## About LaunchDarkly
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Oakland, California, LaunchDarkly serves over thousands of enterprises, including a quarter of the Fortune 500. LaunchDarkly is the runtime control platform for the AI era, trusted by software teams to control AI-generated code and AI agents in production at any scale. The LaunchDarkly platform delivers runtime control through two solutions: CodeControl and AgentControl. CodeControl helps teams ship AI-generated code confidently. With CodeControl, teams can observe production behavior, make changes in real time, and limit exposure based on actual impact. Through a combination of industry-leading feature flags, progressive rollouts, real-time observability, experimentation, and automatic recovery, LaunchDarkly gives organizations the ability to move at AI speed without giving up control. AgentControl helps teams keep AI agents in check in production, blocking bad behavior and steering responses in real time. Teams can configure prompts and models before launch, monitor and observe live performance and behavior, and automatically take action—without redeploying. When agents make curious decisions, or when small prompt or model changes cause big issues, AgentControl detects and corrects them as they happen. With runtime control across code and agents, LaunchDarkly helps enable teams to ship AI-built software with confidence, govern agent behavior in production, optimize AI performance and cost, build self-healing systems, and experiment continuously. The result is faster release velocity, lower production risk, and the ability to continuously adapt software and AI systems without slowing down to stay safer.

## LaunchDarkly Reviews
  ### 1. It’s a great tool to maintain release versions and while releasing a new features to early adopters.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The best thing about launch darkly is -
1. Ease of integration of the Launch darkly feature with code, since we have first party NuGet and SDK.
2. Changes are reflected instantly once published, didn't observed any lag which publishing the changes.
3. Segregation of user using segments, can have multiple segments in a LD flag.
4. Ability to create custom rules.
5. Easily implemented via DevOps pipelines.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The things which can be improved are -
1. Reading and editing the users in a segment or flag.
2. Its difficult to add users in a big segment when the users are GUID's, since the search functionality does not work properly and gives multiple suggestion in GUID's.
3. The settings and admin tabs can be made more cleaner and less chaotic.
4. Support to read segments using LDClient should be added in C# NuGet, right now only API support is provided.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Maintaining release versions across different environments and ease of deployment by switching the release versions.
2. Releasing new features version to early adopters by maintaining cohorts using segments.

Ease to use and configure falgs , which helps to enable features in runtime.
Tracks history which helps in debug any issues.
Easy to integrate.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

UX could be improved,
Sometimes there could be lot of rules for given flag which could get confusing.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we can deploy the features behind the LD flag even when some of the dependent serivce are not deployed .
This helps in testing the serivce in isolation

  ### 3. LaunchDarkly is not very user friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mayur K. | Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Each config value has a name. Easy to understand the config name.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Hard to create config dependency. No easy way to select set of configs.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sevring the configurations to my app.

  ### 4. Fast and powerful feature flaging platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Great SDK support for mobile and power configuration options for us to easily target a variety of users. The web console is fast and its nice to have livestreams of data as well as a debug console

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The cost per seat is not cheap and so we have to agressively limit who has access to the platform.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing feature rollouts across many customers and platforms reliably.

  ### 5. LD helps me to manage my feature flags

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Piyush P. | Software Development Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

1) Alows me to create flags that best suits my needs
2) Able to manage all flags of a team
3) Nice UI
4) Gives me the history of changes
5) Shows me how many times the flag was evaluated

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Would prefer integrations with other commonly used applications like slack, opsgenie etc

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps manage all feature flags with the following features ( Listed in the previos page )

  ### 6. Simple, easy and scaleable configuration management for products

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The ease of using and plugging LaunchDarkly into existing applications is just wonderful.

The integrations are seamless and consistent, even at scale. Almost zero downtimes make this a good choice for configuration management at scale.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The new UI interface is buggy and needs a lot of improvements before being shipped to users.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Launch darkly allows us to easily gate our features and A/B test them before 100% rollout.

  ### 7. Easy feature rollout, but a bit complex current status view.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The ease of turning features on by customizing the targeting. (LaunchDarkly allows to add custom identifiers, which makes it easy to group targets while turning features on or off).

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I would have loved to see sort of a panel that shows the status of a flag across all enviroments. For example, we have 4 enviroments and It would be great if I was able to see if targeting is on or off for each env without switching envs and checking manually.
Right now, I dislike switching envs back and fourth to understand the current state of the flag.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LaunchDarkly allows us to deploy features that are not yet ready, and open them to our clients only when they are.
It also helps us during incidents but allowing us to turn features off without the need for a rollback or a re-deploy.

  ### 8. LaunchDarkly is cool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankit G. | SDE, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Everything, the flags, multiple modules etc

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Nothing as such, the UI can be more optimised.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It enables us to do AB testing and feature management in Prod

  ### 9. Gold Standard!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

I enjoy LaunchDarkly a lot. It feels so consistent. If there is ever an issue, it is mainly on my own configuration. Integration is easy and consistent.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I would love more configuration to notify in slack when a feature flag goes stale, along with this, the UI can sometimes be confusing when looking at a specific flag and trying to understand the rules all together if I am not familiar. Along with this, sometimes it is ahrd to find in code, so I would love links from the flags to github.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing for getting code into the world and mitigating its risk.

