**What do you like best about LivePlan?**

What I love about LivePlan is how it helps me create a structured business plan, even on the first or second time, as a timid new business owner. The structured categories help me create a detailed document that can be referred to for future use and even shown to potential investors. The AI summary helps me come up with descriptions that answer every question needed concerning the functionality of my business. I reached out to support for the first time yesterday, and he resolved my concern in less than 2 minutes. He was very professional and courteous. The pricing is very affordable, and LivePlan offers generous discounts. I do feel as if I'm getting my money's worth, since this is the best business plan generator on the market and way better than what I could have come up with on my own.  I do love the interface, but it can be a bit overwhelming. Also, my PC has low RAM, so the website can freeze every now and then due to high memory usage in my browser.

**What do you dislike about LivePlan?**

I do feel there are lots of buttons and tabs on LivePlan's interface. That is what I feel makes it overwhelming and slows down my PC. Also, I do recall it being a little difficult to completely finish the business plan because I was being asked for information that was hard to obtain.

**What problems is LivePlan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LivePlan is solving issues for entrepreneurs, both new and experienced, by filling the documentation gaps needed when starting a business. The business plan is the foundation of a business. Without it, much falls into the abyss, leading to failure. This benefits me because LivePlan helps me think about things I never thought about before and consider the financial potential for the future.

I use LivePlan for school and business, and I like how user-friendly it is. The modern design and AI features are appealing. Interacting with the various sections flows easy and it's understandable, which enhances my experience. The AI function is great and I found it easy to edit the AI data as it was very useful and applicable. The initial setup of LivePlan was easy too.

**What do you dislike about LivePlan?**

I did have issues entering data for the financials. That was a bit difficult to understand. It was understanding the platform. I just needed to explore to understand.

LivePlan helps me with building and maintaining a business plan, and the AI functionality is easy to edit and useful.

**What do you like best about LivePlan?**

- well organized with a logical user-interface, which delivered relatively quick adoption and use by our team
- the *real* benefit in the point above was the accountability and focus that this helped drive, both for individuals and as a team

**What do you dislike about LivePlan?**

- financial forecasting capabilities are relatively simplistic and cannot be easily (i.e. self-) manipulated -- in their attempt to (seemingly) deliberately hide some of the "under the hood" calculations -- i.e. the equations behind how certain numbers are determined -- they've actually done the strategic equivalent of "cutting off one's nose to spite the face," because this overblown attempt to protect IP really only served to make the tool less practical/flexible/helpful to use and only served to push me right back to good ol' Excel
- pricing model needs a re-think --> pricing ramps up right as value derived tapers off dramatically... in its current form, this really is more of a project/purpose-based tool and falls well short of a more insight- and impact-based business management platform that provides -- as it can and should -- far more meaningful output over the long-haul.  As a starting point, even just the AI component could be more meaningfully deployed -- rather than coming up with flowery language to plug holes on a business-plan-page, why not pose probative questions to the business owners/leaders to help shed light on any blind spots?  I was left feeling like this tool was a lot of sizzle without much steak.
- Onboarding support was impressive at first (proactive, genuine, generous in the investment of time), but follow-through was very poor -- follow-up answers were promised on a few very specific, straight-forward questions only to never hear back
- overall, solid concept terribly executed in its current form/structure/delivery and corresponding pricing model.

**What problems is LivePlan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

See prior answers -- was used for business planning and financial forecasting purposes, but ultimately was not at all satisfied and reverted to other less-sexy but better-substance alternatives offering improved ease of use, better customization/scenario testing, simple import, export, and manipulation of data, (much) lower costs, and a far greater likelihood that I (and other users) actually *THINK* about what goes into the plan and/or forecast compared to this tool which makes it a little too easy to churn out something that sounds/looks good but may actually not make sense in reality...

This software is excellent for both beginners and experienced individuals in business. As someone who advises firms on their structure and format, the design and outputs are user-friendly and easy to assemble. This allowed me to communicate effectively with my clients and give them the knowledge they needed to better understand their business.

As a small business owner, I have found LivePlan to be a powerful tool for planning and tracking my business. However, I sometimes struggle with its lack of customization options. While LivePlan's templates are useful for general planning, they do not always cater to the unique needs and strategies of every business. This lack of flexibility can limit the plan's potential. Despite this, LivePlan is an effective tool for many other aspects of business planning and should not be overlooked.

**What problems is LivePlan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the expansive theater of business management, LivePlan comes out as a veritable dramaturge—scribing your enterprise’s story with such sharpness and conciseness that quite candidly they are indispensable. It’s a tool which in its essence solves the impasse of ambiguity. It provides you clear and concise roadmap for your business plotting course from those early embryonic stages of yours to the peak potentials of yours).

