results from.

All in all - they are exactly as they claim - simple to setup and get going, and get results.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Cons:
- Pricing structure is complicated (which it's hard not to be with the model they have, but it makes it complicated for us to estimate)
- The fact that all site hits count against the quota makes it hard to swallow things like page views and page leaves that just rack up cost - especially when there are so many other (free) options for these things. I'd rather cut out page views and page leaves and leave them else where . . . but then you're piecemealing for pricing and that's never a good idea.

And I am concerned about the longevity of the company. It doesn't seem like they're focusing on customers currently - more their own internal team (which is a great period of growth for any company, so kudos). I feel like they've mostly "set" their feature set and are working on internal growth at this point.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Needing me to write your executive summary? :D

PostHog offers a solution for us to create and implement feature flags for A/B testing quickly and easy. I was running a test in less than an hour.

  ### 2. Analytics that isn't crazy until you want it

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

It is simple to setup and they provide a lot under their free tier

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

You can tell their primary and first market was the web and mobile hasn't gotten the same level of support/features

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing for viewing sessions to review issues from users and monitor how users use the app

  ### 3. Integration was easy and session replays have been very useful

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Pricing is ideal. I've used a number of session replay tools and this one has the best pricing and a good DX. Love that we can invite our whole team without having to pay per seat. Installing replays was actually really simple.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Replays tend to buffer for seemingly long periods of time.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted better information on our user behavior, especially when they report experiencing issues. We debated on a number of tools to do that and ultimately landed on PostHog because of the good developer experience and the reasonable usage-based pricing.

  ### 4. Blazing Fast: From Implementation to Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

The implementation was incredibly fast—only a few lines of code in each file, and we were already gathering a lot of data in just a few days. It makes insights easy to understand for all teams (UI/UX, Dev, Sales).

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

It may lack a few data visualizations, like a country map instead of the world map, to display cities more effectively. Also, the session replay UI could be improved for small laptop screens. But overall, it’s a very good product.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not all of our customers make it to the very end of our process, and PostHog helps us understand why through session replays and funnels.

  ### 5. A Game-Changer for Product Analytics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maciej P. | Senior Full Stack .NET Developer , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

PostHog is easy to use and offers powerful event tracking and clear visualizations. It’s great for monitoring user behavior and trends. The option to self-host ensures our data stays private and secure. Plus, it integrates well with other tools we use.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The initial setup can be tricky if you're new to analytics. Some advanced features need technical know-how. But overall, it’s a very useful tool.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog gives us real-time insights into user behavior, helping us improve our product. This leads to better user retention, higher conversions, and a smoother user experience. It's been a big boost for our team’s productivity and effectiveness.

  ### 6. Best analytics platform so far

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

The Screen Replay feature, the survey, and how all the useful features are in one place

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Nothing so far, the experience has been pretty great in comparision to the tools i have tried

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking analytics and with the session replay i can see how users are navigating through the website and especially what's stopping them from signing up

  ### 7. A great analytics product for early startups

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lince m. | developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

We dont have money to buy pro features of a analytics APP. But Posthog gives as a lot of good features including session replay and more. Highly useful for early startups without spending too much money.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Nothing everything good so far. great product.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

debuggings. checking user engagement analytics etc.

  ### 8. Great product for both engineers and product managers

Product analytics and feature flags for our SaaS product

  ### 9. Just Works, And does (almost) anything I could ever ask for

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trent M. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I love that basically anything we could want to know for marketing is either already available from Hour 0 (heatmaps, clickmaps, rageclicks), or 1 click away (session replay). It's great having session replay and event tracking integrated together, makes drilling down deep into anything super simple.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I wish PostHog had a drop-in error tracking/aggregation solution. PostHog is better than Sentry in every single way but I feel like I need to have both if I want the full picture of my apps quality. The web bundle is also kinda big and un-treeshakable but that's not a huge deal.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

drilling deep into convertion funnels, seo/analytics, affordable session replays. Helps us find where users are getting confused/stuck/dropping off

