"Microsoft Word is a convoluted but unfortunately necessary program"

3/5

What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

The only upside about using Microsoft Word is that it is nearly a universal word processing software used by almost every office we work with. It is also utilized in Microsoft 365 and across several other platforms used by other businesses we do business with. When writing and editing specs, using the same platforms is important. What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

The different versions of Microsoft Word through the years have changed their fonts and formats just enough to be noticeable when creating specs and articles with those using different versions of Microsoft Word. Word does not streamline well across its own product, making a problem when you are expected to have a 100% cohesive document. The rules and other formatting options are difficult to work around, and finding solutions is just as tricky. It's a very frustrating program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Microsoft Word solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have to use Microsoft Word in my profession because it is the program used across the several other companies we partner with. It is used for collaboration on specs, submittals and rfi's within and in conjunction with other companies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
