The fact that more than one picture could not be used.

Need more training about reconciliation after the event.  The benefits include the ability to instantly realize the profit.

**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

The tech support is far superior to the alleged "support" we received at another mobile bidding service that we used. Their online support documents are quite extensive, although the search feature could be better. And it's nice that your support tickets are all available in one place online (but see below in the dislikes section.)

The interface that the guests use is clear and pretty easy to use. We had no requests for help at our most recent event. The number of reports available is quite extensive.

They seem pretty open to suggestions from their clients, and I have noticed several improvements in the time (less than a year at this point) we have worked with them. 

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

The app that integrates with Salesforce doesn't support either the Nonprofit Success Pack or Auctions for Salesforce, which greatly limits any automation between the two. I do manual imports and exports via CSV files, which isn't all that burdensome except that EVERY single time I import auction items, even if I use the same field names that OneCause does, I have to go through and match each of my data columns with the OneCause fields. That's simply unnecessary, and not something I've found in other platforms.

Another major annoyance (although I readily admit to being easily annoyed) is that every time I submit a support ticket, I get an email asking me to rate their service. But there is nothing in that email that tells me WHICH support ticket I'm being asked about, and as I often have several tickets open in the days leading up to the event, I generally just ignore those emails.

More importantly, at some point in October I noticed that I was only seeing support tickets up through August, even though I was getting responses to new queries.I submitted a support ticket about that and was told that system only shows 25 tickets. The OLDEST 25 tickets. They made some change to my account so that I could see all my tickets, but they were still listed oldest to newest, which made it a pain to check on recent tickets. Also, when I clicked the "View all tickets" link, I was back to seeing only 25 again. 

That being said, I just logged in and it appears that they have fixed this issue, and I can now sort the list of tickets in various ways. As I said above, they are receptive to suggestions for changes.

If you are a nonprofit Salesforce user, determine just how much integration you need.

OneCause is the best of the 3 mobile bidding platforms we have tried using to run our 2 yearly fundraisers.

**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

Gamechanger for us was using One Cause for our event, and using the text to donate for the Fund a Need. It made giving so easy and fun and immediate reward. It also reduced so much headache in administrative follow-up. 96 people participated in the fund-a-need and the morning after, 88 of them had completed their credit card info. I've done previous events with pledge cards where I've had to track down people for months, so the fact that I only had 8 people a day later was crazy. One Cause also streamlined our registration, check-in, and silent auction, and was pretty much a dream. The cost was definitely made up for.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

The user interface was a little challenging at first pass, but the customer service was super helpful in helping me navigate through.

**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

From the first person we spoke to in the company through the last person who helped us after our event, the One Cause team is efficient, organized, helpful, and valuable! We were guided and informed at every step, and the data alone that we received from our event through One Cause was worth every penny we invested!

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

Building our website could've been more user friendly. I would also like a way to send a link to those who had outstanding balances from the event that would take them to a place where they could make a secure payment online.

**Recommendations to others considering Bonterra OneCause:**

If the financial commitment has you on the fence, I recommend that you make the investment. What we received from One Cause, in every area, was worth it! We can't imagine going back to doing the amount of work we were doing before One Cause.

The data of all kinds that we received about our gala is priceless. The ability to provide a smoother, faster checkout process, the auto-generated thank you letters saved so much time. I am sure we have yet to discover all the benefits we have realized.

I like that it is easy to use and it is efficient.

I mentioned this to a customer support staff member when we first started using One Cause.  When you use the program for on-line campaigns....and provide a link for individuals to make a donation on-line, the ONE CAUSE logo comes up.  It would be much more effective if the logo of the organization and/or their campaign logo - when the One Cause logo shows up on your Facebook feed, it makes it confusing for people and I don't think they are motivated to click on the link.

We use it for various campaigns throughout the entire organization....not just our development department.

My favorite thing about One Cause has been able to work with the consultants before and during my events, I think this add so much value to what the software has to offer. We have been using this software for two years now and we cannot describe how much it has allowed our organization to improve revenue streams. I love telling other non-profits how user friendly the website is for your events.

I do think there's an ample amount of improvement One Cause can work on, for example I wish we would be able to add more photos into the bidding software and have the customization of the website creation be more innovative to customers.

