Founded in 2009 to support journalists and strengthen the media ecosystem, Muck Rack has grown into a single system of record used by thousands of organizations to make sense of the media conversation around them. Today, teams rely on Muck Rack to understand how their brand shows up across news, social channels, and AI-generated answers, and to act with confidence in a rapidly changing communications landscape. Purpose-built for communications and public relations professionals, Muck Rack brings together global media monitoring, trusted media data, AI automation, and analyst-led Media Intelligence into a single PR software platform. Teams can find and engage the right journalists, monitor coverage and conversations in real time, assess brand perception and narrative risk, and prove the impact of their work through unified reporting. All capabilities are powered by the same intelligent data layer, eliminating silos and enabling faster, more confident decision-making across the organization. At the foundation of the platform is visibility and intelligence across the full narrative. Muck Rack monitors news, social media, podcasts, newsletters, and global outlets, using advanced tagging, entity recognition, and entity-level sentiment to surface the coverage and conversations that matter most. Powered by Muck Rack’s Curation Engine, this monitoring is organized around meaning, not keywords—using AI trained and refined by Media Intelligence experts to verify relevance, categorize coverage, and deliver clean, structured reports ready for analysis and action. This intelligence is paired with the industry’s most trusted Media Database, built through a combination of advanced technology and an in-house editorial team that manually verifies journalists and outlets, ensuring accurate, up-to-date data that strengthens outreach, monitoring, and reporting. Muck Rack’s AI is embedded with intention and designed to empower communicators. AI automates time-consuming tasks such as research, filtering, summarization, targeting, and reporting, while human editorial and analyst expertise ensures nuance, credibility, and context. Embedded AI agents support every stage of the workflow, from building media lists and optimizing pitch recipients to summarizing coverage and connecting outreach activity to results. These capabilities extend into Generative Pulse, Muck Rack’s solution for Generative Engine Optimization and Answer Engine Optimization. As audiences increasingly rely on AI-generated answers, Generative Pulse shows how brands appear in those responses, which journalists and sources influence them, and how visibility and sentiment change over time across major large language models. With this insight, teams can understand and influence how earned media shapes AI answers and track progress alongside traditional PR metrics. Muck Rack also turns measurement into proof of impact. Dashboards, competitive benchmarking, pitch-to-coverage attribution, and executive-ready reports connect PR activity to outcomes such as share of voice, sentiment, narrative movement, and AI visibility. Media Intelligence adds a human-led advisory layer through Insight Reports, Curated Digests, and executive briefs that cut through noise and provide clear recommendations. Together, Muck Rack transforms PR from reactive reporting into a proactive, strategic driver of brand reputation management, crisis monitoring, trust, and influence.

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I use Muck Rack to track mentions from different campaigns on media, and it helps me understand if any creative work was picked up by media outlets and how much buzz it got. I like that it's very clear with the information it provides, which helps me estimate how much investment would have been needed to achieve that media attention. It's valuable for informing campaign performance across media sites.

  ### 2. Seamless Media Monitoring and Journalist Discovery

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Breanna C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I use Muck Rack daily for finding journalists and articles for client coverage, and it really helps me monitor when the coverage goes live. I really enjoy the broadcast clipping feature the most. It's really easy to clip the portion of the video I need by using the transcription, and it's very easy to add everything into a coverage report for monitoring and tracking. I also appreciate that I can find reporters by specific beats, titles, or locations, which just makes the process of creating a media list so much easier. Compared to Cision, Muck Rack feels a lot more seamless and helpful, and also easier to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I think sometimes the profiles can be out of date for some reporters, so more frequent updates to profiles would be helpful.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like how organized everything is with Muck Rack. It's very fast and easy to navigate, which is crucial for my work in PR where attention to detail is key. They've always been able to help me with any issues, especially with coverage reports. The fast, reliable support helps me stay on track and keep everything aligned.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I think sometimes the coverage reports can be tricky to make. They take some time to develop. I think the broadcast search could be refined. It's a little difficult sometimes to find broadcast placements. And sometimes some journalist information is not as updated as fast as I would like it to be.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 4. Best-in-Class Media Database and Valuable Generative Pulse Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** annika c. | PR Account Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I think Muck Rack's media database is one of the best! I also think their Generative Pulse reporting has been beneficial to my team and clients. They provide more information than what is available on other tools. I feel like Muck Rack is one, if not the leading, PR tool. Every feature it has has been beneficial on a PR standpoint.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

Coming from an SEO/Digital Agency, it's harder to track reporting than I'd like. BUT the generative pulse reporting has been helpful on the AI side. I wish their media reporting in general were easier for my clients.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The AI-generated results for visibility information have been very beneficial to my team and clients. It provides an understanding of where we sit amongst our competitors and who we should be reaching out to for our media outreach pitches. Muck Rack has been the only tool I've seen that has been ahead of the rest on these tools for PR pros.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi Annika, thanks for the thoughtful review! It means a lot to hear this perspective from an SEO and digital agency. We’re glad the media database and Generative Pulse are helping your team understand visibility across competitors and identify the right outlets to prioritize. Being ahead on AI-driven PR insights is something we’re proud of.

We appreciate your feedback on reporting usability and we’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. Making media reporting clearer and more client-friendly, especially for digitally focused teams, is an area of focus for us this year. Thanks again for sharing your experience and for recognizing the impact of our AI capabilities.

  ### 5. Precision in Media Tracking and Coverage Analysis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I like how I can pretty easily capture very specific coverage and that it lets me use very specific terms. I like being able to track broadcast coverage, which would be hard to do oftentimes, without the Muck Rack service and that I can search far back for very specific mentions across a variety of broadcast channels and stations and networks, both TV and broadcast. I like that it's easy to search for journalists and then search for people who have covered a specific topic or write for specific outlets, and being able to continually keep our media list up to date. The interface seems fairly intuitive and it seems reasonably easy to do searches.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

Not sure, perhaps that some of the features that could make it even more valuable to myself and colleagues are harder to find, maybe feel like a learning curve?

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Muck Rack to precisely track media coverage for clients, using specific search terms and alerts. It helps isolate relevant mentions, avoid media monitoring headaches, and build accurate media lists by providing journalists' contact details.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the detailed review! We’re so glad Muck Rack is helping you capture coverage and search across outlets. It’s great to hear journalist discovery and list management are supporting your client work.

