When navigating the help tool, at times it can be difficult to find a quick answer to your question. **What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?** Planful Solves the Problem of budgeting for the company and making reports. The structured planning tool allows for a wealth of different budgeting options. I am personally a fan using the Allocation template for easy corporate allocations when budgeting. ### 3. Planful was the best for basic functionality, quick implementation, and non-technical administration. **What do you dislike about Planful?** Just something to be aware of: We partnered with a third-party implementation partner, and the support was excellent. We engaged a different third-party consulting firm for ERP integration and technical support and received excellent support. The project management team at Planful is helpful, but I suspect most customers end up with support contracts from separate providers. Basic functionality will soon be outgrown. **What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?** Planful is a logical first step into consolidation software. As the finance organization matures, there is time to "get their feet wet" before entering a green screen implementation with more advanced alternatives, developing complex functional specifications and providing a much lower cost of entry. ### 5. It is easily configured to match the business and is easily managed by FP&A. It does not require either external or internal IT support. The data structures are strong and rigid, with is necessary for consistent reporting at the same time, they are user managed and can be designed to meet business requirements. Reporting is robust and consistent. Planful excels at producing financial statements for both business units and SG&A departments. Customer support is 24/7. **What do you dislike about Planful?** Modeling is complex. While the very act of modeling is inherently complex, the Planful interface seems even more so. Workforce planning is clunky, while a complex process, it feels like there could be a more elegant solution. Formatting (lines, colors) of standard reports is not straightforward. **What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?** Scale, Planful allows us to double to volume of business an analyst can support. Budgeting & Forecasting is more easily deployed companywide, version control is tighter. Consolidations and Eliminations are vastly simplified. And consolidating those child campaigns to get a one-screen view of parent campaign performance vs investment is so great! Planning on spreadsheets sucks. Now with Plannuh I'm easily able to plan, budget and reallocate quickly MoM or WoW even. The time saving is HUGE! The reporting to CFO/Finance whew. Next Level! Files can be uploaded and changed easily to see how the bottom line for your budget changes. **What do you dislike about Planful?** Over the years (since 2017) we run into issues during budget season where data drops from WFP and we have to reprocess employees/cubes (sometimes more than once) to get all relevant data to reflect in reports and in Spotlight. Budget is a stressful time and this just adds extra stress when we are already loading/re-loading data frequently due to budget changes. **Recommendations to others considering Planful:** The advice I give is to plan your setup ahead of time for the best results once going live. **What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?** We got away from a lot of spreadsheet use for monthly forecasting when we moved to Host/Planful and that makes our team more productive. It is good enough for what we need but could be better. For example, I should just be able to import balance sheet balances in one month, and those balances carry forward. But Planful assumes that if there are no balances uploaded in future months, then it reverses those balances out! Doesn't really make sense and I think this is a big miss with the way the data works. I have to do a lot of workarounds to make the data look like I want to sometimes. I also think Spotlight is not intuitive enough. I don't use it. I also think Planful support could be improved. We had to hire a 3rd party consultant to help with support because Planful's support was not helpful in the few questions I had. I was showing them how to answer a questions. **What problems is Planful solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used a 3rd party consultant to help build out a modeling report to combine our balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement. I could have done this in excel and it would have been more flexible, but I wouldn't have been able to combine so many different companies and currencies. In some ways the inflexibility is good, because we avoid excel formula errors which is important when forecasting over several months and years and rolling forward a lot of data from one month to the next and one year to the next. ### 42.
