What I like? I love that I can accept the project under Phrase Web, download the joined file and then continue ONLINE under Phrase Desktop with all settings. This is very useful for me as a professional translator. Phrase Desktop features and pros: - Very easy UI and layout - Powerful tool - very light and fast, I can use it even on my ultrabook - Processing e.g. 120 k word project with MTPE is very fast, scrolling works brilliant, filtering out segments works like a hurricane, almost at no time! I love compatibility with RWS Trados Studio 2024, memoQ and other CATs **What do you dislike about Phrase Localization Platform?** I do not like the file limit when I accept projects with more that 600-700 files. Another problem is terminology management - at my work, I am focused on optimization and I use customized glossaries with terminology. The feature for adding new terms requires me to use the schortcut twice and then to click required option. This does not streamline my process. Now I use the maintenance version of Phrase Desktop - 26.2.1. I am very disappointed that this desktop tool will be no longer developed. Please reconsider further develepment, indeed! It uses AI to make translations faster, which is really helpful for speeding up the process. We use the Phrase language AI quite a bit. We also use Phrase strings and Phrase TMS, and I almost use all the features. I'm happy with them. The initial setup was quite intuitive although it took me some time, I always found what I needed and it wasn’t so difficult. It's user-friendly and straightforward. **What do you dislike about Phrase Localization Platform?** Well, the pricing model is a little bit strict. Because you pay for the AI units. You pay for a number of strings or keys that are like, hung up in Phrase. So this is something that could mean the price will go really up. Differently from Trados, it's really plug-and-play. You can just focus on translation without worrying about errors, crashes, glitches, and all the "pleasant" things you have to face when you use Trados. TMs and glossaries work very well, you can integrate it with systems like DeepL, and you have a lot more help than Trados when you work (suggestions, terms, and the likes). **What do you dislike about Phrase Localization Platform?** I only have a small complaint with Memsource - it doesn't work well with high-DPI systems. In particular, I have a 4K monitor, but the interface (not the translation environment) is sometimes tiny, sometimes enormous. However, it isn't a big deal. **Recommendations to others considering Phrase Localization Platform:** I strongly advise moving to Memsource if your company or agency is using another CAT Tool. In my opinion, Memsource is the best CAT Tool available in 2019. It was the same in 2018 and I'm sure it will be in 2020 as well. It's free to use for translators. **What problems is Phrase Localization Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Memsource/Phrase is a well-designed system whose biggest advantage is that you don't have to worry about technical things like you do with Trados. I am an experienced computer user, but a lot of times Trados makes me lose more time than what I save. I suggest any translator asking their PM to switch to Memsource/Phrase for more peace of mind. We are translators, not computer technicians.