  ### 10. Great developer experience, simple to setup, good data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

PostHog is a really good tool helping us log all user activity and recall an action a user did (or thinks he did) to help troubleshoot a problem quickly.
It also helps us have an overview of our active users across different time frames and also all our users with an option to group them and filter them without accessing the database directly.
The implementation from a developers' perspective was really easy to setup and to group users by clients. Everything worked as expected by default.
Now any employee that needs access to some data about our users can easily create his own or use an existing dashboard to see what they require.
Session replay is also really useuful to see where users are rage clicking in our app so we can improve these areas.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Each user needs to have a username. You cant bind an email to be the ID, but that's a minor annoyance in semantics.
Would be nice if we could "trigger" a session replay save from the React side when something bad happens instead of recording every (or random) sessions.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Seeing all our users and grouping them by client. Solving rage click issues users are having. Filtering data to see which endpoints and the most popular etc.

  ### 11. Ease of use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** João M. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

How easy it is to setup and how many options there are!

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The interface is cool looking but I got lost a few times.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly the session replay.

  ### 12. Sweet and easy integration.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Useful features and ease of integration.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

No issues so far. The features we use are simple to configure and it was easy to implement them.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are collecting UI analytics, re-watching users sessions and using feature flags. Many UI painpoints handled by one solution.

  ### 13. Best in class onboarding with features and pricing to match

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Having a set of complimentary services all withing a single provider that you can progressively adopt as you grow into the need makes early product development so much easier.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Not found anything so far they have everything I have needed.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to safely make changes across our products while also being able to assess the impact and success of these changes. Previously this was two if not three seperate products each with higher costs and effort to integrate.

  ### 14. Easiest way to integrate any logging you want

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rishabh R. | SDE 2, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

The integration was super simple and seamless. Very easy to use and implement in my app.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The session replays messed up with the actual colors of my website. Though it did provided what I wanted majorly, it would have been great to retain the colors as well.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog is your one stop solution for observability, metrics and logging. Session replays is one of my favorites.

  ### 15. Simple installation, excellent tooling and broad feature set

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Wide breadth of feature set all in one place is excellent. Making it easy to integrate into a HIPAA compliant platform is also a huge plus

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Some of the documentation on installation steps is a bit stale and/or at times between two parallel set of documentation (e.g. Next.Js installation and Sentry integration in Next( there are gaps between the two when there should be 1:1 overlap

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easily configurable feature flags and event capture

  ### 16. Feature complete, easy to use and good pricing model

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leonardo F. | Founding Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Posthog offers all the good things you need building a SaaS: analytics, recordings, feature flags and more. Recordings are very useful for me as I am building a 0 to 1 product.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Documentation is often the place where companies need improvement, so I'd suggest always improving that (but I don't see this as a "dislike" right now)

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recording is often expensive and their price model is very generous

  ### 17. Powerful, affordable, well-structured analytics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

- Easy to set up
- Powerful out of the box, especially with the automatic data point collection
- Affordable for a long time

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

- The many, many types of analytics can get confusing to use all together
- Creating custom events is tricky

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing web and product analytics for software products. It benefits me by providing me informatio about how people are using my software, so I can build it better.

  ### 18. Best product tracking and event tracking platform I've used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shaumik M. | Founding Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Easy to use out of the box and setup is effortless

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The product is very frontend heavy with a lot of just webpage tracking.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It tracks all usage of user and how users are using our product. Having granular details about what the users are doing helps us improve our own product.

  ### 19. A great substitute for Google Optimize

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roger O. | Technical Lead, Retail, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

What I like the best about PostHog is their integration with many frameworks, especially Next.js, you give the developer all the power to customize the AB Testing experiments.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

What I dislike about PostHog is the lack of detailed tutorials to show how to implement real-life cases AB Testing

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog is helping us to run AB Testing in our Headless website.