One Cause has improved the quality and deliverable of our events, people can finally see that we are becoming an organization that improves the quality of the bidding system and check in process and check out. This has been so simple to use at our events where we may have over 500 attendees and we can easily pull reports or see who has checked in and who hasn't.

OneCause isn’t the cheapest option, but it’s worth it. You may need to be a little more tech-savvy to make your auction website look less basic.

OneCause has a very straight-forward online platform.  It's easy to learn to use, easy to set-up and provides great tools for your event and for reviewing the data after your event.

The only downside is the cost.  It's a little expensive for a non-profit seeking to raise funds, although I do think the online platform helps increase the amount of money we are able to raise at our event.

Great tool for event fundraising.

Online tutorials are helpful.  Online support is quick and helpful.  There is also phone support available as well as email.  In addition, certain packages include personal support.  All the people we have worked with have been wonderful!

**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

OneCause was incredible from start to finish! The staff were super helpful and we had virtual support for setting up our event online, as well as day-of support for check in, auction, live mission call, and check out. The staff were professional and anticipated my needs and issues before I even knew what questions to ask. They went out of their way to handle things for me so that I could focus on the guests, they trained my volunteers and supported them, and they generally made the event go off without a hitch!

There were no downsides! Everything about OneCause was easy and user-friendly.

OneCause helped me manage my first silent auction from start to finish. It was so helpful to have all of my details in one place, have advice on best practices for pricing items and displaying them online, and more. They took away so much stress on the day of the event with their on-site support team, helped make our live mission call portion of the event seamless, and really taught me how to use the software to make the event the best that it could be. They also have a report for everything! It was great to be able to review all of their pre-constructed reports after the event to see where our dollars came from, what auction items did well, and what we might want less of for next year.

The system is extremely user friendly for both setup and front end. Bidders have a great experience while providing a stable easy way for companies to profit.

The customer service is also a key aspect worth the investment. I have regular check-ins with my liaison and have in-depth conversations about how to set up, improve, and customize the system for my event.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

Just like everything - the system has its limitations. OneCause as a whole does a great job in constantly evolving and adapting to the environment and what the users need.

We utilize OneCause events to host our annual Gala. With over 430 people in attendance, the system works impressively. Our guests love having the bidding on the phones.

**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

OneCause is very user friendly and it has all of the essential features to facilitate events. We used to utilize another auction tool: "Gesture". Ultimately, OneCause has more features, and our team seems like like it much better.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

Although there is a Salesforce integration, there doesn't seem to be an automatic sync function. So, If I want all of the contacts or donations for a specific event to sync into Salesforce, I would need to manually select the event, map the fields, etc. The process is essentially the same as having to mass import as opposed to real-time syncing (having the information up-to-date at all-times). 

**What problems is Bonterra OneCause solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a small number of staff in charge of running our auctions (online & in-person). Thus, it would be very challenging to facilitate these auctions without a game-changing tool, such as OneCause. 

Additionally, the training and support calls have been very helpful to get us up-and-running. I've had a few questions (from an admin/operations standpoint) and I've received responses in a short amount of time. I sincerely appreciate the level of support and service that OneCause provides.

**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

Our team likes RESULTS - and we saw them with OneCause. Last year, prior to use - we had lines running out the door, irritated people at the length of time of check-in and lower silent auction returns because of the time required to check in. Also, check-out, though theoretically easy, turned out to be not quite so easy and we spent days trying to fix things and then understand our results - this piece here, that piece there, but what about that exception?

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

It's true that OneCause is not the easiest to learn. However, it's obvious they've put their time in on the things that matter most - interfaces that people checking in and out can understand easily. After initial frustration, we dove in - and that dive made all the difference. I think we're still finding out how we can use the software -- it's wonderfully scalable!

**What problems is Bonterra OneCause solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have seen massively shorter lines at our event; significantly shorter time required to run the event and understand and compile the reporting afterwards. Last year, (before OneCause) I had a panic attack trying to talk about how poorly registration had gone - and I've NEVER had one. This year - cool as a cucumber. THANK  YOU!

