The most unique thing about Luminance is that it has the Legal-Grade AI technology, which allows contract analysis and negotiation at a much faster rate compared to traditional processes. It uses the Mixture of Experts model architecture to analyze a large number of contracts in order to identify risks, key terms, and clauses anomalies in just a few minutes. It also integrates with Microsoft Word to allow the negotiation process to be conducted directly from the primary workspace without any loss of accuracy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Disadvantages of Luminance stem from complexities of its enterprise setup, high costs associated with implementation and the price barrier itself. Custom fallback positions and playbooks take a lot of time and efforts on the side of legal operations to be set up properly in order to get full advantage of the technology. Moreover, although the system manages standard business agreements flawlessly, stylized and complicated legal clauses may lead to rare occurrences of incorrect redlines, which still need to be verified by attorneys. Lastly, Luminance utilizes opaque quote-only pricing, which is too expensive for small teams due to being built specifically for large law firms and corporate legal departments.