  ### 20. PostHog is the most complete product analytics solution I've come across so far

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Contains a lot of the features that you usually need to mesh together a bunch of different tools in a single place in a way that is easy to cross-reference and access data on customers or different flows from your application.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

It can be a little bit overwhelming or cranky figuring out some specific flows or building some funnels

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are building internal tools, gathering feedback, and improving based on usage that we observe from it.

  ### 21. Easy and cheap to get started, will loads of features bundled into one service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I like that your features scale affordably and you offer tools like surveys and feature flags directly integrated with product and web analytics. I like that you can follow users and groups of users over time.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Like any analytics tools, understanding all of the various metrics can be challenging.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My main goal for the project I currently have on PostHog is for basic web analytics. However, my next project will be a much more involved site involving user authentication and frequent feature iterations. The A/B testing, feature flags, and surveys will be very valuable to me.

  ### 22. PostHog's user recordings showed us exactly how people use our app. It's been incredibly helpful.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

The user recordings feature. It lets us see exactly how people interact with our app, which has been incredibly insightful for our team.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Sometimes the user interface can be a bit overwhelming with all its features. It took us some time to fully understand how to use everything effectively.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog is solving our challenge of understanding user behavior within our SaaS app. The user recordings feature shows us exactly how people interact with our product, revealing usability issues and user journeys we couldn't see before. This is benefiting us by allowing our team to make more informed decisions about product improvements, ultimately leading to a better user experience.

  ### 23. Using posthog for every my project

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Hardware | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Easy to setup and implement to many frameworks. Big and good quality documentation. Very good UX on dashboard.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Some less popular frameworks are not included in documentation.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Feture flag is the best featurte on post hog along with a/b testing because I dont need to creat this type of system on my backend

  ### 24. Great all in one UX monitoring tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mathis G. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

The tools give great visibility on how users use the product. Also is a big help debugging problems that have slipped passed tests. Was easy to get started with even our semi obscure tech stack and now have great visibility.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Did not find a great way to tune down the auto-capture events. Does not need all that granularity so it use events for nothing.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gives great visibility on the good and the bad sides of the UX.

  ### 25. Fully packaged suite of behavioural analytics tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Farming | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I love the fact that it contains everything I need to conduct good analysis and that everything works very well together.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

One downside may be that it's heatmap functionality is not as good, or as thorough, as some alternatives.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can see how users are using our internal application and what parts they use most, what parts they use least, what process they follow and how we can improve our front-end experience and make internal processes more effective.

  ### 26. Great product with a focus on good developer experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I enjoyed the simplicity of integrating PostHog services into our application. There is ample documentation for multiple languages and frameworks that made things easy to implement. I also appreciated their transparency in their business/pricing strategy, and how it made it easy to communicate the cost to my company's leaders so that I could advocate for adoption of PostHog.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I dislike the limits on the number of projects currently for the tier plan that we are on. I think if the Feature Flags service had support for more environments out of the box so that we didn't have to use different projects to serve as different environments, that would be helpful.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Feature rollout across environments without having to redeploy code. Improving our CI/CD process through the use of feature flags.

  ### 27. An easy to use tool for site analytics, though cost is a factor

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Easy to set up and has a lot of useful features.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I think it is quite expensive when we start logging a lot of sessions. It will be difficult to manage session logging costs and still get useful session replays.

It is a little difficult to understand the different analytics available. I am not sure how to relate session IDs and "people" in the analytics.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We would like to understand how our users use our site/tool and to see where they are having difficulty finding features or what features they gravitate towards.

  ### 28. Amazing plug and play

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alberto J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I was amazed that just by including the dependency and setting up the PostHog Client (less than 10 lines of code) I could see all the events the users generated with rich details and in near real time. Things like knowing the text of the buttons right away from the UI when you don't have much traffic is super useful.

