## Microsoft Planner Reviews
  ### 1. Microsoft Planner

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike G. | IT Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Planner has made things for our small business a little easier. In once place, I can see related messages, jobs to do, what others are doing, along with timelines and related documents.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Projects that are long term and have to be found in the maze of plans. The items you work on most frequently are supposed to be to show, but not always. You have to click on the 3 dots to see additional menu items, like messages. For most of us, we start with the messages and the files, not in reverse

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

For small businesses MS Planner is a good project management tool. If you don't see it in your menu, you can go to tasks.office365.com

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed an inexpensive project management system and this fit the bill. It was a nice part of Office 365.

  ### 2. Great for collaboration without busy work

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Planner is extremely user friendly and requires very few clicks to add/update tasks. The calendar feature is seamlessly integrated to update in real time from the task organizer and has drag and drop functionality. We use it for scheduling marketing tasks across multiple teams that can’t overlap.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft needs to add the ability to view completed tasks in calendar view.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use planner for product launch plans that require input from multiple teams.

  ### 3. Useful tool that connects businesses

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Keeping up to date with people from different offices

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Sometimes it's not easy to tell when something has been updated

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

If you work with lots of teams in different offices, this is a handy and simple tool to keep track of workflow

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are in a business where we could be speaking to people in 4 different offices across 3 different countries, so it's made it a lot easier to keep on top of what work needs to be done by each team.

  ### 4. It is a great platform for communication

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Malika J. | Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Great way to set tasks for teams and to make sure everyone internally/externally is aligned.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

It can be hard to keep track and forget if you don't constantly look at the software.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems solved but beneficially its a great tool to keep track of tasks and deadlines

  ### 5. Good but incomplete

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristofer L. | Principal Interaction Designer, Design, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I like that it's integrated into Office 365, has a mobile app, and works a lot like Trello.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

It's shocking to me that the iPhone app doesn't work offline. To-do list apps absolutely need to work offline, every other one I've used does. Managing my lists is one of the best uses of my time during a flight, but I shouldn't have to get on the plane's wireless to do it. (so I use Trello and any.do instead)

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prioritizing tasks for projects, setting due dates, sharing assignments.

  ### 6. Good team app

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

This app allows me and my coworkers to collaborate more efficiently and see the our projects better . assists in team management and utilization. It is easy to learn ans use.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Not an easy way to alert others when one team member has not updated this week so plans can be not up to date.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Definitely work trying before implementing some expensive planner software

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This app allows me and my coworkers to collaborate more efficiently and see the our projects better . It also assists in team management and utilization.

  ### 7. Microsoft Planner review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley Fonteno B. | Instructor of English, Education Management, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft planner helps organize work, manage and assign tasks and collaborate within your teams to help enable a more modern workplace.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft planner should come with Microsoft office 365.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Microsoft Planner is a pretty functional organizer, collaboration is the real test. The planner supports internal teamwork well, but at the moment it isn’t set up well for customer sharing. If a collaborator isn’t on Office 365, they can’t see your plan.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everyone can see who is working on what at all times. Groups can attach files and have rich conversations around tasks. Planner helps keep track of your team's progress and stay on top of your work—from anywhere, on any device.

  ### 8. Planning made easy!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven H. | Water Distribution Superintendent, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I use planner to schedule construction projects for the city I work for. I love how simple it is to use and how easy it is to share your plan with others as well as allow others to update the plan.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

I wish it would allow me to bulk assign tasks. I have to assign tasks to a person one at a time.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prioritizing and making sure that we can actually reach our goals can be difficult if you don’t realize how many projects you have each day. Planner helps visualize that and track the status of tasks.

  ### 9. I wanted this to work

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Buckets for planning different task, and ability to assign team members

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Is not friendly for rollout or multisite project management. Documents added to planner can not be saved in an onsite server.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Good for managing a single project with a set of task.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted to watch the flow of a project from start to finish, watching task complete.

  ### 10. i love this platform!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

this is one of the best online calendars. easy to share so that other coworkers can easily view your schedule and plan events around meetings. i like how customizable you can make the calendar and set different colors or have certain alerts. it is also super wonderful that you can also download the app onto your phone and the calendar will transfer over onto your mobile device.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

sometimes when events overlap it is hard to tell which event is which and at what time certain events happen. first sharing your calendar with other people can sometimes be confusing but after doing it a certain amount of times it becomes easier.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

definitely use the alert feature.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

a benefit is that its universal and basically every computer user can use this platform plus can use on your mobile device as well.

  ### 11. Better than Task Builder through Outlook Email, But Only Good for Small Tasks

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex N. | Overnight Stocker, Retail, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I enjoy that it's an upgrade from the task builder in the original outlook mail that we're all used to. It's expansive and is easy to share among a team. It's also easy to visualize a workflow for what needs to be done and what has already been completed.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

It's not great for large tasks and corporate work. Any job that requires multiple smaller tasks within it, such as event planning or design projects, it's too time consuming to assign and to input what needs to be done.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

It's great for small scale task based businesses. It comes with an Office 365 subscription which is conveniently priced compared to other monthly subscription task managers.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Running a sports industry is stressful and overwhelming at times, but Planner helps us consistently stay on the same page as far as what needs to be done. We use it to assign weekly who is covering which game and what stats/social media posts need to be created or researched.