We appreciate your feedback on feature discoverability and we’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. If certain tools feel harder to find, your CSM can walk you through advanced features and shortcuts to make sure you’re getting the most value from the platform. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

  ### 6. Easy-to-Use Contact Management and Pitching with Reliable Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

Muck Rack is great for keeping all my contacts organized by category. It’s also really helpful for finding new contacts, tracking down contact information, and staying on top of job updates for people I work with regularly. The platform is easy to use and they have quick and reliable customer service.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

Honestly, there isn’t anything that really stands out to me as something I dislike.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack has been great for helping me manage my time. The time I used to spend manually searching for contacts and their email addresses for outreach has been cut significantly thanks to what they offer. They also have a strong pitching system that helps me track the emails I’ve sent, along with who has opened or clicked them.

**Official Response from Eliza Castillo:**

> Thanks for the great review. We’re glad Muck Rack is helping you stay organized, find the right contacts and save time on outreach. It’s great to hear the pitching tools and tracking features are supporting your workflow.

We also appreciate the kind words about our support team. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

  ### 7. Muck Rack Makes PR Easy: Media Lists, Contacts, and Coverage Stats in One Place

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I find Muck Rack very easy to use and really helpful for PR. It makes it simple to build media lists, find contacts, and connect with reporters. I also like being able to pull stats on articles for my clients, which helps me track coverage and share results.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I’ve found that some of the newer features can be a bit confusing to learn at first. I also notice occasional lag, although that may be on my end since I tend to forget to clear my cookies.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack helps me efficiently find the right contacts in niche fields for my clients, which makes my outreach and research much smoother.

**Official Response from Eliza Castillo:**

> Thanks for the review. We’re glad Muck Rack is helping you build media lists, connect with the right reporters and track coverage results for clients. Making PR workflows simpler and reporting more accessible is exactly what we strive for.

We appreciate your feedback on feature discoverability and occasional lag and we’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. Performance improvements are actively rolling out this month, and we’re always looking for ways to make new features easier to adopt. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

  ### 8. Streamlines Media Outreach with Smart Journalist Search and Helpful Alerts

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

Muck Rack makes it really easy to find journalists who are actually covering the topics you want to pitch. I work across a few B2B industries (manufacturing, plumbing/HVAC, construction, etc.) and the ability to see what reporters have recently written about is super helpful before reaching out. It saves a ton of time vs. manually searching Google or publications.

I also like the monitoring and alerts; it’s nice having coverage show up in one place instead of trying to track it across different outlets. The media list function is pretty straightforward too and makes it easier to keep track of contacts for different industries or campaigns.

Overall it’s been a really solid tool for day-to-day media relations.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

Sometimes the search results pull in journalists who are kind of related to the topic but not always the best fit, so you still have to do a little manual vetting before building a list. Not a huge deal, but it can slow things down a bit.

Also the list management could be a little more flexible. When you’re managing lists across a bunch of industries or campaigns it can get a little messy. And like most PR tools, the pricing can be tough for smaller teams.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Muck Rack we were pulling media lists together in a bunch of different ways — Google searches, old spreadsheets, Twitter, etc. It took way longer and it was harder to keep everything organized.

Now we can find journalists covering specific industry topics (like mechanical contractors, construction trends, or building products) pretty quickly and build lists in one place. The coverage tracking also makes it easier to report on earned media and see where stories are landing.

Overall it just streamlines the media relations side of things quite a bit.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Thanks for the detailed review! We’re glad Muck Rack helps you quickly find the right journalists and simplify your day-to-day media relations work. It’s great to hear the platform is making outreach and reporting more efficient.

We appreciate your feedback on search precision and list management. We’ll pass this along to our product team as we continue improving relevance and usability. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

  ### 9. Generative Pulse Report: Experimenting with Muck Rack on the Agency Side

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

Right now, I am using the Generative Pulse Report in Muck Rack as my only tool. My agency uses Muck Rack for PR, but as of now I'm only using the GPR.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

The Generative Pulse report is somewhat limited. I used the export tool within the GPR to export all the visualizations, but we had to make our own deck to actually present the report. The insights were also limited, and we had to rely on using Claude to analyze the exported data set to gather insights.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need a tool to measure AI visibility across multiple agency clients. We are evaluating several options, including SEMrush and OTTO SEO. However, the agency already has a Muck Rack subscription, so we thought we would start there.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi there, thanks for sharing your experience. We’re glad you’re exploring Generative Pulse as a way to measure AI visibility across clients. Helping teams understand how they show up in LLMs is a key part of where PR is headed.

We appreciate your feedback on reporting and depth of insights and we’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. Generative Pulse is a major focus area for us right now, with improvements underway to make insights more actionable and easier to present without extra lift.

If you’re open to it, we’d really value more detail on what would make this more useful for your workflow. Feel free to email me at jessica.andrews@muckrack.com.

  ### 10. Streamlined Media Outreach with Intuitive UI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I use Muck Rack for Public Relations, and I really like its user interface -- which I use daily. It's really easy to use once you get past the initial learning curve. I find it especially good at helping me build media lists quickly and send media pitches efficiently. Muck Rack also helps me monitor brand mentions and competitor mentions, track backlinks to our site content that we've pitched, and see which pitches resulted in citations from authoritative sources.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

Visibility into whether or not a contact has an email address is crucial. It could save lots of time from clicking on someone with no contact details. Also, inactive accounts should be flagged as such (having a low open rate) or so. Which would help us keep the most active folks in our media lists, and encourage us to find better fits for our media lists at the same outlet, if we are sending pitches to the wrong person who doesn't want/need them.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack helps me monitor brand mentions, competitor brand mentions, track backlinks, and evaluate the authority of sources citing us. It facilitates quick media list building and pitch sending.

  ### 11. All-In-One Media Tracking with Exceptional Ease

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I really like that Muck Rack is an all-encompassing tool. I specifically like the new tracker function, which aligns all of my search terms to stay consistent across the entire platform, including media monitoring and creating competitor dashboards for topic research and coverage reporting. It helps me find media contacts across various industries, receive alerts on specific client keywords and phrases, and prepares reporting on media coverage that I can share with clients. The platform transition was super easy, allowing me to import multiple media lists seamlessly.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I think the outputs are only as good as your inputs, so when searching for alerts/coverage for specific clients, the boolean search terms are really tricky to prepare which can create noise. I typically have to go into an AI platform like ChatGPT to ask it to clean up the boolean search phrase. If there was a way to do that within the platform that would help tremendously.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack helps me find media contacts, receive alerts on client keywords, and prepare media coverage reports. I love the tracker function that keeps search terms consistent across media monitoring, database searches, and report creation.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Thanks so much for updating your review. We’re thrilled to see Muck Rack continues to deliver for you.