LivePlan you see is the antidote to that chaos of business planning. It’s really just a bulwark against the storm of uncertainty and becomes sort of your lighthouse guiding you through the fog of financial forecasting. What LivePlan does for you is distill all that vision down into an actual plan complete with let’s call them financial projections, budgeting and performance tracking.

Also, it’s a tool that benefits your business by delivering a clear line of sight to your goals. It allows you to track your progress, adjust your course as necessary and ensure every decision you make is congruent with the overarching objectives. One page pitch deck is eye-catching. While preparing a business plan, there are relevant existing templates related to one's niche that makes the process seamless. Now when it comes to forecasting, far better than Excel as there is no need to write formulas.

**What do you dislike about LivePlan?**

While LivePlan connects with QuickBooks and Xero, they are irrelevant for users like us from India. It will help if Zoho and Tally too connect.

Quite often as founder of a startup, I need to submit one-page pitch deck or elaborate business plan. LivePlan does this nicely.

Using LivePlan is easy and there is so much assistance available. There are examples, templates, and videos explaining what to write. You can go in and edit at any time. It does the math for you. It creates graphs and charts. It is amazing.

It does not have an auto spell check integrated within it. I have found so many misspellings in my plan when looking at it in other forms or using the information as a reference for applications or other things.

It is helping me to build the foundation that I should have started with in my business. It is helping me build a road map to my business success by writing everything in a way that I can visualized my goals and display them to others.

Hike the ease of the platform. The templates help you through the components you need for your business plan. You don't have to decide which components you need. You also dont have use every section. This is helpful for new solopreneurs and business owners. I've even used the platform to help pitch strategies to prospects and clients.

It would have been great to have a mobile app or mobile friendly site to complete the plans online over mobile devices. Also, it would be helpful to have a course that can take someone through the essentials in completing their business plan.

I didn't have a business plan and using Liveplan helped give me an easy tool to build a strong business plan for myself and clients. My clients have gone on to enhance their plans and grow their businesses.

Easy to use, easy to navigate through. Some of the questions I hadn't even thought of before, so I felt like I was putting together a complete plan.

I can't think of any downsides to this product.

I didn't have any experience putting together a business plan and I didn't want to pay a ton to have someone else develop one for me. Its ease of use really, which turns out to be something quite surprising regarding the use of this application, the fact that it allows us to simplify the way in which we carry out our business plans in a much simpler and easier way is perfect for me to design the strategies of my businesses and start with new ideas in a much more practical way, the fact that its main dashboard shows me the information in a fairly complete and summarized way at the same time is perfect for me to streamline the entire decision-making process in a much more practical way, its ease of configuration and use is perfect for me and my business, since we can design all our plans and strategies in a much simpler, simpler and more efficient way.

The integration with Xero and QBO that lets you compare your forecast and estimate to actual once you get going. It's fairly simple to creates a three-way forecast and it lets you create different scenarios.

The forecasting engine is good, but simple and limited for more complex business models. 

**Recommendations to others considering LivePlan:**

If you are a start up looking to do a great looking business plan that doesn't leave any rock unturned, Liveplan is great. If you are an established company that's looking at cashflow forecasting and custom KPI, you might need something more tailored.

Easy forecast that covers the basics and help you figure out if a venture can float. Easy to draft business plan with lots of prompts and examples.

Promises you big time. Even looks like they have a legitimate presence in Australia which will prove wrong later.

very limited scope and restricted input space. Once signed in you cannot cancel this subscription and even if you do try and cancel online, it looks like that you have successfully unsubscribed but they will still keep charging you, God knows till what.

**What do you like best about LivePlan?**

The ability to customize every single part of the business plan; being able to add categories outside of what is provided in the template. I used this with a group of people, and it worked well for the collaboration aspect.

**What do you dislike about LivePlan?**

Something very minor that I disliked was that everything that was being worked on by someone other than myself did not update in real time. I could see my own stuff update in real time, but for my team members, I had to wait for them to save the changes they were working on and refresh my own screen.

**Recommendations to others considering LivePlan:**

If you’re familiar with writing a business plan and financial forecasting, this may be unnecessary for you. I do believe everyone could learn something, or some trick when using this software.

I solved being able to write a business plan. As this was a new company, my team and I really had no idea where or how to begin before LivePlan. It made us realize that some aspects of the business needed to be changed before launching, and it helped us really hone and in and develop every single part of our business plan.

