## About Absolute Secure Access
Absolute Secure Access (formerly NetMotion by Absolute) is one of the company’s core product lines, which was added through the acquisition of NetMotion in July 2021. The product portfolio provides resilient network connectivity for users to securely access critical resources in the public cloud, private data centers, and on-premises. These products allow users to transition from traditional VPN to a resilient Zero Trust approach, without impairing productivity or admin controls. Absolute Secure Access encompasses three products: • Absolute VPN provides security and confidentiality for data in motion by means of encryption and access controls. It also offers benefits to the end user, such as making tunnel and network sessions resilient and optimizing streaming video and audio. • Absolute ZTNA provides a software-defined perimeter via Zero Trust Network Access, creating a context-based, logical access boundary around an application or set of applications – wherever they're hosted. It shields applications from the Internet, making them invisible to unauthorized users. Access policies are enforced at the endpoint, avoiding latency and any data transgression. • Absolute Insights™ for Network offers diagnostic and experience monitoring capabilities across endpoints and network, allowing organizations to proactively monitor, investigate, and remediate end user performance issues quickly and at scale, even on networks that are not company-owned or managed

## Absolute Secure Access Reviews
 ### 1. Effortless, Secure Remote Access with Minimal Interaction

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg S. | IT Special Projects, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Absolute Secure Access?**

I like how Absolute Secure Access allows all of our technicians to access our ERP from the field. Secure access is really easy, and I appreciate that I can fire up the computer, the client starts, and it connects immediately to the network. This minimal interaction required by the user is the reason we bought it. The client side has always been extremely easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?**

I don't really have any complaints, the ease of use is the primary selling point for us.

**What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Absolute Secure Access to seamlessly access our internal network remotely, allowing our technicians to efficiently access the ERP from the field. Secure access is really easy with minimal user interaction required.

 ### 2. Absolute Secure Access - Was better than the competitors

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Absolute Secure Access?**

In my first review of Absolute Secure Access everything that I said is still true. Their always-on, suspended-state VPN client is still awesome for what we do and how we use it, especially for devices that use applications remotely that connect to a database. Anyone who uses SQL knows that even the slightest blip can cause issues using any software that bounces off a database which is very annoying for both the users and those of us who have to administer it.

Absolute's improved functionality thru the easy-to-use web console has given us more flexibility to be able to put our VPN client in a bypass state while working inside the 4 walls of the office which reduces network usage. Another plus in the Absolute side of things. It has allowed us to more easily communicate with devices remotely rather than playing the game of deciding which network adapter is registered in DNS today.

**What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?**

This is the part of the survey that will explain why not only have I reduced my overall score of Absolute but why we are actually moving away from Absolute entirely at the end of this year when our licensing agreement is up.

When dealing with a company, especially one that we give a lot of money to year-after-year for their services, how they treat me in response to that does rate very highly for me. Customer service with Absolute has gotten a little complicated over the last year or two. If you ask a support question more often than not you're hit with a response that links to a doc that may or may not answer your question as opposed to having a conversation with someone. Also, as with any tech company getting bigger these days, you may be met with someone who is a paid Helpdesk support person who spends days-into-weeks collecting information and leaving the problem unsolved.

Because of degradation in service we will be moving away from Absolute, as previously stated, and moving forward with our firewall vendor's always-on VPN client, FortiClient. We have a personal, open communication with the engineers who will be working with us and are available at the ready. We would rather pay them than Absolute.

**What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are providing us with a client that is secure and easily manageable while also keeping our users from having annoying downtown or disconnect issues. A big motivating factor that Absolute offered, as stated in my review of what's good about this client, is the suspended state that Absolute can stay in versus the competitor. This seems like a small thing but in practice it's huge. Our prevous clients, when something went wrong such as disconnecting, power or network outage, or any other temporary blip in connectivity, our users would have to essentially restart their days at times by closing down all open programs that require a consistent connection to our firm's servers to operate. Our DMS would have to re-establish a connection from scratch, our programs such as the Office suite that use that DMS connection would also have to be closed down and reopened as a simple refresh option isn't available, and our time management programs that require a consistent connection to the database would have to be restored. This was a pain if it happened during the day. Absolute's ability to suspend its connective state stopped all of that from happening. That alone is worth the change of program.

 ### 3. Absolute Secure - NetMotion VPN

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mo V. | Head of IT, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Absolute Secure Access?**

The new client is more stable and keeps the connection even when moving between different networks whereas the old client would sit in a disconnected state if you changed networks.

**What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?**

Still requires a fair bit of infrastructure particularly if you want to run it in 2 different locations for resiliency, the annual costs are also not cheap.

**What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides secure access to network resources for our users working remotely.

