What do you like best about Perpetum?

They took the time to understand what a forward deployed engineer means for us, rather than treating it as a standard senior developer search. The candidates we met were relevant to the actual job: people who had shipped production systems, could talk through their work, and were comfortable owning things end to end. Invest time upfront in explaining the role properly, not just the tech stack. For a non-standard position like a forward deployed engineer, the more context they had about how the person would work with clients day to day, the better the candidates matched. What problems is Perpetum solving and how is that benefiting you?

We're a small, senior team at AI at Business, and hiring our first Forward Deployed Engineer was a hard brief to fill. The role is unusual: about 85% client-facing delivery, embedded with commercial, logistics and finance teams, and 10–15% platform engineering. We needed someone genuinely full stack in TypeScript and Python, comfortable with messy ERP and legacy data, able to talk to a warehouse manager or a CFO, and fluent in Bulgarian and English. Generic job boards gave us volume but not fit. Perpetum helped us reach and filter for exactly this profile, which saved our engineers a lot of screening time and got us to a strong hire for a role that sets the pattern for how we'll grow the team.
