iPIM is the single source of truth for our product data. We run nine shops in eight European countries and seven languages, and all articles are created first in iPIM, our ERP (Business Central) and the shop pull the data from there. This works very reliably. The data model is really flexible: we sell forestry, hunting, garden and safety equipment, so we have very different attributes per category (EN norms for PPE, legal information for hunting products, technical data for chainsaws). With the classification and attribute inheritance we can map all of this cleanly without workarounds. The connection to novomind iSHOP is of course perfect, because both come from the same vendor, and this was also one reason we chose iSHOP later. Translation handling for the different country shops is well structured, and the API gives us good access for our own tools, e.g. feed generation for Google Shopping and our own AI agents for product texts, which read and write directly to iPIM. The user interface is functional but feels a bit old-fashioned, and for bulk changes over many articles you need quite a lot of clicks. New colleagues need some time until they find their way through the views and workflows, so onboarding takes longer than with more modern tools. Also some additional modules are quite complex to set up. We licensed iPIM Supply for supplier onboarding, but the configuration was so much effort that we never brought it live and now build our own supplier portal instead. Built-in AI features for texts or data quality are still limited, we solved this with our own agents via the API. Pricing is on enterprise level, for smaller companies this is surely a topic.
