"Engaging Visual Polls and Smart Branching That Boost Shopper Feedback"

What do you like best about Opinion Stage Quiz, Survey & Poll Maker?

As Online Merchandising Manager at FreshHaven Local Supermarket, our small 11–50 person grocery store team relies heavily on shopper input to tweak our online shelf layout, seasonal promotions and grocery assortments. Before Opinion Stage, I was running quick shopper polls using Google Forms, and we hit a really messy snag back in early spring. We put out a survey asking our regular online customers which fresh produce items they wanted us to feature for a spring promotion. The form link we shared on our store Facebook page had a plain, generic look, and response rates were terrible. Worse, Google Forms didn’t have any built-in logic to tailor follow-up questions. A customer who only ordered pantry staples got the exact same produce-focused follow-ups as someone buying fresh fruits daily. One regular shopper messaged us to say the survey felt irrelevant, and we ended up with lopsided feedback that made us pick a promotion that flopped online. That misstep made me hunt for a tool that felt more engaging for grocery shoppers and worked smoothly alongside KalioCommerce, our main online store platform.

What I like most about Opinion Stage is how easy it is to build visual, interactive polls and short quizzes that grab our grocery customers’ attention, instead of sending them boring block-text forms. Grocery shoppers are usually in a hurry, so long surveys get abandoned fast. Opinion Stage’s clean card-style layout, image support and simple one-tap voting fit perfectly for our use cases. I can drop in photos of fresh bread, seasonal berries or new ready-to-eat meals directly in the poll, so customers are voting on actual products they recognize. Just last month I launched a poll asking online shoppers to pick our next weekly discounted family meal bundle. Adding product photos made a huge difference; we got nearly three times more responses than our old Google Forms surveys.

The conditional branching is another huge win for my workflow. I can route people down different paths based on their answers. If a shopper says they mostly order dairy and breakfast items, the survey skips over questions about meat and seafood. It keeps each interaction short and relevant, which cuts down on drop-offs. I also love that the live results widget lets us show real-time vote totals once someone submits their answer. Our customers enjoy seeing what other local shoppers are picking, and it even creates a little buzz on our store social media.

It also plays nicely with our KalioCommerce workflow. I embed polls right on custom landing pages inside our online grocery store, so shoppers don’t have to jump out to an external site to give feedback. That keeps them on our shop page, and we don’t lose potential orders because they leave the site to fill out a survey. When responses roll in, I export the aggregated preferences and use that data to rearrange our online shelf order or decide which items to feature in our next promotion.

For a small supermarket team without a marketing specialist, this tool hits the sweet spot. It’s not overloaded with complicated features, but it makes collecting customer feedback feel fun instead of a chore. Since switching over, our response rates have jumped consistently, and the shopper input we gather is far more reliable. It helps me stop guessing what our local customers want and make smarter merchandising and promo choices for our online grocery shop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Opinion Stage Quiz, Survey & Poll Maker?

Opinion Stage works well for our quick grocery shopper polls at FreshHaven Local Supermarket, but there are several recurring limitations that add extra work for me as Online MerchandisingManager, and I ran into a pretty stressful issue just a few weeks ago. I built a multi-question survey to gather feedback on our new curbside pickup time slots and planned to embed it directly on our KalioCommerce online store page. Everything looked perfect in preview, with product images and simple branching logic set up. But once I embedded the code onto our grocery site, the poll layout broke on mobile. Half of our customers shop for groceries exclusively from their phones, and many reached out saying image buttons were cut off, or they couldn’t tap their selected answer. I spent over an hour tweaking embed sizes and testing different settings, but I could never fully fix the responsive glitch. We ended up losing dozens of responses that day, and I had to repost the poll as a separate Facebook link as a workaround. That threw off our sample size and delayed my decision on adjusting curbside windows.

Another big frustration is the export limitations for raw response data. I regularly pull results to cross-reference shopper preferences with our online sales reports inside KalioCommerce. When I export the CSV, image-based poll answers don’t come through clearly. Instead of showing the product name like “organic cherry tomatoes” or “ready-made lasagna”, the file only returns messy image URL strings. Last month I ran a poll asking shoppers which seasonal vegetable we should feature on the homepage carousel. After exporting, I had to manually match every URL back to the corresponding product, which took me almost two hours after closing time. For someone who already juggles catalog updates, promo setup and shelf arrangement, that manual mapping is a huge drain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
