## About Locust
An open source load testing tool.

## Locust Reviews
  ### 1. One of the best load testing framework

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Komal Ashokkumar J. | Senior SET, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Locust?**

1. The versatile nature of the tool. In a sense, that we can simulate complex scenarios in load tests.
2. Locust is widely used, and so it has an extensive online support group.
3. Ramping up and down the user concurrency is valuable and easy to do.
4. Reports are intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Locust?**

1. Some obvious and essential things are not supported, like, for instance, if we want to ensure that some data is unique across the locust slaves. Locust doesn't have an easy way to do that and needs complex solution implementation to solve the problem.
2. Minor concern, but I hate that the locust load test charts are not persistent, and page refresh leads the charts to reset.

**What problems is Locust solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Trying to test the kind of load the system can stand at work.
2. And also, to find what optimum instance capacity we will need in production.

  ### 2. Locust-Best at Load Testing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deepika T. | Data Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Locust?**

Locust is open source, very easy to set up and use. Locust can be used to test almost anything.
It is very scalable and works in a distributed environment.
It has simple documentation and can use
basic programming skills for testing initially.

**What do you dislike about Locust?**

All things need to be done manually; there is nothing like capture or save. Minimal programming skills are required. Also, you need to understand some concepts of HTTP if you are using Postman.

**What problems is Locust solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Locust in my organization to run a multi-user Load Test and develop scripts in Locust. Moreover, used it for testing the documents accessed by multiple users.

  ### 3. Generates good load and very light to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Varun V. | Sr Quality Assurance Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Locust?**

Its very light and takes less memory as compared to other open source tools like jmeter

**What do you dislike about Locust?**

UI could be improved and can be made more informative for those who want to use UI instead of command line

**Recommendations to others considering Locust:**

If you are looking for open source light weight tool you can go for locust

**What problems is Locust solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to attain enormous load with single instance which for which we req 3-4 node cluster of jmeter. Python is also easy to create scripts

  ### 4. best app for testing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Locust?**

The best part about Locust is that it is straightforward to set up, as it is used to test anything, which means we can try anything. It has simple documentation and can be used as basic programming skills for testing.

**What do you dislike about Locust?**

I have been using this for the past few months. The only thing that I dislike is that all items are done manually rest all is perfect.

**What problems is Locust solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So the problems solved by Locust are -
1) To run a multi-load test
2)Least program skills required
3)Helps in testing documents.

  ### 5. Easy way to load test your app

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Locust?**

Locust has the easiest way I've seen to just load your application and load test it. A simple interface gives different parameters such as number of users and it just runs.

**What do you dislike about Locust?**

Not much. There is a little bit of a learning curve if you decide to use the CLI, though, but that's because it has so many options to run.

**What problems is Locust solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Locust definitely helps figure out the app's performance when a lot of users are on it at the same time.

  ### 6. Locust for load testing Machine Learning endpoints

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Locust?**

The simple interface that allows us to run multiple load testing experiments at the same time.

**What do you dislike about Locust?**

I wish there were more extensions for APIs and SDKs. For example, if there was a built in module for connected to a AWS SageMaker endpoint that would be great!

**What problems is Locust solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We make sure our endpoints are production ready by simulating production traffic through Locust

  ### 7. Amazing tool that gives us full confidence in our infrastructure's capacity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Locust?**

Great reports. Relatively easy to setup. Super useful and easy to interpret graphs.

**What do you dislike about Locust?**

It does require a developer to configure this tool.

**What problems is Locust solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to load test our new ecommerce platform and associated hardware for sustained load and peak load.

  ### 8. Basic but Robust

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Locust?**

The clean, simple UI, telling you how many users are being simulated, along with the graph of metric timings

**What do you dislike about Locust?**

Sometimes it is a bit too simple, need more granularity occasionally

**What problems is Locust solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are load testing our APIs with Locust, preparing for hundreds of thousands of calls every few hours. I use Locust to swarm our APIs with requests

  ### 9. Good Product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Locust?**

Very easy to setup.
Best for automating test cases.

**What do you dislike about Locust?**

Maybe it needs more active rollout of new features

**What problems is Locust solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automation testing
