Loading time is slow for large reports. Quite a bit of a learning curve for new developers.

**What problems is Looker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Looker enabels customizable and real-time data explorations, allowing us to derive insights without needing extensive SQL knowledge. It also has an amazing data modeling layer that ensures consistency and accuracy in reporting. UI is good and the added visuals too.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Looker?**

I used Looker Studio to create a gamified dashboard, making it easy for my management to understand and facilitate decision-making.

**What do you dislike about Looker?**

However, I faced numerous issues with data connections.

**What problems is Looker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Looker solves the problem of complex data visualization by providing an easy-to-use platform that allows for the creation of insightful dashboards. This benefits me by enabling me to deliver accurate results efficiently.

  ### 14. Looker is awesome for embedded insights and analytics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alci H. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Looker?**

Looker's ease of use has allowed us to provide it a self-service platform to all of our different product domain teams. Looker modeling is extremely easy to adopt. You can get powerful visualizations and dashboards with just a few clicks.

**What do you dislike about Looker?**

It's limited when it comes to pixel perfect reporting. It allso has limitations with bradning/theming capabilities. In addition, some of our our users would like to use it for operational reporting use cases. The 5000 row limit has been a show stopper for a few of our customers.

**What problems is Looker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to quickly create dashboards and embed it within our own application. Many of the other reporting solutions we use did not allow itself for easy embedding.

  ### 15. A great tool for reporting and Data checking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Looker?**

The main thing I like about looker is how easy the tool is to use. I can pull up relevant reports and track easily my stats and the team's stats overall on any given day.

**What do you dislike about Looker?**

No dislikes of Looker so far. Sometimes the reports take a while to load up, however that could be my PC or internet connection, so I can't fault looker for that.

**What problems is Looker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main benefit from using looker is the time I am saving to pull data. Pulling data manually can be a very laborious task, however, Looker allows me to do this with minimal effort!

  ### 16. Not an embedded analytics tool, worst decision to go with it

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sameer G. | Private Investments, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Looker?**

It demos well, and has good drill down capabilities

**What do you dislike about Looker?**

Looker doesn't have the DNA to be an embedded analytics tool, but we certainly got sold on that idea to make our reports be powered by Looker. As bad as the product is, their support and CS teams are worst. The renewal monkey shows up when it's contract renewal time, but never to help us solve problems and we have made the decision to peel back.

1. Poor framework for customizing reports - this is not for the faint of heart. But assuming you can get through this and get all your customers to learn this, the rest kills it.

2. Poor performance - loading times awful, and their own iframe takes atleast 10 seconds to load (without data).

3. The download functionality is clunky. If you can get through the complexity of customizing reports and perforamance and take the time to build a report, you can't download in the same format you built - the headers are clunky. When we took our case to the head of the division, her response verbatim - "Why would you take all the time to build the report and then download in excel?". This highlights they are tone deaf and don't want to undertstand how users are using it (we are a finance application and finance folks live in excel).

When asking for help, we never get past L1 or L2 support, the renewal monkey will show up eventually but we will be gone by then.

**What problems is Looker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Offer clean and simple reporting that can be easily customized by our users

  ### 17. One of the best reporting tool that I've been using for years

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrea Maie R. | Chargeback Associate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Looker?**

What's best about Looker is its strong capability in data integration and preparation. This helps our company process data in real-time. I also like it's feature that you can integrate in your slack!

**What do you dislike about Looker?**

The interface gets tricky sometimes. Specially when managing access in files and apps.

**What problems is Looker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Looker helps us in reporting. This is where we extract our daily productivity reports.

I previously used this as an investigation tool for disputes. Looker helps us get more information of the cardholder's activity in our banking app.

  ### 18. An amazing tool to create reports and dashboards

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric E. | Client Service Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Looker?**

all the different ways to create different reports and show data.

**What do you dislike about Looker?**

the data sources break too easily and sometimes, changes do not take effect unless you close it and open it again

**What problems is Looker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Is creating a live link where once data is updated the clients can go into without me having to share the reports.

  ### 19. Easy to use and customize visuals.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Looker?**

I appreciate how simple it is for me to edit and update queries and visualizations. I am not very technical, and can still manage to create my own dashboards.

**What do you dislike about Looker?**

I wish there were more out of the box recommendations on charts that may be better to display the data.

**What problems is Looker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Looker is the solution for our company to make data accessible to all teams to make better decisions.