We also appreciate your thoughtful feedback on boolean complexity. You’re right that crafting precise boolean can be time consuming. To help with this, we’re releasing an AI-powered search assistant this month that will help generate and refine boolean strings directly within the platform, eliminating the need to rely on ChatGPT.

At the same time, we’re continuing to evolve our monitoring capabilities with a smarter curation layer designed to improve relevance, reduce junk results and make alerts more accurate overall. Stay tuned!

Thanks again for sharing your updated experience and for continuing to grow with Muck Rack.

Update: 05/01/2026

Exciting update: We recently launched Curation Engine for our Brand Premier customers. It uses AI to filter irrelevant coverage, apply tags across competitors and themes, and analyze sentiment more accurately so reports are clean and ready to use. We’re excited about the impact this will have on reducing noise and improving coverage quality.

  ### 12. Great for Targeted Pitching and Personalization

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hailey A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I really appreciate how quickly support replies. The pitching personalization feature is incredibly helpful, allowing me to send very targeted emails to people who care about the content I'm pitching. I also really like the journalist search feature because it helps me find the perfect targets I'm looking for. It's a great tool for making outreach highly personalized.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

The coverage sentiment gauge is pretty rarely correct. It'll often say things are negative when they aren't, like marking an article as negative sentiment just because it includes a word that sounds negative. I also feel like Muck Rack could definitely use more podcast research. It has some data, but it's not very specific and often broad, making it hard to filter out the relevance. I would also love to see more verified outlets and less promotion of aggregate content.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack makes it easy to quickly find and personalize pitch targets, track emails for better follow-ups, and compile coverage reports for clients to showcase media hits.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi Hailey, thanks for the thoughtful and detailed review. We’re glad to hear our support team has been responsive and that we're helping you run more targeted, effective outreach. Making it easy to find the right reporters and tailor your messaging is core to what we aim to deliver.

We appreciate your candid feedback on sentiment and podcast data. Sentiment detection using NLP methods can be challenging, but we're actively working on a more advanced approach to sentiment analysis as part of a broader evolution in how coverage is curated and evaluated. We’re excited about the improvements coming soon, so stay tuned.

On podcast research and outlet verification, if there are specific shows, regions or criteria you’re looking for, our Editorial Team would love to hear from you so we can better focus our sourcing and enrichment efforts. Insights like this help us continue strengthening the quality and relevance of the database.

Thanks again for sharing your experience and for using Muck Rack!

Update: 05/01/2026

Exciting update: We recently launched Curation Engine for our Brand Premier customers. It uses AI to analyze sentiment on the entity-level, rather than NLP. We’re excited about the impact this will have on reducing noise and improving coverage quality.

  ### 13. Robust Media Tracking with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Morgan D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I really appreciate the reporting features and dashboards of Muck Rack. They help me understand when and where media placements are generating views and engagement. I also find the reporting valuable because it can emphasize and communicate the value of PR and earned media to our leadership team and board. The initial setup was fairly easy, and the customer service was good.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I really like the map feature in the dashboards, but it only gives a United States map so that you can track placements by state. I would really love more localized maps. So we place a lot of our media just in the Oregon media market, and to be able to track where placements are coming from statewide through county or city-specific data would be nice. I also think that sometimes there are articles that fall through the alerts and aren't allowed to add to dashboards or reports because they don't fall within Muck Rack's identification of earned media. So, like, other web pages or academic articles, I would really appreciate if those were both captured in alerts and we have the ability to add them to our reports.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack solves the issue of tracking media quantitatively and saves time by providing an accessible database of reporters, enabling us to track relationships and pitches efficiently. The reporting features help communicate the value of PR and earned media to our leadership.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi Morgan,

Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad our report s and dashboards are helping you demonstrate the value of PR to your leadership team. It’s great to hear the platform makes quantitative tracking easier.

We appreciate your feedback on localized map views and we’ll pass this feedback along to our product team.

Regarding articles that may not be appearing in alerts or eligible for dashboards, we do monitor academic content in many cases, though some pieces may not surface due to paywalls or source coverage limitations. In general, most digital links can be manually added to coverage reports. If you’re seeing specific web pages or article types that aren’t being captured automatically, we’d encourage you to flag them via our in-app so our team can review and better understand what you’d like included in monitoring moving forward.

Thanks again for sharing your experience.

  ### 14. Accessible Platform, But High Pricing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick W. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I like that Muck Rack is available on the first landing page on Google. It's always one of the first responses, which makes it easy for me when searching for journalists and publications. Whether I'm searching within the platform or using Google search operators to browse publication sites by keywords, Muck Rack is always right there. I'm always signed in, which makes it very easy. I appreciate the speed and accessibility it offers because instead of going from Google to find an article or journalist and then checking them on Muck Rack, it's already right there, which is more convenient. The initial setup was pretty easy. The Muck Rack team helped convert our existing media list into Muck Rack, and their customer support rep was really helpful in walking me through it, answering questions, and setting up search queries. The chat feature in the platform is also helpful for asking questions.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I think it's a little pricey. Some of the features being blocked only for the more expensive subscription tiers is a little annoying. I wish everything was just available for what's their more standard price, such as broadcast clips and some of the AI tools. It has a very good database for United States publications and other key markets, but some other countries like some Latin American and Middle Eastern countries, where I need publications, have less journalists available. Sometimes it's very few or none, especially for non-English publications.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Muck Rack to find journalists' contact information, search for publications by keywords, and monitor industry coverage. It's fast and accessible, especially appearing on the first page of Google search, which makes my work more convenient.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi Nick, thanks for the detailed review. We’re glad Muck Rack is making it easy to move from search to journalist research without extra steps. It’s great to hear the setup process and media list migration went smoothly and that our team and in-platform chat have been helpful along the way.

We appreciate your feedback on pricing, feature access and international coverage depth and we’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. Expanding global journalist coverage, especially across non-English and emerging markets, is an ongoing focus area for us.

Thanks again for sharing your experience and for using Muck Rack to power your journalist research and media monitoring.

