## Markup Hero Reviews
  ### 1. Easy app, clean interface

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolo N. | S, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Markup Hero?**

It's a great tool for taking screenshots, making them up, then saving or sharing them. It provides a clean, simple and intuitive interface within a new bowser tab that opens.

**What do you dislike about Markup Hero?**

Pricing. there s a limit to the number of fee monthly markups. After that, it starts to add up if you only have limited use (I probably only take screenshots and make markups a few times a week at max).

**What problems is Markup Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For work, I was very reluctantly moved from a Man to A Windows device. Windows does not include a native screenshot tool that allows screenshots with markups. This tool solved my problem.

  ### 2. More than a cloud Snip & Sketch replacement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John C. | Technical director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Markup Hero?**

I love the non-destructive annotation; each text box, arrow or scribble is fully editable and removable. It's so handy to fine tune instructions.

**What do you dislike about Markup Hero?**

Nothing really, I like the polished UX/UI and the logo and branding has a nice 80s toy feel. If I'm being picky, I'd like to see an option to capture a browser tab or window, rather than drawing the screenshot capture area each time.

**Recommendations to others considering Markup Hero:**

It's cheap for the value it provides. I use it to communicate changes to a design, or a website problem.

**What problems is Markup Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As it's in the cloud, I can send a link rather than paste in something from Snip & Sketch. Large companies strip out any embedded images.

  ### 3. I love the scrolling screen capture feature

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark L. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Markup Hero?**

I use this all the time. I like how I can quickly capture something and share a link, using my own domain name.

**What do you dislike about Markup Hero?**

I have had trouble getting screen regions to capture, so I often capture the whole screen or tab and then crop, if needed.

**What problems is Markup Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing coupons, information, website design that needs fixing, and more.

  ### 4. Massive Improvement in my Workflow

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Feh M. | Marketing Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Markup Hero?**

- The ability to edit/re-edit saved screenshots quickly.
- Browser independent.
- Short key to take a screenshot.
- Captures screenshot, uploads it and the link to share is copied to my clipboard.
- Can import PDFs to annotate.

**What do you dislike about Markup Hero?**

- No scrolling screenshots.
- The process to link multiple screenshots that are already stored in Markup Hero is cumbersome.
- Missing folder/sub-folders. I'd like to use folder to better organize markups so my homepage is not too cluttered.

**What problems is Markup Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I may be in the minority here but I've been using what I think is the default screenshot utility in Firefox for a long, long time. I was introduced to Markup Hero through a post in a group for entrepreneurs on Facebook. Before Markup Hero if I had to share anything more than a simple screenshot, my process was quite clunky. As it involved:

1. Capturing the screenshot and saving it to a local folder.
2. Browsing to said local folder and locating the saved screenshot.
3. Opening the screenshot in a local graphics editing program.
4. Editing/Annotating the screenshot.
5. Uploading this screenshot to a publicly accessible URL.
6. Sharing the URL with whoever I intended to share the screenshot with. Phew! Finally done.

I may have omitted a step or two, but as you can see it used to be a cumbersome and annoying process. With Markup Hero all of the above is streamlined in one simple to use app so it saves me needless aggravation.

  ### 5. Beautiful, Simple with competitive advantages

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohammed A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Markup Hero?**

— My best feature is that for the first time I see that I can annotation on screenshot or photo I have, Share the link, then I can re-edit my annotation at any time and with the same sharing link! Even after I send the link to anyone, I can still make the changes as well, The link will be updated directly.
— Having their own application on all platform: Windows, Mac and Linux (beta).
— Google Chrome extension.
— A simple, beautiful and uncomplicated user interface, It can be used by anyone, even basic user.
— Take screenshots or upload images from my device, support PDF files, put notes on multi pages as optional.
— File size up to 50 MB per file.
— Password protection (only in the paid plan)

**What do you dislike about Markup Hero?**

— The top bar for editing shouldn't show for person I'm sharing a screenshot with, even if the tools does not work for them.
— There is no Firefox add-on.
— The writing cannot be centered or started from right to left, this is important for some languages like Arabic and Hebrew.
— No short link, when I click on (copy bottom) there must be a service to convert links into shorter links (on the fly).
— No branding. I can't put my own logo, even in the paid plan.
— The free plan only has 30 days to keep the file and this is a very short time.

**Recommendations to others considering Markup Hero:**

Try it first, then judge

**What problems is Markup Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Put some notes with my team or explain how to solve the problems, highlight important text.

  ### 6. Research and productivity superhero

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dr Helen T. | Founder & Clinical Psychologist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Markup Hero?**

Annotating, highlighting, drawing on screenshots - all easy breezy and quick to share, download, or copy to clipboard. Unlike some other clipping extensions I've used, this doesn't just allow me to copy a few lines. I can now highlight what's relevant, but keep the context, so I won't have to click back to the source to figure out where the paragraph came from. Furthermore, I can add my own notes right beside it.

**What do you dislike about Markup Hero?**

It takes a few seconds to open up the markup screen and to load up the link. Would like it to be a bit quicker.

