"Flawless OTP and Magic Link Testing with Smooth CI/CD Integration"

5/5

What do you like best about Mailosaur?

Honestly, the best part about Mailosaur is how smoothly it handles OTPs and magic links in automated testing. Instead of wrestling with flaky real inboxes, its SDKs integrate cleanly with tools like Cypress or Playwright, so you can pull verification codes right away. That, in turn, prevents tests in my CI/CD pipeline from failing just because of delivery delays. And if a test still breaks, the web dashboard makes it easy to inspect the exact email or SMS and quickly figure out what went wrong. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mailosaur?

The biggest downside is definitely the price—it gets expensive fast, especially for larger teams because they charge per-user on top of your message volume. Also, the SMS testing features are locked behind higher tiers that are tough for smaller budgets to justify. While the web dashboard works, searching and filtering through massive batches of test messages can feel a bit clunky. Finally, the strict data retention limits mean your old test emails disappear pretty quickly unless you pay to upgrade. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Mailosaur solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before Mailosaur, testing things like password resets, signup flows, and SMS 2FA was a massive headache because we had to scrape real Gmail accounts or hack together Google Voice scripts, which broke constantly. Mailosaur solves this by giving us isolated, virtual mailboxes with an API that grabs verification codes and extracts links instantly.

The biggest benefit is that it completely removes flakiness from our CI/CD pipeline; our automated tests now run in seconds without getting blocked by spam filters or accidentally picking up leftover emails from a previous test run. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