  ### 15. Effortless Media Tracking, Quick Setup

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katie C. | Communications Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I really like the simplicity of Muck Rack; it's very easy to use and track what we need. The platform helps us keep track of media mentions that we haven't secured directly and track metrics we can't pull manually. I also appreciate the creation of reports that help us keep track of specific needs. The initial setup was very easy, and our account rep was a huge help in walking us through everything.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I think the biggest issue we run into is when websites have a paywall. The platform doesn't always necessarily pull that content and that makes it difficult for us to know if something has run/mentions the company. Also, if Muck Rack was better about pulling international content as we find that can sometimes be missing.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack helps us track media mentions we haven't secured directly and track metrics we can't manually pull. It's simple to use, and the report creation keeps track of specific needs.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi Katie, thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad Muck Rack’s reporting tools are helping you stay organized around your team’s goals. It’s also great to hear our team made onboarding smooth and helpful. Capturing more comprehensive global content and adding to our content partnerships is an area we’re very focused on, so we're hoping you see improvements over the coming months. If there's specific publications you have trouble with regularly, please let our Editorial team know.

  ### 16. Comprehensive Media Tool with Excellent Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joannah C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I love that Muck Rack is a one-stop shop for me. It handles both coverage reports and the journalist database, so I don't need to jump between different apps or maintain my own database. I find it really valuable for personalizing pitches, allowing me to send personal messages to journalists I know in person.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I do find that occasionally it's tricky to set up a coverage report when you want to find out what local news coverage you've had. For example, I'm in Vancouver, and I want to know about how much coverage we've had in the Vancouver media, which should also include national media that cover Vancouver. But because they're based outside of Vancouver, they don't get included in my coverage report because it's filtered on the geolocation of the media outlet. So that's been a bit of a problem. But aside from that, everything's great.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack is invaluable for monitoring media coverage and accessing the journalists database. It also has great coverage dashboards that allow you to monitor yourself against competitors. The dashboards have awesome graphs and charts that I can show to our CEO to demonstrate increased coverage, reach, and share of voice.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi Joannah, thanks for the thoughtful review! We’re so glad Muck Rack serves as a true one-stop shop. It’s great to hear the dashboards and visual reporting are helping you clearly show impact, reach and share of voice to leadership. We also appreciate your feedback on Coverage Report setup. We're actively building a more advanced and flexible approach that will make capturing relevant coverage, including nuanced cases like this, much more seamless. Thanks again for sharing your experience and for being part of the Muck Rack community.

  ### 17. Streamlined Media Monitoring with Refined Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ally J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I love the coverage reports and use them every day; they provide a variety of valuable metrics in the dashboard, making monthly and quarterly reporting seamless. I also love the newly refined search features, which help me find specific articles quicker, saving time from looking through Google results. The coverage reports and search features are easy to use, accessible, and accurate. The initial setup was very easy, and the customer success reps are very helpful with questions.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I wish that you could update multiple article snippets at once in the coverage reports. This would be helpful when press releases are syndicated. Now, I have to manually update each snippet. Speed maybe. Sometimes when I'm updating the coverage report it can lag a bit.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack solves share of voice reporting and client mentions monitoring. It keeps coverage tracking centralized. The coverage report dashboard offers metrics for seamless monthly and quarterly reporting. The refined search features save time by quickly finding specific articles.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi Ally, thanks for the detailed review! We’re thrilled to hear you’re using coverage reports every day and that the dashboard metrics are making reporting seamless. It’s also great to know the refined search features are helping you find articles faster and save time. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with our customer success team.

We appreciate your feedback on bulk snippet updates and report speed. Streamlining workflows, especially for syndicated coverage, is important and insights like this help guide where we focus improvements. We’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. Thanks again for sharing your experience and for making Muck Rack part of your daily reporting process.

  ### 18. Streamlined Media Monitoring with Top-Notch Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristina D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I use Muck Rack for media monitoring, pitching, and media research. I appreciate that it streamlines media monitoring and makes it easier to track competitor coverage with the use of Muck Rack's trackers. It is organized and easy to use. The chat support is very helpful and easy to access when I run into a problem or have a question. I also appreciate how Muck Rack is continually innovating and improving its software. Additionally, switching to Muck Rack from Cision and Meltwater has been a positive change as those softwares do not compare to Muck Rack. The initial setup was easy.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

It would be great to track media feedback for a pitch directly in Muck Rack. I would love to be able to mark a journalist as not interested in this pitch any longer so I don't follow up. I would love to be able to comment and say that a journalist accepted an embargo. I currently keep track of these things in Google Sheets instead.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack streamlines media monitoring, making it easier to track competitor coverage with its trackers.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi Kristina, thanks for the thoughtful review! We’re so glad Muck Rack is helping you streamline media monitoring and manage pitching in one platform. It’s great to hear the transition has been a positive one and that our chat support team has been there when you need it.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on tracking feedback from the media on specific pitches. There's a few ways you can do this in Muck Rack. You can add pitch notes on the recipients tab of the pitch. You can also set custom notes within Preferences on the journalist profile itself. Thanks again for sharing such detailed input and for being part of the Muck Rack community!

  ### 19. Newsletter Feature Makes Sharing Press Mentions Easy and Impactful

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

The newsletter feature helps me organize our different press mentions and package them in a way that can be easily disseminated to stakeholders throughout the organization. This has done wonders in raising awareness for the impact of our PR team.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

The media monitoring software sometimes misses local outlets, particularly radio stations. But luckily, these can still be inputted manually into reporting software and newsletters.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack has been very helpful for obtaining contact information for reporters and outlets, especially when that information isn’t publicly available. It’s allowed us to expand our pitching reach and grow our media list, and it also makes it easy to reach out to journalists who cover us when we need to share corrections or provide updates.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad the newsletter feature is helping you raise visibility for your PR impact across the organization. Making it easier to share results with stakeholders is a big part of what we aim to support.

We appreciate your feedback on radio coverage and we’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. Improving coverage completeness is a key focus, and we’re working on smarter ways to capture missed mentions more effectively while reducing gaps. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

  ### 20. Effortless Reporting with Enhanced Filtering

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I like the reporting on Muck Rack; it's simple to put together and has great presentations, so anyone not working in PR can understand. I also appreciate how much the search keywords have improved and the improvement on filtering options, which help sort through the noise since our brand name is a common word. The initial setup of Muck Rack was easy and seamless.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I think there needs to be a higher capacity of keywords that can be created in the coverage columns. We have a lot of products with SKU numbers, I can only place so many in the column keyword options before I hit max.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack aids in reporting to executives on media impact, simplifies report creation, and presents data plainly. The improved search and filtering options help us navigate noise due to our brand name being a common word.

