"Convenient, Secure Tap-to-Pay Payments Right from Your Phone"

5/5

What do you like best about PayPal Tap to Pay?

What I like most about PayPal Tap to Pay is how convenient it is to accept contactless payments directly on my phone without needing any extra card-reader hardware. It makes it much easier for small businesses, freelancers, and mobile sellers to take payments wherever they are.

I also appreciate that it supports multiple payment methods, including contactless cards and digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay, while keeping transactions encrypted and secure. The setup is straightforward, and having quick access to funds helps make payments faster and more flexible for both businesses and customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PayPal Tap to Pay?

What I dislike about PayPal Tap to Pay is that payment processing and verification can feel inconsistent at times. Transactions may occasionally be delayed when PayPal requests additional account verification or runs extra security checks, which is frustrating for businesses that need quick access to their funds.

I’ve also seen reports from other users about setup difficulties or reliability issues with the tap-to-pay feature on certain devices, particularly when using mobile wallets or NFC payments.

Another drawback is that fees and currency conversion information isn’t always clearly presented, which can lead to confusion—especially for international transactions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PayPal Tap to Pay solving and how is that benefiting you?

PayPal Tap to Pay addresses the challenge of accepting in-person payments without relying on expensive card readers or traditional point-of-sale hardware. It lets businesses accept contactless payments directly on a smartphone, which is particularly helpful for mobile businesses, freelancers, market vendors, and service providers who work on the go.

For me, this makes collecting payments faster, simpler, and more flexible. Customers can pay with contactless cards or digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, which reduces checkout friction and improves overall convenience. It also helps transactions move more quickly, lowers equipment costs, and supports quicker access to funds, while still maintaining encrypted payment security.