  ### 20. Data vizualisation at its best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Looker?**

The beautiful dashboards and expanded data sources that we can choose from.

**What do you dislike about Looker?**

None I can think of right now. It's a good one.

**What problems is Looker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To understand data from across different sources in one view dashboard.

  ### 21. Looker is useful but has a steep learning curve

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Looker?**

I like that there are a lot of options for how you can display your data, it's versatile in that you can do a lot with a query and automatically have Looker write LookML for you.

**What do you dislike about Looker?**

Looker takes a long time to learn and there's not a lot of good documentation introducing you to how it works. Specifically, at the enterprise level, a Looker repository can have a lot of nuances that are unclear to a new user. This is a specialized use case, but it would be good specifically at the enterprise level to have documentation detailing some of the specifications of navigating the platform. A lot of the documentation I found was also based on the old Looker UI which is no longer applicable.

**What problems is Looker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us monitor our tables to ensure there are no anomalies in our pipeline that could cause users to be impacted or that could impact revenue. Namely we need to monitor each step of a pipeline which we have dashboards for.

  ### 22. I've been using looker for 2 years

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raad S. | Data Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Looker?**

Best thing about looker is the UI, it's super friendly, easy to understand, and has many options.

**What do you dislike about Looker?**

Honestly, I don't dislike it, it's only that I some options that I need aren't available, and requires some workaround.

**What problems is Looker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time efficiency

  ### 23. Easy to use, user friendly, and has nice basic features to provide insight on business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marianne F. | CX Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Looker?**

Drag and drop - It's so easy to use and to connect with other platforms.

**What do you dislike about Looker?**

What I dislike is the limited amount of color options for personalization.

**What problems is Looker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I want to give my executives visibility of the work we do in my department - where results are tipically presented more in words than number. Looker allows us to showcase both.

  ### 24. My experience with Looker Studio has been streamlined, allowing me to synchronize my data.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Looker?**

The best part about Looker Studio is its visual capabilities for the various tables/graphs; along with being able to source data from a plethora of different sources for real-time updates.

**What do you dislike about Looker?**

I believe Looker Studio lacks visual presentation compared to the likes of Tableau and PowerBI, as well as the advanced capabilities those more enterprise options provide.

**What problems is Looker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Looker is solving my problems of integrating data from various sources, like website, social media, and paid advertisements, providing me a unified view of my marketing efforts. This is benefiting me as it allows me to look at all my information through a unified lens instead of siloed perspectives.

  ### 25. It's quite impressive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

Looker solves problems related to data accessibility and insights by providing a unified platform for data exploration, visualization, and analysis. It allows users to access real-time data, create customizable dashboards, and perform in-depth analysis without needing extensive technical skills. This benefits users by enabling data-driven decision-making, improving reporting efficiency, and fostering a culture of analytics across the organization.

There are some bugs in the looker environment with makes the works frustating at times, the customer service was not that greate

It's allowing the data warehouse to integrate into the looker environment and the peoples with no knowledge about the database can generate the report for their data driven decision making process.

  ### 33. Looker - Love Hate relationship

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chandrasekar A. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Looker?**

Looker has been a lifesaver in many aspects for my team. The ability to quickly spin up looks and dashboards and gain business intelligence has been amazing. We have been using looker for over 3 years now and primarily selected looker for it's easy integration with DialogFlow ES.

**What do you dislike about Looker?**

The fact that it did not scale to DialogFlow CX. As we moved, we found it extremely hard to get DialogFlow CX data into Looker without a native plug-in.
I also dislike Looker's licensing model where there is no free option for viewers.

**What problems is Looker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We currently use looker to analyze our DialogFlow bot performance.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Cosmetics | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Looker?**

The ease with which you can explore your data, experimenting with visualizations and adding any columns that I want, especially customizeable ones is incredibly easy even with minimal experience

**What do you dislike about Looker?**

The sharing mechanism is quite convoluted, sharing between people from the same organizatio is compicated. Both finding the definitions but also, the fact that it's file based and not report / dashbaord based necessarily means that to share something I have to copy it into a difference folder and give access to that and it's not part of the share flow so if I am tryingt o share with someone that doesn't already have access I can't immediately do that and have to exit, go to the accss definitions, add them, and then go back

**What problems is Looker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Makes creating dashboards to track flows and mettrics very simple and accessible