**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

One Cause makes our fundraising events so much easier and keep the experience in the modern age. Everyone is always on their phone and OneCause helps utilize that by making their webpages mobile friendly and easy for donors to use for purchasing tickets or bidding on the auction. The easier it is for donors and guests, the less barriers there are to getting money. The back end is also customizable and set up with easy rules and many help pages, as well as amazing reports that can be generated so easily!!

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

The backend of setting up event pages feels a little clunky and took me a little longer to learn it than I expected, but my consultant was very helpful in making sure I didn't miss anything. Once I understood what the different pages were for, I was able to find my way through easily. There were also help links on every page with great articles and videos to help.

**What problems is Bonterra OneCause solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it mostly for auctions and donations at events. It has helped us keep auctions simple and mobile and encourages ease of donation.

The reporting feature is awesome. Having the ability to extract information is excellent. The information and ease of reporting is a plus. Registration was a breeze. Having the ability to change table assignments in real-time is awesome. Event reconciliation is a breeze, even months after the event.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

For my event, I may need a bit more customization. This could have been an issue before setup, but the ability to make changes on the fly is great. I will try this on my current event. There is not much that I did not like about the system.

Try it, you will like it!

It has streamlined the event process. Data retention, the ease with contacting patrons after the event, follow-up, and tax receipt information is awesome. I love the outstanding debt feature as well.

Would be great if some items in the auction could be listed in multiple categories. I don't like the "Fixed-price" title as it's not intuitive for bidders - would be nice to be able to rename/customize this category. The reporting tools are extensive, but some limitations on custom reporting where I'd like to see more data in one report rather than merging data sets. Would also be great to have more "drag and drop" functionality for table/seating assignments. Would be nice to have sort functionality for auction items too - sort low-high, alphabetical, etc.

The customer support system is my favorite!  If I am struggling to make something work or figure out why I can't get something to work, their representatives are on hand to help!!

We have raised more money using the mobile bidding platform than we did using paper bidding.  Our guests are able to receive notices and bid from their seats, rather than having to constantly go monitor bidding sheets.

My only complaint would be in the "cloning" of an event.  I would like more of the event's information to transfer.

OneCause customer support is second to none. The product in itself is user-friendly, but the support team goes above and beyond to ensure that every step of the way we're on top of our checklist, and taking the most critical actions to make sure our event is a success. The onsite event support has been a game-changer. Online mobile bidding is an incredible feature that has absolutely transformed our silent auction. We've been thrilled with this product and have seen our profits soar!

There are a few features that are a little confusing, but likely due to the fact that we're only really interacting with the tool for one major event per year. BUT - that's why the support is so helpful! The only other downside is that the landing page design seems limiting and pretty basic. The program was not cumbersome to work with and navigating thru the site was very workable even for those who are not computer savvy.

Managing of the set priced items was too difficult. Need to develop an easier way to capture the sales and charge the purchase without having to go thru multiple screens. Should be a simple one click process. 
Also, don't like the fact that the new swipers only work with ipads. My organization does not have enough in house and will have to borrow for next years event.

Managing our biggest fundraising event was a much smoother process with this program. We were able to keep up to date with pre-event sales very easily. I handle many different tasks with my position and do not have the time to spend days recapping an event and this program allowed me to report and analyze the event so quickly allowing me to get back to my other priorities.

We transitioned to using BidPal and OneCause three years ago. Our gala draws over 850 people and our silent auction is between 60 to 100 items every year. The system is easy and intuitive for both back-end administrators and guests. It also makes processing donations during our "Bid for a Cause" live donation segment of the event very simple for all guests, and makes follow-up after the event very easy.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

The check-in process can sometimes get long because of the amount of info we collect from guests at the door, but we've been able to stay on top of it by bringing in more check-in staff and terminals.

**Recommendations to others considering Bonterra OneCause:**

Try to gather as much information as possible on event attendees before the day of the event. Having guests' phone numbers and email addresses in the system already makes check-in much speedier than if the check-in team has to gather them as guests arrive. We've used this system each year since 2015 and this year we finally were able to make our check-in process quick and streamlined by gathering guests' email addresses and phone numbers prior to the event day. Also, be sure to make use of the text message feature both during the event for reminders, and after the event for follow-up.

We've eliminated much of the busy work with processing auction check-out and winners, and the process of assigning tables and seating is very easy.