**What problems is Markup Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do a lot of reading and researching online. When I read something, I'd like to save it for future reference. Saving just the link doesn't suffice as I'd have to re-read the whole article later on to remember why I saved the link, or which part I particularly want to focus on. Now, with Markup Hero, I can highlight the relevant parts, but also keep the whole article, not just snippets of texts that lack context. Love it.

  ### 7. Very nice solution for quickly shared annotated screenshots

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Flo Z. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Markup Hero?**

I like the ease of use to annotate and share a screenshot. So far my goto-tool was Snipaste, which is great. Markup Hero takes it to the next level by making it so convenient to back and forth between myself and a client. The sharing feature bundled with an intuitive interface is a win.

**What do you dislike about Markup Hero?**

I don't like the fact, that MH has to go through the Windows Snipping tool. This means: if I press ctrl-shift-1 to make a screenshot the Win Snipping tool will open, then I drag out the desired frame which will prompt the Snipping tool save window. I close the window and only then the screenshot is loaded into Markup Hero.
It is a minor hassle, but nevertheless it requires a few unnecessary clicks.
I am hoping this is sorted out in the near future.
(for your info: Win 8.1. Maybe it is a non-issue in 10...I have not tried yet)

**Recommendations to others considering Markup Hero:**

Get/try at least the free tier, if you're in the market for a screen capture and sharing tool. It is a really nice option.

**What problems is Markup Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Markup Hero makes it effortless for me to share annotated screenshots with clients and on Forums. An intuitive GUI and accessible upload and sharing features make it a win for me.
I do recommend it.

  ### 8. Cost Effective Tool for Design Collaboration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Balasubramanian V. | Director - New Business, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Markup Hero?**

I run a small Digital Transformation organization with clients across the globe. I have tried few tools for sharing my design mockups a]with my client to get their approvals, but somehow we did not get it right.

Couple of months back we came across Markup Hero and without any great expectation tried it. To our surprise performed really well.

The simplicity to use is its biggest clincher both from our side and customer side. Now in the current situation even with my team being spread across geography, collaboration is a breeze.

What we liked was its integrations with Google drive and Slack. Markup Hero has now become an integral part of our toolset.

**What do you dislike about Markup Hero?**

My biggest problem is I cannot take a screenshot of a part of the screen, it is always full screen.
Scrolling capture feature is also missing as I review the application.

**Recommendations to others considering Markup Hero:**

if you are looking at a low cost collaboration tool for creative work, this is it.

**What problems is Markup Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaboration
Communication, less ambiguity in understanding design brief
Because of this less rework so time saved.

  ### 9. Easy-to-use and tool with more potential for improvements

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David Christopher C. | Senior Business Analyst / Enterprise Project Manager, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Markup Hero?**

1. I like that the app loads fast - faster than my usual cloud annotation apps I know and use (CloudApp, Droplr)
2. Very easy to use, no need for much intros. When you start, you're already presented with the annotation screen
3. Screenshot app is straightforward
4.

**What do you dislike about Markup Hero?**

1. Add the capability to resize the drawings you made using pen tool (similar to the other shapes). Currently you can only rotate whatever you created and not resize it for the pen tool
2. I like the text options, but please add in more ways of customizing the fill and text colors (such as a color palette option)
3. More color options for shapes and lines - maybe add a color palette so that users can add their own hex codes
4. On initial start of creating the shapes, pressing shift doesn't work. It works only after the shape has been created within the canvas (so that the ratio is preserved)
5. Add the capability to choose how to take a screenshot in the screenshot app (Full-screen, region, circle, etc. - currently it only supports free-form)
6. Add the capability of the screenshot app to view past screenshots like a library (similar to Snagit)
7. Option in the screenshot tool to NOT show the uploaded annotation in the web
8. Add video uploads and screen recordings

**Recommendations to others considering Markup Hero:**

If you're looking for a simple tool to use for screenshots and annotations, this is the tool for the job.

**What problems is Markup Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find that the interface for Droplr and CloudApp is kind of slow on Windows. The screenshot tool for this one is neat and fast, and I hope that with the feature updates, the ones I mentioned above can be incorporated.

  ### 10. An excellent screen shot and annotation tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeheen Mahmood Z. | Senior Data Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Markup Hero?**

I absolutely love the way the developer is introducing new features. I have used several tools for taking screenshots and annotations. But nearly 99% of their features were identical that simply did the job. And as users I didn't even realize we could expect more out of these tools.

Markup Hero is definitely pushing the boundaries. I love the PDF tools, editing history and link sharing feature. It helps me and my team to keep track of an entire process. And direct integration with Slack is an excellent bonus.

**What do you dislike about Markup Hero?**

I would have liked this to work as a standalone tool instead of a browser extension. I personally use several browsers simultaneously. Not all of them support extensions properly. Also sometimes I need screenshots taken outside a browser. In such cases an app installed directly would be a much better option.

**Recommendations to others considering Markup Hero:**

If you are looking for a robust and lightweight screenshot and annotation tool, this is a really good option.

**What problems is Markup Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work with a remote team and explaining new tasks or procedures over chat or calls usually took a good part of my day. Now I can take screenshots on the go, annotate and share links to my team without leaving a workflow in the browser. This helps to save many minutes, if not hours every day.
