Liferay DXP’s biggest strength is its flexibility. With fragments, FreeMarker templates, client extensions, and headless APIs, we can customize the UI and integrations without touching the core. Objects and Site Initializer make it quick to set up new modules and sites, and role-based permissions, workflows, and multilingual support come out of the box, which suits enterprise and government portals well. The client extension approach also makes upgrades much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The learning curve is steep for beginners, since OSGi, modules, and deployment concepts take time to understand. Documentation sometimes lags behind the latest versions, and the move from 7.4 to the newer quarterly releases brings behavior changes in some features. Local setup and build times can feel heavy, and debugging custom code can get complex. Still, the long-term benefits outweigh these drawbacks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