**Official Response from Gabrielle Smith:**

> Fantastic to hear that Muck Rack integrates easily with your workflow, and helps you show how your media coverage is growing over time. You are 100% correct that we are working on some enhancements to make it easier to narrow down your searches to get relevant results quicker. Stay tuned!

  ### 21. Easy Way to Find Journalists and Pitch the Media

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zach H. | Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

Easy to find journalists and pitch media

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

Journalist info not always up to date, the AI functionality seems nice but in reality isn't all that helpful, all around just isn't really helping me land pitches with my target media

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like the updates to the reporting functions, it makes it easy to define KPIs with my clients. I just haven't been able to find a client that wants that kind of information in a while.

**Official Response from Eliza Castillo:**

> Thanks for sharing your experience. We’re glad Muck Rack makes it easy to find journalists and manage outreach, and that the reporting updates are helping when you’re aligning on KPIs.

We hear your concerns around contact accuracy and AI usefulness. We’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. If you come across outdated profiles, you can click “Request update” to flag them for our data team. Our media research team can also spend more time building out coverage in specific areas.

We’re also continuing to invest in our AI capabilities, including tools like our Media List Agent to help you identify better-fit journalists and improve pitch targeting. Thanks again for the candid feedback.

  ### 22. Easy to Use, Fast Support, and Up-to-Date Email Pitch Tracking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aline O. | Media Relations Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

Easy to use, with a helpful team that answers almost instantly. The information is kept up to date, and I also like being able to track e-mails for pitches.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

For niche markets and specific media outlets, it can take some time for journalist contact details to be updated. For example, I’m based in Ireland, and I often have to double-check whether the journalists are still working at the newspapers I need here.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to find journalists to pitch to, and to better understand where my pitches are landing—or where they aren’t.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi Aline, thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad Muck Rack is helping you track pitches and understand where your outreach is landing. It’s great to hear our team has been responsive when you need support.

We appreciate your feedback on contact accuracy in niche and regional markets and we’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. If you notice a journalist who has moved roles, you can click “Request update” on their profile to flag it for our data team so we can review and update it.

If there are specific outlets or regions you focus on, feel free to reach out. Our media research team can spend more time building out coverage in those areas.

  ### 23. Muck Rack Makes Media List Building Fast, Organized, and Strategic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

What I like best about Muck Rack is how easy it is to use and how much time it saves me when building media lists and finding the right journalists. Everything is centralized, which makes it much simpler to search for contacts, understand their coverage, and keep things organized.

The biggest upside of using Muck Rack is that it makes my PR work more efficient and strategic. It helps me build more accurate media lists, improve the quality of my outreach, and ultimately strengthen my relationships with journalists by ensuring I’m reaching out with the right story at the right time.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

One thing I’ve noticed with Muck Rack is that some contact or coverage details can occasionally need a quick double-check elsewhere to ensure everything is fully up to date before pitching.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack helps solve a major problem I often face in PR, which is finding accurate, up-to-date media contacts and understanding what journalists are actively covering. Instead of spending a lot of time searching across multiple sources or dealing with outdated lists, I can quickly find relevant journalists and see their recent work in one place. That makes my outreach much more efficient and targeted.

From a business standpoint, Muck Rack helps me solve the challenge of building and maintaining high-quality media lists while improving the relevance of our pitches. It supports better decision-making around who to contact and when, which ultimately leads to stronger media relationships and more effective placements. It also helps reduce wasted effort by allowing me to focus on journalists who are actually aligned with the stories I’m pitching.

Overall, it helps me work more strategically, stay organized, and improve the quality of my PR outreach, which benefits both my day-to-day workflow and broader campaign results.

**Official Response from Eliza Castillo:**

> Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad Muck Rack is helping you build targeted media lists more efficiently and keep everything organized in one place. It’s great to hear the platform is supporting more strategic outreach and stronger journalist relationships.

We appreciate your feedback on contact and coverage accuracy and we’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. If you come across a profile that looks outdated, you can click “Request update” to flag it for our data team. Our media research team can also spend more time building out coverage in specific areas if needed.

Thanks again for sharing your experience.

  ### 24. Comprehensive Data, But Sometimes Misses the Mark

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christian P. | Director of Public Relations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I really like Muck Rack for the depth of information it offers. It provides me with access to journalist and influencer backgrounds, contact information, relevant coverage, and interest areas, which allows me to do a lot of research in a very short time. Having all this information in a single place saves me the hassle of jumping between different sites or resources.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

Occasionally, I run into a situation where Muck Rack does not have the right names or contact information for someone I'm looking for, or doesn't even have the person in their database.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack gives me access to journalist backgrounds, influencer details, contact information, and relevant coverage, allowing me to do a lot of research in a very short time. It serves as a single place to find this information without having to visit several different sites.

**Official Response from Eliza Castillo:**

> Thanks for the review. We’re glad Muck Rack is helping you research journalists and influencers more efficiently by bringing contact information, coverage and background details into one place. Saving time on research is exactly the kind of value we aim to provide.

We appreciate your feedback on contact accuracy and coverage depth and we’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. If you come across a profile that looks incomplete or outdated, you can click “Request update” on the profile to flag it for our data team. Our media research team can also spend more time building out coverage in specific industries or markets when needed.

Thanks again for sharing your experience.

  ### 25. Effortless Media Tracking with Minor Coverage Pains

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amber N. | Manager, Strategic Insights, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I find Muck Rack very easy to use and set up for coverage reports. I like that trackers now link to other reports or dashboards so I can update in one place and have it update everywhere. It's easy to see share of voice among competitors in media, track media mentions over time, and use widgets that can be shared with teams who have less familiarity with tools. Also, it's simple to create outlet lists for more specific reporting.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

It's a pain to go delete coverage that we don't want in the coverage report after updating the tracker. Broadcast is hard to clean of ads because transcripts are all different.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Muck Rack makes it easy to track media mentions over time, analyze competitive share of voice, and create reports that can be shared with teams unfamiliar with the tools.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi Amber, thanks for the thoughtful review! We’re glad Muck Rack is making it easy to build and maintain coverage reports, track share of voice and keep dashboards updated across reports. It’s great to hear the widgets and outlet lists are helping you share insights with teams who may be less familiar with the platform.

We also understand the frustration around manually removing unwanted coverage. Reducing noise and making monitoring cleaner and more accurate is a major focus area for us right now. We’re working on a more automated approach to coverage curation soon that will better distinguish meaningful mentions from irrelevant pickups, so you spend less time cleaning and more time analyzing. Stay tuned!