I thought that was it, for more functionality I would have to write more lines of code but then I enabled session replays and I was mind blown that I didn't have to do anything else to see exactly what each user was doing inside my site.

After the success of the previous two experiences I decided to try my luck with the dashboards, I didn't look at any tutorials or documentation and in less than ten minutes I had the insights I wanted in my default dashboard.

Eager to try out the surveys and notebooks.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I have seen some reliability issues from time to time.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knowing with detail what my users do with very little effort.

  ### 29. I love PostHog

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Siya B. | Dev & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

The session replays and custom events are awesome. I love being able to see what my users do and where they get stuck. I use PostHog every day, it's super easy to implement. The integration was so easy. Took me minutes.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The documentation is kind of insufficient. I had to dig to really find stuff relevant to NextJS and the Customer Support hub doesn't really have the info.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can see exactly where my users get stuck without them having to specifically reach out to me. I see how the website looks on different devices around the world, where they come from, how long they stay etc.

**Official Response from Joe Martin:**

> Hey Siya - Thanks for this feedback. We'd actually love to know more about your experience with the docs, so we can make this work better in the future. I'd love to know where you were looking for the NextJS info, for example. You can drop me a message at the link below, and I'd be happy to send you some merch credit as a thanks for your time!

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Graphs and charts can be made better and also the time to load data can be improved a bit.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Implementation of A/B testing and letting us know which one works best.

  ### 33. Great tracking tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paweł S. | iOS Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2024

What I like best about PostHog is how easy it is to start and use. The intuitive interface and clear visualizations make tracking and analyzing user behavior a breeze, even for beginners.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I haven't really experieinced anything so far that I particularly dislike

Primarily product metrics and testing new products at speed.

  ### 37. Posthog - Our Experience

instant metric updates, session replays and data representation

  ### 39. Excellent platform for product data analytics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam B. | Head of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

We love the session replays, feature toggles and product data analytics. The free tier is fair and we're looking forward to PostHog helping us understand our users and grow our business. The fact we can have data analytics, feature toggle, session replays and a/b testing (not tried this yet) in one platform is fantastic and I feel like we're just seeing the tip of the iceberg with what we can do. Integration was very easy with JS snippets for Google Tag Manager, or React/JS libraries for the frontend and server side for feature toggles and a/b testing. We get it implemented very quickly and immediately saw the benefits of from all the data we're gathering. The customer support was great too, as they helped us just record session replays on certain pages to keep within their free tier

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

There's very little to dislike, the platform works great and has a fair free tier to get started so nothing to complain about!

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding our user's behaviour and then feature toggles for controlling access to new features. We're also going to start A/B testing in the near future so we're looking forward to seeing how that works in the platform

  ### 40. Easy to install, very valuable insights

  ### 41. Great results

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I think the postHog is very useful in order to understand what my clients are doing and how they are doing.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

There is a lot of information that is very hard to find.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understand what and how my clients are using my product

  ### 42. Very good, UX could be better, but the features are great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I like that I can get a lot of insights about our users and the problems they are facing

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The UX is slightly cluttered, and could be cleaner

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can see where users are stuck and which features they really use

  ### 43. Overall impressed but a bit confused

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johan M. | Co founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

The one stop shop. Easy(ish) setup. Pricing that works to get started with. Product focus instead of ecommrerse

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

A bit unclear on how to get started and max productivity.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MVP KPIs. Product releases, funnels

  ### 44. A powerful and easy to Implement Open-source analytics solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel J. | Full Stack/Blockchain Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

PostHog is such a powerful analytics tool that will replace google analytics for me. Super easy to implement with really great guides covering a wide variety of sdks and frameworks showing how to make the most of Posthog. And the fact its fully open source where you can even self-host the platform is so amazing to me. The autocapture futures, the product analytics, custom event capturing with super readable names, and a powerful platform to easily visualize the capture analytics are so good. There's a lot more to say but this tool is a much needed one to make user experiences better

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Honestly nothing too much for me to dislike about PostHog. It's been a very great experience so far.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its solving the issue of analytics. Theo.gg's video on why you shouldn't use google analytics was something I was glad I stumbled upon. Because I know with PostHog I have a reliable platform to track certain analytics to help improve users experience. And just to see how the website is doing overall.

