What I like best is the balance of performance and resource usage. Ministral 8B gives surprisingly good responses for an 8B model, especially for coding and general text tasks, without needing the infrastructure of a much larger model. The long context window is also a big plus when working with larger inputs, and I like that it supports function calling for application integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The main downside for me is that the quality can be a little inconsistent depending on the task. It performs really well for coding and structured tasks, but for more open-ended conversations or creative prompts, I sometimes find the responses less natural and need to rephrase the prompt. The licensing is also something to consider for commercial use, since it uses the Mistral Research License. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