  ### 12. Makes being a team much easier.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Individual & Family Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft planner is wonderful to use. I am able to share events and documents with my colleagues and it's a place where we can all talk. A must when working as a team. It's a way for us all to stay on task and be on the same page.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

I do not see any downsides to Microsoft planner. It is user friendly and helps me manage my work schedule and share important information and documents.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Definitely try it out. You won't be disappointed.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to stay organized and not forget about due dates or appointments. I can share things easily with my colleagues.

  ### 13. Microsoft Planner in our office

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I like how you can setup tasks and assign team members to it. I like how all communications, messaging and document sharing, can be done in it.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Sometimes I feel like I can get lost trying to find a certain project. I also don't always get notifications of new tasks or communications from other team members.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Planner to better organize and keep track of projects that are currently going on in our office.

  ### 14. The Ultimate Planner

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

The space for collaboration is endless here. Whether a personal project or group effort, Microsoft Planner offers the space for team members to navigate project management efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Within one network of planning, it would be ideal to break out to-dos into different teams, under the same umbrella. So Jenny and Jack are working on XYZ at the same time Sally and Sam are working on ABC, but each team can only see the other's progress by checking things off - not updates for late tasks, etc.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Team collaboration is strong in this organization, so finding software to compliment that work environment need is essential. With the digital age in full swing, having a platform such as Microsoft Planner providing the space for collaboration, via the same digital means we work through regularly - well... it just makes sense!

  ### 15. Easy-to-use tool that allows you to organize your work efficiently

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Airlines/Aviation | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

One of the main ones that I have experimented with this application within the Microsoft environment is that it ends the chaos that involves organizing teamwork, helping to be more productive. With Planner I have managed to allow your team to create, organize and delimit tasks, in real time with the other members of the project without having to waste time on other things.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

One of the aspects that I do not share is that once a plan is collaborated, its members will know what other members are working on and this can result in a lot of information that is not necessary being shared equally.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Planner offers an effective solution for task management. This tool, which belongs to the Office 365 package. In short, manages the daily tasks to meet dates and collaborate with other people.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool has helped in my work by attaching files to tasks, sharing and even having dialogues about tasks using only one application. Deliveries of projects meet objectives and usually do not take long.

  ### 16. Professional Co-working platform with user-friendly interface.

Microsoft planner enables our professional working team to organize and sort out the tasks in a much reliable way . Each and every team member can easily get connected and share the files on demand. It also enable us to create plans and collaborate with our team members with more dedication and reliability.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft planner requires the subscription for the Microsoft 365. Due to this limitation , it is limited to few co-workers and hinders its productivity.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Its an effective product and it is much more reliable than other highly paid casual visual communication tools .

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have implemented this product in our organization for better work sharing and effective team planning which leads to more efficient results in a more friendly environment,

  ### 17. Planner helps our teams keep projects organized

**Reviewed by:** Marshall H. | Business Systems Analyst, Accounting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Planner uses cards in a sort of Kan-Ban system that really works for our team

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

It needs to integrate better with Outlook

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Because we have O365, the adoption is very easy to get by the users. It keeps projects across teams organized and we can track everything, and we know where things are at without all the email clutter.

  ### 18. Microsoft Planner

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2018

Clean interface, easy to use. Can keep track of tasks needed. Can visualize all plans in one location. We can favourite plans so that they're easily found when we sign in. We can easily assign tasks and keep track of its progress once it's completed. Labeling the tasks by colour really helps to organize different tasks when there are too many

There are too many recent tasks and it clutters the screen. It would've been nice if we could set the time to only include tasks within 3 last months

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Planning interdisciplinary meetings. Benefits: keeping track of tasks to accomplish before the meeting is due

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Very easy to use

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaboration across teams, awareness and transparency in what folks are working on

  ### 20. Good but getting there

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

It is very simple to use. It's basically a stripped down (easy) version of Project.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Too trimmed down. Microsoft has the capability to include some simple programming to the platform like dependencies that would make Planner perfect for someone not ready to jump into Project. Also not ideal for freelance management.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

This is not an out of the box solution. You will need to create your won template plans for your business that you can then re-use. There is also no dependecies options right now. So if a plan ends up behind schedule for whatever reason, you need to manually update all future tasks within the plan.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project and time management. Planner makes it easy at a snapshot to see how projects are moving along toward completion, you can see asset utilization and if anything is falling behind.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

No recommendations.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Some work employees have limited or no access to emails. Planner helps to collaborate with those employees so they do not miss important events.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2018

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2018

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I like that a user can implement a plan, integrate it with Outlook calendar, and communicate with the participants directly, keeping track of everyone's progress

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

The inability to search in the windows implementation of the application. The ios app allows the user to search for a specific plan, without scrolling the all active plans.