 ### 4. NetMotion

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Absolute Secure Access?**

We like how resilient it is and resistant to disruption of connectivity.

**What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?**

Configuration challenge previously having two separate accounts to support two different departments. Account consolidation but keeping the servers/networks separate was not an option.

**Recommendations to others considering Absolute Secure Access:**

Test over different internet providers... Verizon, T-Mobile, WiFi, etc.

**What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have recently added MFA to netmotion remote access.

 ### 5. Reliable, Secure, and Exceptionally Smooth Connection

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George D. | Network Administrator., Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Absolute Secure Access?**

The most valuable feature is the reliability and smoothness of its connection. When it comes to security, I am impressed by how ASA evaluates the device's status; if a threat is detected, it instantly blocks access.

**What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?**

The primary drawback is that in order to take full advantage of its advanced features, you need to be completely integrated into the absolute ecosystem.

**What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Choosing to adopt this solution has turned out to be an excellent decision. We have overcome the security challenges and performance issues that are often associated with traditional VPNs. This modern security solution operates effectively and ensures seamless access for users.

 ### 6. Seamless, Reliable VPN Connectivity Perfect for On-the-Go Users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Absolute Secure Access?**

One of the standout features is its persistent, intelligent VPN connectivity. The service offers a session-persistent VPN, allowing users to switch seamlessly between Wi-Fi, cellular, or wired networks without losing their connection. If the network briefly disconnects, the VPN automatically reconnects without requiring any action from the user. This reliability makes it especially suitable for field workers, remote employees, or anyone who frequently uses laptops or tablets while on the move.

**What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?**

1. The initial setup and policy configuration can be quite complex. While the platform provides extensive control, this also results in a setup process that can take considerable time. Many administrators note the steep learning curve involved in creating and adjusting access policies, routing rules, and optimization settings. For smaller IT teams, the onboarding experience may feel more demanding compared to simpler VPN solutions.

🖥️ 2. The user interface of the management console can feel outdated or inconsistent.

**What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mobile and remote workers often experience unstable or dropped connections. Traditional VPNs tend to disconnect when users switch between networks or lose their signal, forcing field workers, technicians, and remote staff to repeatedly log back in or restart their applications.

There is also a lack of visibility once devices leave the corporate network. IT teams struggle to monitor remote endpoints outside the office, making it challenging to troubleshoot slow or failed connections.

Security risks increase when employees connect from hotels, coffee shops, or mobile hotspots. Without robust, policy-based controls, these connections can expose organizations to threats.

Standard VPNs also rely on complex, static policies that apply the same rules to everyone. However, organizations require adaptive access that adjusts based on network type, device health, or user role.

Finally, performance can be limited for cloud and SaaS applications. Encrypted VPN tunnels may slow down business apps, and workers need optimized traffic and fast access, even when using weak cellular connections.

 ### 7. great Tool with low cost

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rewanth B. | Sr. Systems Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

Ease of use, self healing client , outstanding support

**What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?**

Connection interruptions , complex implementation.

**What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote users can perform tasks with out interuption

 ### 8. Absolute is a very reliable and capable VPN security solution! Recommended.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Randy B. | Cyber and Systems Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Absolute Secure Access?**

Absolute has a comprehensive Insight tool that allows you to understand Client workflow even in a split tunnel configuration. This has been great for troubleshooting network and environment access issues, and finding new policy opportunities. Single sign-on works well and connections are very stable!

**What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?**

A negative aspect would be lack of management on the server side as this is a cloud-based solution that lives in Absolute's environment. Support is fairly responsive though when changes are required, especially during the on-boarding phase. Many policies may have to be built out depending on your org's needs. But once they are completed, they behave as expected.

**What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Absolute allows us to have a secure and stable connection into our org's infrastructure. It also allows comprehensive insight into network usage and performance.

 ### 9. Absolute praise

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg M. | PC Network Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Absolute Secure Access?**

New version seems to work well. We have a new version of Insights as well that provides more granular reporting.

**What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?**

Still have some firewall settings to change and rules are confusing. Other than that all is good.

**What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connections from mobile vehicles

 ### 10. Zanonet Review of Netmotion

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph Z. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Absolute Secure Access?**

Really great and reliable VPN. Easy to manage and upgrade. Company is easy to work with when you have trouble calls or questions. Have not had many in a while.

**What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?**

Nothing much, its really stable. Good quality product. Maybe if it was a little cheaper in cost.

**Recommendations to others considering Absolute Secure Access:**

If your network requires a secure remote solution needing a resilient connection option that works nicely while roaming (IE a vehicle) I would highly reccomend using Netmotion. We used to use a traditional VPN client and it would drop often when there was a gap or little connectivity.

**What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Police car connectivity
