You can easily continue working and export the mindmaps. The colour scheme is also good. **What do you dislike about Popplet?** nothing, the app is ideal for education, both in primary and in secondary. We haven't had any problems so far. When you touch the pencil it adds a blank drawing. You can't see it, but it's there and then you can't make the box smaller. That's annoying because often the children don't realize they touched the pencil. **Recommendations to others considering Popplet:** It is one of the must have apps for schools. Primary and Secondary students can use it with ease. It is very easy to export the mindmap as an image. **What problems is Popplet solving and how is that benefiting you?** Children can work all by themselves to make mindmaps. If you need to, you can go back and forth through the steps. I like that popplet is student friendly and the students can choose their own topic to create an organizer for. Also, popplet is great for students that have troubles with brainstorming ideas for writing. If students have log in information, they will be able to save their work and go back to complete their organizer the next time they come to the computer lab. **What do you dislike about Popplet?** You can't change the title of each popple with the free account. I twould be nice if the free account allowed students to change the title of each popple instead of it saying "name" on all of the popples. If they could change the name, it would help the students to organize their graphic organizer better. **Recommendations to others considering Popplet:** Popplet is a great tool for elementary students to show what they know or what they learned. **What problems is Popplet solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am a computer lab teacher and I have demonstrated how to use Popplet in my classroom. The students can use this to create brainstorming webs after reading about a topic. I have realized that the students can easily create a Popplet organizer because the steps are easy to follow. The students can take pictures to add to their popplet organizer. When the students create the graphic organizer they will be able to type a report about their topic using the graphic organize. I have realized that popplet is helpful for students that have a hard time with the writing steps. This organizer helps them to organize their ideas before writing the paragraphs. ### 3. As we have a license for our entire school district, it is great for use all the way from elementary school to high school! Students find it easy to use as well as teachers. Many programs we have piloted in the past, the learning curve for students and teachers, has been to hard. But with Popplet, it is very user-friendly and easy to manipulate and use. **What do you dislike about Popplet?** It is a little bit pricey to buy a district license, especially with budget cuts happening. Still think that it is worth it though. **What problems is Popplet solving and how is that benefiting you?** I like that it is a way for students to organize their thoughts in a brainstorming fashion first that fosters creativity. They can then go in and create a more "finalized" version that they could present. It is beneficial for students and teachers alike and we truly get our money's worth in our school district. It has saved us money on buying the Microsoft Suite for every computer. One of the biggest benefits is that it can be accessed anywhere and any device with their login and internet access. This is unlike PowerPoint, in which you must save on a thumb-drive or have the actual laptop it is saved on. ### 4. I function best when I have clear visuals, and as a visual person and learner, I best when I can spitball ideas and see spatial relations and connections between topics and resources. I love that I can open it up to contributors and get their take, and that I can modify things easily or remove and set aside things when I change where I'm going with a topic or idea. **What do you dislike about Popplet?** The platform crashes frequently. I've had to reload and refresh and lost sometimes significant amounts of work over time with Popplet because there have been issues with its sync. **Recommendations to others considering Popplet:** Be sure to refresh your popplet regularly to ensure up-to-date sync. I've lost significant work in the past, so I am diligent about making sure my work is saved now. I truly can't recommend Popplet high enough for the visual, non-linear thinkers and learners out there. It makes SUCH a difference in being able to put all of my ideas to "paper" to process through them! **What problems is Popplet solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use endless post-its when working on large projects because I have constant thoughts flying around in my head. I used to have a wall section dedicated to organizing my post-its in my office. I've eliminated my post-it parking lot, and am able to quickly draw on the resources I've identified while contemplating and planning my next work projects. I use this for my litigation work, my teaching work, and my political work. It truly is an invaluable tool that allows me to get my non-linear thoughts out and recorded before I bounce to the next thought. I use this in my planning and execution phases to make sure I'm putting together a comprehensive presentation of (evidence, information, events, etc) for my intended audience. ### 5. I do really well with being able to spitball things and have them be easily moved and changed and connected. Super easy to include photos/audio/video, and also just throw up links that connect to other ideas. I'm a very visual learner and processor, so this is the absolute PERFECT platform for **What do you dislike about Popplet?** sometimes the platform just stops responding and you lose your popplets. I've also had issues with my popplets not saving which becomes incredibly frustrating, and it's a bit complicated to turn a popplet from public to private- seems unnecessary. I wish popplet had a sort of "template" feature that would allow multiple users to access the same popplet and be able to move it around and construct and for a group of people or a class being able to have each end user use the template to create and build their own with the tools in the template **Recommendations to others considering Popplet:** Give it a try! I love this platform because I've always had significant challenges with strictly linear approaches to planning/discussing/mapping and this is the perfect solution. I can do things my way (without a million post its that fall down/get lost) and be able to save them forever- it's perfect! **What problems is Popplet solving and how is that benefiting you?** I don't do well with 2d, linear projects or planning. I love that I can do my work the same way I've always done it before- with postits, paper, and pencil, except now I can do it all digitally and keep it around forever! In order to be user-friendly, they've truly boiled it down to all the essentials students or users would need - ability to create interconnected bubbles with text. They offer basic customizations - colors, font size and alignment, and colored outlines. Beyond that, users can choose to represent text visually using an powerful image import system. Recently, Popplet also added a collaboration/sharing feature which was just what the platform and educators needed. In summary, I'm pleased with Popplet and the opportunity it offers my students to collaborate and build concept maps without getting lost in unnecessary details that similar platforms. **What do you dislike about Popplet?** While some may find it to be far too minimal and lacking features, I think it serves a purpose in education and is useful. Due to being web-based, it can lag from time to time if you have weak or unstable connection. It's a very visual learning tool, which I love to utilize when I'm really trying to dissect a topic or idea. It's super easy to use and there isn't a huge learning curve. **What do you dislike about Popplet?** While I do love the features popplet offers, I would love if it offered more. It's a little one sided sometimes and I have used other softwares that have more features. Of course, if you use it and its exactly what you need and is enough, then popplet is great for you because you only need this one service. **Recommendations to others considering Popplet:** I think its worth it to try it out to see if it fits your needs. If it does, you'll love it and be happy with its abilities! It's not complicated to understand or look at so I really appreciate the simplicity behind it.