  ### 26. Real-Time Media Coverage Insights That Power Smarter PR Decisions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

What I like best about Muck Rack is the real-time visibility it gives me into Company and competitor coverage. I can quickly see who is writing about us, how the story is framed and where it is gaining traction, all in one place. That level of insight makes it easy to brief leadership, spot trends early and respond strategically.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

If I had to point to one area for improvement, it would be making the newsletter clipping process a bit more intuitive. While the functionality is strong and gets the job done, a slightly smoother user experience in building and customizing newsletters would make it even better.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack solves the challenge of fragmented media monitoring and time-consuming journalist research. Before using it, tracking Company coverage and competitor activity required manual searches across multiple platforms, which was inefficient and easy to miss key mentions.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi there, thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad Muck Rack is giving you visibility into coverage and respond strategically. Bringing that insight into one place is exactly what we aim to deliver.

We also appreciate your feedback on the newsletter clipping experience, our team is actively working on improving these workflows. Thanks again for sharing your experience and for using Muck Rack to power your monitoring and strategy.

  ### 27. Super Clean Interface and Easy Brand Performance Tracking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

Super clean and easy interface as well as having a greta connection with our account manager Ross who makes it easy to bring up any issues and makes sure they are followed up on, the platform makes it really easy for us to track performance of our brand and benchmarks

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

There are 10K and 100K limits on imports/ Exports for coverage reports which can be annoying for the sake of efficiency, the platform also struggles with sentiment of different languages which is understandable but ideally could be sorted

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack allows our team to track editorial coverage surrounding our team and others, which not too many other tools are able to do. This also helps us report back to shareholders on the biggest impacts on the team’s sentiment and coverage across different time periods.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Thanks for the great review! We’re glad the interface feels intuitive and that the platform is helping your team benchmark performance and report impact. We’ll share your kind words with Ross.

We appreciate your feedback on import and export limits. Manual exports are capped at 10,000 articles and automatic Coverage Reports at 100,000 to maintain platform performance and ensure export reliability. Applying a date range filter might be able to help narrow results. We’re also evolving how we determine and surface sentiment across coverage, with a focus on improving accuracy across languages. Stay tuned!

  ### 28. A Game-Changer for PR Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adrienne H. | PR Manager

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I use Muck Rack for PR program management and media outreach, and it solves several problems for me. The database gives me access to journalists and allows me to personalize pitches globally while tracking engagement and outcomes. I love the AI-enabled discovery of relevant journalists on a granular level throughout the platform. The support I've received through onboarding is A++, making me feel supported with an onboarding strategist available any time and 24/7 live chat. It's a great start, and the platform itself is slick, doing almost everything I need. I like that they're constantly innovating, rolling out several features leveraging AI to improve ease of use, discovery, and reporting. They're engaged with their own solutions, and I appreciate how Muck Rack matches appropriate journalists for my pitches at almost any stage.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I really like Muck Rack, but I'd appreciate two simple features. I have the global database and would greatly appreciate if content presented were translated. As it stands, I have to copy over to another tool to translate which is inefficient. Another feature request: I can personalize the message for a given journalist, but not the timing of my pitch delivery. Since journalists often prefer to receive pitches at specific times, this change would be much cleaner than having to set up new pitches for individual journalists. Lastly, while Muck Rack does offer newswire distribution, it's more expensive, so I use another tool to fill this gap. I'm hoping these rates decrease over time so I can consolidate.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack gives me access to journalists and helps personalize pitches, track engagement, and discover relevant journalists using AI. It supports my PR initiatives on tight timelines with a clean interface and useful workflows.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi Adrienne, thanks so much for the thoughtful review. We’re thrilled to hear Muck Rack is supporting your PR program with journalist discovery, personalized outreach and clear engagement tracking. It’s especially great to know the onboarding experience and access to our support team helped you feel confident getting started. We also love hearing that our work in AI and ongoing innovation is resonating with you.

We really appreciate your feature feedback around translation, pitch scheduling and distribution pricing and will be sure to share it with our product team. Thanks again for taking the time to share such detailed insights and for partnering with us as we continue to evolve the platform.

  ### 30. Effortlessly Streamlined Media Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katie H. | Senior Account Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I like the robust media lists and how easy it is to send pitches through the platform. Muck Rack significantly cuts down time on pitches and helps find media members we wouldn't otherwise be able to find. I also appreciate its feature of suggesting media members to add to my lists. The initial setup was very easy, which was a big plus.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

Reporting

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack helps me find media members, significantly cuts down time on pitches, and offers robust media lists. It's easy to send pitches through the platform, and it suggests media members we wouldn't otherwise find.

**Official Response from Gabrielle Smith:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Muck Rack! We are thrilled to hear that the comprehensive media database and pitching directly from the platform have saved you and your team countless hours. We also appreciate your feedback about coverage reports and will take that into consideration. Also wanted to mention that while there is not a single metric that adds audience across all media, there is a Total Placements metric that combines print, digital, and broadcast coverage.

  ### 31. Wide Media Reach, Needs a Pricing Tweak

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Temple C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

Honestly, we like everything about Muck Rack. But as beginning users, I would have to say that the response time for questions when we have them has been, you know, unbelievably quick, and it's been relatively easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

Honestly, I would say the only thing that might be able to be improved would be to make it a little bit more affordable, to add users maybe a price break as you add more users. Because we are a relatively small firm with 12 to 15 employees. We could only afford, two seats. So hoping down the line that we can improve that. Or expand that.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack lets us explore diverse media outlets and ensures accurate contacts. It provides easy access to ROI data for clients and responds to questions quickly, making it relatively easy to understand.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi Temple, Thanks so much for the kind review. We’re thrilled to hear your experience as new users has been a positive one and that our team’s quick response time has made it easier to get up and running. Thanks again for sharing your experience and for choosing Muck Rack.

  ### 32. Muckrack’s Straightforward UI and Smart Pitch Scheduling

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

The best parts of Muckrake are the user interface as it's straightforward and easy to use. Scheduling pitches is a great way to get pitches in a journalist's inbox at the right time, especially when they are in a different timezone. Being able to download media lists as an excel comes in handy but I do wish there was a way to integrate with Google Sheets as well.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I wish that I could send the same pitch at different times so it's personalized to a journalist's time preferences, if a journalist has a time preference listed they should automatically be sent that pitch during their specified preferred time. Updating retired journalists and podcasts that are no longer running as a lot of the podcasts we find are no longer active

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving the problem of finding the best journalists and their contact information

**Official Response from Eliza Castillo:**

> Great to hear the UI and pitch scheduling are working well for you, especially when managing outreach across time zones. It’s good to know media list exports are fitting into your workflow too.