Its thorough but very easy to use. Plus fully integrated financial graph capability

Is a little pricey, but still worth it. You may find a few others that are cheaper, but this is a great program and worth the price. Only drawback is that it has to be renewed annually.

**Recommendations to others considering LivePlan:**

You can't go wrong with this application as it is very easy to use and quite robust. Plus it is also very easy to print out and save as a graphically appealing presentation.

**What do you like best about LivePlan?**

it allows me to focus on the structure and all the important things that need to be included but also kept short and easy to read and understand. Having the prompts in each section helps me stay on task. I really like how the forecasting auto-populates based on data in the various sections. its easy to keep tabs on everything and see how your business looks on paper. 

**What do you dislike about LivePlan?**

Sometimes it doesn't have enough options in the forecasting area to include a projected revenue or volume increase by a percentage month over month. Being able to work in commissioned employees seamlessly when they make a percentage of sales in 1 specific area like over sales reps a manager manages. Currently, it seems the only way to do this is manually doing the calculations and inputting them or using an entire revenue stream, which doesn't work in all situations. 

**Recommendations to others considering LivePlan:**

If you have a business you are serious about and need to rely on a properly formulated and thorough plan for funding or to see what is realistic for your business, then I recommend using this software. if nothing else it will help you focus on whta is important and getting things done. if you lack the skills in one area, either writing or the numbers side, Live Plan will help you understand and complete the parts you do not feel the most comfortable about doing yourself.

Creating a business plan to present to the US Government to obtain E-2 Visa status for our company.
LivePlan helps me focus on researching the right areas and working on specific areas in my business in order to get the essential material in the plan and formatted clearly.

It is a good tool to use not just for writing out your business plan, but also can serve as a guideline for what every business plan is required to have.

**What do you like best about LivePlan?**

The ease.  I had to start creating projections for the funding process and was dreading it.  I found this on a Saturday morning and by early afternoon I had yearly/monthly numbers for 5 years P&L, Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cashflow.  Keep in mind this included time getting used to the software and answering questions outside of the software itself (ie units sold per month).

But these weren't just useless numbers, they were based on results of answering questions about the business.  And they did a wonderful job making it simple.  For example, you add a new product, the revenue type (one time, recurring, unit, etc), units sold by month, price and churn.  And because you won't get it right the first time, it makes adjusting the estimated units by month easy.

Similar entry for all your expenses such as employees (by department/position/start date/salary) and other expenses.  

So now that you've entered all this - it then automatically becomes available in your business plan.  The business plan is easy too as they put all the typical sections (problem, market size, team, etc) in there but it's easily customizable as well.

And finally, you can invite people to edit or just view it as I've done for investors.  So investors groups would like you to put your info into their own "room", but I've just given them access here so that I don't have to keep multiple versions up to date.

I tell every startup I meet and all the local startup agencies to have their startups use it too.

This is minor as I've only had to do it once, but I'd like to see Excel output which was requested by my investors.  But they do Word export which I then cut/paste the tables easily into Excel.

forecasting and financial part was the best part of the plan. it simply explains everything and you only need to put the number in tables. The rest is easy! the software will provide you with all the tables and figure and charts!
Also, the software provide some free templates which are really helpful. 

**What do you dislike about LivePlan?**

When entering numbers for financial part, it is not tailored based on the countries and the related taxes for that specific country. so, I had to calculate separately, the tax and national insurances (in the UK)  and draw a another table for that.

**What do you like best about LivePlan?**

We previously used a desktop based software package and moved to LivePlan in December of 2017. We tried several different products, but LivePlan was by far the easiest and checked the most boxes. QuickBooks sync: check - Understands deferred revenue: check - affordable: check. Manual override stuff to make it fit your needs: check.

**What do you dislike about LivePlan?**

While the system understands deferred revenue, it doesn't really understand things like annual vs monthly.  The tool lets you hand enter any number, so we got around this.

It only understands deferred revenue going forward that it calculates - no place for me to just say "I already have this much for this revenue stream".

It could have been easier for me to enter data from before the plan started.  We only did one year back and kind of fudged it to get the deferred revenue to "catchup" to reality.

You are able to input your data and it tells you your expense and expense ratio.

**What do you dislike about LivePlan?**

It isn’t set up for insurance sales where you earn new business commission and then renewal commission at a reduced rate. It is set up more for a coffee shop where you earn so much per item each time.

I like the fact that LivePlan can be directly linked to my QuickBooks Online business account so that real numbers can be integrated into the business plan to compare to budget and sales projections.
