As the system engineer at a UK charity, I needed something that could tie together Fivetran, MotherDuck, MariaDB and our legacy Python jobs without me constantly maintaining and managing an orchestration infrastructure. Orchestra’s native integrations meant connecting Fivetran, DBT and MotherDuck took minutes rather than days, and pipelines are defined in YAML, so they live in Git or via the Orchestra Cloud. I like that I can trigger a Fivetran sync, wait for it to finish, then run downstream transformations, all in one place with clear run history and alerting. Porting existing Python scripts (including ones that tunnel over SSH into a legacy MariaDB) was straightforward, and the native dbt Core task means I don’t have to build my own wrapper for transformations. Pricing is the main sticking point for a small organisation. The free tier is generous and therefore I don't have anything I don't dislike! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
