"A Good Tool to Try Out Gameplay Loops!"

What do you like best about Machinations?

I can easily test out the rng elements in my gameloop without having to make an actual prototype for it. It's ease to use as it's basically a visual builder but requires you to have a bit of coding knowledge to know how some nodes and their values work. And don't get me started on their customer support- they are amazing at helping! They literally help you make a whole model based on your requirements if you are unable to figure it out! What do you dislike about Machinations?

Back when we were experimenting, their free tier only allows 50 models, which was a huge blocker for us as we were not able to implement a basic game loop using only 50 nodes. They should consider increasing it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Machinations solving and how is that benefiting you?

It's a huge time saver. Instead of spending days on making an actual prototype for a game just to test its game loop, we can achieve the same with Machinations in a matter of hours. This allows us to simulate all the possible outcomes in a matter of minutes. Not only does this save time, it also saves a lot of money as we need to pay the developers for the prototype.