We appreciate your feedback on more flexible pitch timing and contact accuracy, especially for podcasts. We’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. If you come across outdated profiles, you can click “Request update” to flag them for our data team. Our media research team can also spend more time building out coverage in specific areas.

Thanks again for sharing your experience.

  ### 33. Intuitive Interface, but Falls Short on Media Monitoring

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I like that the Muck Rack user interface is intuitive, making it not very hard to learn and I can usually get things done quickly.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

The media monitoring is pretty bad. On a weekly basis, it misses stories that my clients appear in, and it seems to be incapable of registering article refreshes or updates. It's very difficult and takes a long time to set up filters to exclude the enormous amount of spammy garbage on the internet. It needs to be easier to separate trash content from serious publications. Also, it's 2026, a feature like Keyhole for basic YouTube monitoring should not be an add-on cost.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Muck Rack for finding target media, media monitoring, and coverage reports. It speeds up finding target media, automatically captures most coverage, and provides PR analytics.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi Michael, thank you so much for your candid feedback. We’re glad to hear the interface feels intuitive and that it helps you move quickly when building lists and reports. Ease of use is something we take seriously.

That being said, we know missing coverage, filtering out low-quality content and not catching article updates are frustrating experiences. Improving coverage completeness and reducing noise is a major focus area for us right now. We’re actively evolving our monitoring with a smarter, more advanced curation approach designed to capture coverage more reliably and reduce missed mentions. We know how critical this is for client reporting and we’re committed to raising the bar here.

We also appreciate your feedback on pricing and add-ons like social listening and we’ll pass this feedback along to our team.

  ### 34. Comprehensive Coverage, But Slow Load Times

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julia R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I use Muck Rack to aggregate press clippings and find journalist contact information. I appreciate Muck Rack's very thorough results which aren't always available on similar sites like Google News. It also includes international coverage that Google sometimes omits, which is helpful because I have a lot of clients who are not based in the U.S. or have a strong international presence. This allows me to get the full scope of who is talking about them. Additionally, the initial setup of Muck Rack was extremely easy.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

Sometimes it can be slow to load

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Muck Rack to aggregate press clippings and find journalist contact information. It helps with press scans and finding information for pitches, providing thorough international coverage not always available on sites like Google News.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad Muck Rack is helping you aggregate international press coverage and uncover results beyond what’s available in standard news searches. It’s great to hear setup was smooth and that the platform supports your global clients.

We appreciate your feedback on loading speed. Coverage Report loading times are being improved in an update rolling out this month, so stay tuned. We’re always working to make the platform faster and more reliable. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

  ### 35. Streamlined Media List Building and Reporting with Promising AI Research Tools

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

Media list building, regularly updated reporter profiles, dashboards and reporting, generative AI research and reporting, pitch outreach and organization, and trackers.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

The new AI features definitely have potential. They still feel a bit clunky, but they do work as long as you refine your search terms and similar inputs.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s helped a lot with time, energy, targeting, and overall outreach efforts. The ease of building media lists, combined with the streamlined pitch structure, has made outreach much more manageable for both campaign work and one-off pitches.

**Official Response from Eliza Castillo:**

> Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad Muck Rack is helping streamline media list building, outreach and reporting. It’s great to hear features like Trackers, reporter profiles and our AI-powered research tools are helping save time and make campaigns more efficient.

Thanks again for sharing your experience.

  ### 36. Perfect Fit for My Business—Easy UX That Just Works

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

It’s the right size for my business, the UX is easy to use, and it works exactly the way it’s supposed to.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

Ultimately, I wish there were an even lighter version available for very small businesses. That said, I realize that’s probably a fairly small group of users, so it may not be worth offering.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a solution that would let me equip a PR team quickly so they could start doing outreach right away.

**Official Response from Eliza Castillo:**

> Thanks for the review. We’re glad Muck Rack has been a good fit for your business and that the platform helped your team get up and running quickly. Hearing that the experience feels intuitive and delivers what you need is great feedback for our team.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

Finding emails for the people I need to pitch, research for contacts at various outlets

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

When information is outdated (sometimes the reporter won't update their profile but someone from MuckRack could have captured the change - for example moving to a new outlet); also dislike how much it makes me sign in

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping me avoid excessive manual research on reporters, their coverage/beat, their contact information, and outreach preferences

  ### 38. Efficient Media Monitoring with Room for Growth

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarath Kumar S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I find Muck Rack more friendly and easy to access, which is really helpful for my media monitoring needs. I like getting more specific country publications, which makes it much easier to validate brand and competitors' mentions along with SoV analysis. I also appreciate that the initial setup was too easy and basic training was enough for a beginner. It's great that Muck Rack gives us better results compared to other products we use.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I think it could use more enhanced features like live tagging by creating custom fields and reducing noise using a few macro options.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack helps me get relevant data for brand and competitor mentions and calculating the Share of Voice. It's friendly, easy to access, and provides more specific country publications, easing the validation process.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad Muck Rack’s ease of use and coverage are helping you validate brand and competitor mentions with confidence. It’s great to hear setup was simple and that the platform is delivering stronger results for your monitoring and share of voice analysis.

We appreciate your feedback on live tagging and noise reduction. We’re actively evolving our monitoring with a more advanced curation approach designed to reduce noise and give you greater control over how coverage is organized. Stay tuned!

  ### 39. Streamlined Media Outreach with Stellar Usability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah H. | Account Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I really appreciate the reporter profiles feature on Muck Rack. It lets me see what reporters cover, helping me determine if they fit the subjects I'm pitching. This is especially valuable for freelancers since such detailed profiles can't really be found elsewhere. The initial setup was very easy, and we received a lot of help from the Muck Rack team. I find Muck Rack incredibly helpful and user-friendly compared to similar services.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

Sometimes reporter roles or contact info is outdated.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Muck Rack for gathering media coverage, finding reporter emails, media article tracking, and identifying reporters who fit my pitch topics.

**Official Response from Eliza Castillo:**

> Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad reporter profiles are helping you quickly find the right fit, especially for freelancers, and that the platform feels easy to use from the start.

Our media research team can also spend more time building out coverage in specific areas if helpful.

