What do you like best about Netgear Nighthawk M1 Mobile Router?

The Nighthawk router literally saved me and my fiancé when he was deployed (Military) to California. He had to camp in the desert without any surrounding cell towers or internet service for 3 months and for the first 4-5 days we barely spoke because of the lack of wireless service. He found that his buddy had a Nighthawk Mobile Router and his friend allowed him to use the mobile router/hotspot connection to talk to me, and send pictures! It was so awesome, we bought one as soon as he got home. We live in a tiny town that had zero options for WiFi service at the town. We didn't even have an option for a wired connection through ATT. Our only options were Hughesnet, viastat, or a mobile hotspot. We tried every single one of those and nothing worked out here, we couldn't do anything more than search the web and scroll social media. Finally, we got the Nighthawk paired with FirstNet service and it was a game changer. We were able to watch movies, work from our laptops from home, almost anything. We used it until we were finally offered Fiber service in our area, and naturally we swapped to that for home use, but we kept our FirstNet plan with Nighthawk box in service and now we use on the go, virtually anywhere. Our kids connect while traveling to watch movies or videos from their tablets and I sometimes work from my vehicle in a pinch without issues. It's compact and holds a charge for a long time, so it's super convenient and a no brainer to keep us connected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Netgear Nighthawk M1 Mobile Router?

I don't have any major complaints about the router, it's pretty awesome all the way around. If I had to choose something I would change, it would be its signal strength at a further distance. Like any hotspot or router, the further you get from the device, the internet speed slows down. The nighthawk has great range but it does slow down a lot if you lose a "bar" of signal. It also slows down if multiple devices are connected, which is also expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Netgear Nighthawk M1 Mobile Router solving and how is that benefiting you?

I'm able to work from almost anywhere at anytime with ease. I can pull into a parking garage, or into my kids soccer game and still be connected to the device/service. As a nurse, I often have patients that call the after hours call line, and I need to search their medical record to find answers, and sometimes this means that I am in a remote location without access to internet. My iPhone hotspot will barely allow me to log into our EHR, but the hotspot works flawlessly to get me connected quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
