What I like most about MEPFlow is how much of the mechanical design process it brings into one simple, intuitive workflow. Instead of constantly switching between spreadsheets, calculation tools, drawings, and separate software, MEPFlow lets you design directly on the floor plan while automating many of the repetitive calculations in the background.
The automation is probably the biggest advantage. Heating and cooling loads, ventilation requirements, airflow, duct sizing, domestic water sizing, hydronic flow rates, pipe sizing, equipment requirements, and other system calculations can all be connected directly to the design. Changes are much easier to manage because the calculations and layout work together instead of feeling like completely separate tasks.
The interface is clean and surprisingly easy to learn considering how much engineering functionality is built into it. It removes a lot of the repetitive work that normally takes up time during mechanical design and lets you focus more on the actual engineering decisions.
For anyone doing HVAC, plumbing, or hydronic design, the biggest upside is the amount of time MEPFlow can save while keeping the entire workflow organized in one place. It feels like mechanical design software built specifically around the way engineers and designers actually work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far, I haven’t come across any drawbacks. The platform is intuitive, well organized, and continues to make the mechanical design workflow faster and easier. For the way I use it, MEPFlow has been a very positive experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