  ### 45. Tonnes of features executed excellently!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I mostly use Posthog for Feature Flag implementation and A/B testing, which it does very well.
Compared to other offering the technical implementation was easy (in NextJS / Python), and the reporting features are great too!

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Sometimes documentation topics can be duplicated with some articles being more up-to-date than others, which can lead to some confusion when implementing.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Implementing A/B testing and feature flagging

  ### 46. Talk about wow! Needed no nonsense, wheels + tools included solution - PostHog has it all

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh P. | Principle Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Integrating up PostHog was simple and easy. It took me half an hour at most to swap from Split.io to PostHog, which is great.

I need something that had great support for cohorts with feature flags, and PostHog fit the bill. Now i dont have to be scared to frequently setup feature flags and be unsure if it will work. With PostHog I know it will work!

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I'm yet to find anything I don't like? Seriously, setup was almost painless.

The only thing I could have liked a little bit more documentation on was how to add properties to people - I ended up getting it work, but it wasn't clear how to do it when only woking with feature flags

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Feature flags is the key feature at the moment, excited to use more when we have time to embed it!

  ### 47. Easy to integrate and seamlessly collects data, clunky dashboard and ability to create insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Super easy to integrate into our next.js application, screen capture out the box, even added our postgres tables

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Bit clunky to create insights, graphs tend to break, slow

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collecting product analytics and session replays for a prototype

  ### 48. Posthog en Pulpo

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Parango . | Product, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Today, PostHog helps us view the replays of our users’ sessions. We are testing the analytics feature to replace Mixpanel.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The team didn’t like the aesthetics. Honestly, it’s not that important because everything works, except for the account image upload, but that’s irrelevant… everything seems to be in its place.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can see the actions our users take to provide better support. We are also interested in knowing the events that happen in our application, so we will continue improving our product area.

  ### 49. My Go-To for Geeky Analytics Fun

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henry K. | Advisor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Jumping into PostHog was like finding my tribe. It's got this vibe that's just... for devs, you know? The docs are a game-changer—clear, concise, and they actually make sense (a rare find in the dev world). It's like they've got your back before you even know you need it. And the people? Haven't jumped deep into the community pool yet, but the few splashes I've made? Super responsive. Feels good knowing there's help around the corner if you hit a snag.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

It's not all smooth sailing—hit a few bumps here and there. Nothing that made me want to jump ship, though. The crew behind PostHog seems to be on it, patching holes even before they become real problems.

More specifically, had some issues with their feature flags. So I implemented my own instead.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog has been like finding a secret weapon in my coding arsenal. Before, understanding user interactions felt like guesswork, but now it's like having X-ray vision into how users engage with my projects. It cuts through the clutter, giving me crystal-clear insights that guide my decisions. No more piecing together analytics from different sources; PostHog brings it all under one roof, making my life a heck of a lot easier. It's not just about avoiding mistakes; it's about doubling down on what works, refining my approach, and delivering features that users actually want. This isn't just data for the sake of data; it's actionable intelligence that's supercharged my development process, saving me time, and boosting my confidence in every update I roll out. With PostHog, I'm not just coding; I'm creating with purpose, and that's been a game-changer.

  ### 50. Amazing GA alternative

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2024

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

- Simplicity of integration vs GA
- Flexibility on which data can be retrieved
- Ease of use to visualize data

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Cross-domain tracking with alias / identify can get confusing because the only way to really 'merge' accounts is using merge_dangerously

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visualizing results of ad campaigns