  ### 40. Essential Tool for Journalists to Aggregate Their Portfolio

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leandra N. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I use Muck Rack to curate and spotlight my writing portfolio because it makes it easy for me to find and compile articles I've contributed to various publications all in one place. The initial setup was very easy for me. I love its ability to collate all my online journalism pieces into one location. Without Muck Rack, I would have to bookmark and save links all the time, but this platform made it easy to set up once and just review and update as needed.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

At times I found it difficult to locate an article for inclusion in my profile, but that may have had more to do with the publication than Muck Rack's capabilities. When I tried to search and link articles to my profile, I couldn't always find my published works to connect.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack makes it easy to compile and share my writing portfolio, saving me from bookmarking links. It collates all my journalism pieces in one place and making updates is simple.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi Leandra, thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad Muck Rack is making it easy to build and maintain your writing portfolio and keep all your published work in one place. It’s great to hear the setup was simple and that updating your profile feels manageable over time.

We also appreciate your feedback on missing articles. While content does depend on the publication and what we have access to, definitely reach out to our support team to see if there's anything we can do on our side to improve access.

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

Easy to use. It's Generative Pulse Reports are incredible and love how easy it is to find journalists and their contact information, as well as finding broadcast clips about the company I work for. The onboarding process was easy and the Muck Rack onboarding team was extremely helpful.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I wish it was a bit easier to refine my news alerts.

  ### 43. Reputable Contacts and Smart Beat-Based Press Lists

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

Muckrack is the best place to find contact information that is verified and correct; it's also the best way to build press lists based on beats/previous coverage.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

It takes a while for search results to load, which adds a lot of time to press list creation

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping me refine press lists and search for reporters to pitch individually; it's also helping me look at reporters' previous articles

**Official Response from Eliza Castillo:**

> Thanks for the review. We’re glad Muck Rack is helping you build targeted press lists and identify the right journalists based on their beats and recent coverage. Supporting more informed, relevant outreach is exactly what we aim to do.

We appreciate your feedback on search performance. Improvements to search speed are actively rolling out, and we’re continuing to invest in making list building faster and more efficient. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

  ### 44. Robust Filters and Helpful Rep, but Broadcast Metrics Need More Insight

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I like the number of filters that are available and the amount of reporters/outlets that are available on the platform. Our rep from MuckRack has always been helpful as well.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I really dislike that the coverage reports don't include broadcasting metrics in a meaningful way. Yes, we are able to find the clips, but they do not show a summary of total viewership/publicity value (these have to be added manually).

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps solve the problem of missing reporter emails/beats and it helps me identify the right people to reach out to and how to reach them.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Hi there, thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad the filters and media database are helping you find the right reporters, and that your CSM has been a strong partner.

We appreciate your feedback on broadcast metrics in coverage reports. This is a focus area for us this year as we're looking to better display broadcast alongside other article formats in Coverage Reports.

In the meantime, a helpful workaround is creating a Dashboard with the "Total Broadcast Audience" widget or the "AVE" widget, which will show combined viewership and can be easily exported for reporting. This can help streamline what you’re currently calculating manually. If you need assistance on how to do this, reach out to your CSM or our support team, and they'll be happy to walk you through it.

  ### 45. Efficient Media List Management with Muck Rack

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I use Muck Rack for generating media lists and media alerts, and I find it valuable for finding news desk and reporter emails. I really like the ability to view an outlet and search for reporters, editors, or producers within that outlet, which is helpful since I work in media and public relations and often pitch different reporters. I rate it a 9 as it gets the job done and is easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

Setting up media alerts is a little confusing - I wish it were simpler

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Muck Rack for generating media lists, media alerts, and finding news desk and reporter emails. It helps me efficiently view an outlet and search for specific reporters, editors, or producers.

**Official Response from Eliza Castillo:**

> Thanks for the review. We’re glad Muck Rack is helping you quickly build media lists, find the right contacts and stay on top of relevant coverage through alerts. It’s great to hear the outlet-level search experience is supporting your day-to-day media relations work.

We appreciate your feedback on media alerts and we’ll pass this feedback along to our product team. We’re continuing to invest in search and monitoring workflows to make them even easier to use. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

  ### 46. Excellent Media List Database, but Pitch Open Rates Seem Inflated

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

The media list database is really helpful and easy to use

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I think the pitch sending mechanic isn't as accurate as other tools. I'm used to seeing 40-60% opens for my email marketing campaigns however I sometimes see 60% plus for Muckrack

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding relevant journalists to speak with, and taking the time to learn and understand what they want and need.

  ### 47. Great for Media Outreach, Needs Better Monitoring

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Theo G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

I love the bulk email features in Muck Rack. The follow-up feature is also really helpful. Being able to see who's read a pitch is valuable, and having the ability to email a list while knowing the contact info and outlets are up to date is great. The initial setup was straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Muck Rack?**

I find that UVMs could be easier to find. The monitoring features are underdeveloped and difficult to navigate, and I can never get the results I want.

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Muck Rack solves the problem of missing journalist emails and enhances my email process beyond Microsoft's batch sending. I love using it for bulk email features, follow-up, and knowing who reads pitches, plus keeping contact info up-to-date.

**Official Response from Jessica Andrews:**

> Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad the bulk email and follow-up features are adding value to your outreach. Seeing opens, managing lists and keeping contact data current are core to what we aim to support.

We appreciate your feedback on UVM visibility and monitoring usability. Monitoring is a major focus for us right now, and we'll soon be rolling out a smarter, more intuitive approach to search and coverage curation that will make results cleaner, easier to navigate and more aligned with what you’re looking for. Stay tuned!

Muckrack makes it very easy to send out pitches to media, and to build (and store) tailored media lists for our clients. It helps us organize across a remote company.

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Muck Rack?**

comprehensiveness of reporter database and the ease of use for the platform are its core strengths

some monir nuisances. Coverage alerts are not well thought out. 2MB filesize limit for imagery is a constant source of frustration

**What problems is Muck Rack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Official Response from Eliza Castillo:**

> Thanks for the review. We’re glad the breadth of our reporter database and the ease of use are helping your team distribute news more efficiently. Making media outreach streamlined and reliable is exactly what we aim to deliver.

I like that Muck Rack is very simple to use. Updating contact info is great because you can make sure you always have the up-to-date info and even add your own custom email. The live chat feature is helpful too, as you can import lists through it. Also, the initial setup was very easy.

Sometimes when exporting media lists, I wish you could see who wrote which article, and I also wish you could export notes.