  ### 10. Good tool to manage configs

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gaurav A. | Senior software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Easy apporaval process and ease of making change

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

difficult to keep these config in sync with code configs

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its helps in instanly apply configs changes in prod

  ### 11. Using LD a lot for configuratuon purposes

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

It is very useful to create simple configurations quickly based on a lot of variations.
Creating rules is somewhat simple and convenient

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Managing a lot if rules is not that easy, it becomes very hard when I have more than 3 variations in a single flag
I would like to be able to manage one flag based on specific criteria easier.
For example be able to manage flag per client,l as high level, and then create rules separately under this specific client.
Be able to view all flag values per condition (for example, what will be all the values for client)
Client connection to LD should be more stable

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Configuration for different clients abd environments

  ### 12. Product Manager Perspective

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

As a PM, I LOVE that our team can release new work behind feature flags. It is helpful for targeted releases and for rolling things back (when needed). We have also LaunchDarkly to offer customizations for strategic accounts with little/no code, confirming the value before building out full-featured preference settings. We also use A/B testing to see which icons/messages resonate most with our users.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

There is nothing I dislike about LaunchDarkly.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use LaunchDarkly to manage features - I love that we can release something in a production environment but only to QA/Demo accounts before turning it on for our customers.

**Official Response from Tia Wucher:**

> It's great to hear that LaunchDarkly has provided value by allowing for targeted releases, customizations, and A/B testing without the need for extensive coding. We appreciate your feedback!

  ### 13. Seamless feature releases made easy with LaunchDarkly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

What I like best about LaunchDarkly is its simplicity and effectiveness in managing feature releases. With LaunchDarkly, implementing feature flags and managing feature rollouts becomes incredibly straightforward.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The new UX - I am working with LD for a few years and I got used to the old UX.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. LaunchDarkly solves the problem of selectively releasing features for internal testing. With LaunchDarkly, we can easily restrict access to new features, allowing only internal teams to test them before rolling them out to all users.
2. LaunchDarkly facilitates gradual feature releases. This means we can open a feature to a small subset of users first, gradually expanding access to all users. This approach allows us to carefully monitor the impact of new features and ensure a smooth rollout for all users.

  ### 14. Effective, fun and convenient to work with LD

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The convenience of viewing and simplicity, without too many complications, you can tell from the main page which feature flags serve true/false and the statistics and the ease of operation.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Many times I want to get a snapshot of a certain feature (which can include several feature flags or even different accounts under LD) and apart from manually going through each of the feature flags, I don't have a convenient way to do it.

So both in terms of viewing and in terms of control, I would be happy to unify the number of feature flags under the same "group" for viewing/control.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The danger of changing a code that many rely on separately without testing it gradually/possibility to turn it off if something happens.

LD meets exactly this need.

  ### 15. A must have solution for a panic scenario

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kushagra G. | Software developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The ability to change configs on the fly

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The version bumps recently caused an outage in my organisation

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chaning the config on the runtime

  ### 16. Good enough

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

It get the job done and let's us update things live in production. A recent example was where we added the ability to change what region of a service we hit due to downtime on their end without having to do a deploy. I want to see us make better use of A/B testing and similar features in the future. I think we will find even more value there.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The biggest is that it seems to have stability issues. We have a Slack channel the updates as our services encounter and recover from issues and I see LaunchDarkly more often than most other services we use.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to test and release features independant of doing deploys. It also lets us update configuration without doing deploys.

  ### 17. The premier product in Feature releasing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benji P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Before lunch, Stockley we had an in-house solution which required making calls to a server and changing data via HTTP post calls. LaunchDarkly quickly solved this issue by making a straightforward approach to our feature flagging solution. Furthermore, they add release support and new features very frequently.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

How disconnected the environments are I wish that there was an ace of use to set up a feature flag initially with preloaded features such as a template

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps an CI/CD pipeline and releasing directly to the client without affecting any existing work

  ### 18. Loved it.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Makes feature rollouts seamless. Ability to segment users for A/B testing and gradual rollouts greatly reduces deployment risk.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Price is a bit steep for smaller teams, UI could me more intuitive for users unfamiliar with feature management tools, making the initial setup somewhat challenging.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prevents major disruptions by enabling rapid rollbacks if issues arise, without redeploying code. For users, it provides the benefit of safer releases, faster iteration cycles, and better user experience through controlled rollouts and A/B testing. This means that teams can continuously deliver improvements with less risk, enhancing both development agility and product quality.

  ### 19. Great tool for a non-techie

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

New to the platform, non-techie, and appreciate the simplicity of it. It allowed me control of my apps without depending on tech team only.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Yet to come across a con. It did seem more complex than it actually is.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to control rollout of features to users independently, and thus be more confident in managing it directly.

  ### 20. Easy to use, functionality works as it should. UI could do some work.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

It does what it is supposed to do very well. Easy to set up and easy to configure (once live).

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The UI isn't very intuitive. For instance, it's not immediately clear to me (I had to ask my colleague) that the flag evaluation rule works in an `if, else if...` manner. I didn't know this until I was told.

Secondly, when configuring flag rules, I wish there was a way for me to export my config (maybe into a csv or something). For example, I might have a rule that says: "if attribute=(a,b,c,d,e,f,g) then Y)". I wish there is a way to just get "a,b,c..." without having to inspect the page. Maybe there is though but I just did not know.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows me to configure and change things in production.

  ### 21. LaunchDarkly Makes Feature Flags Very Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly is very simple to use. The UI is intuitive and SDKs are simple and easy to test as well. LaunchDarkly is relied on heavily for our phased rollouts and anytime we're looking to roll out a new feature. LaunchDarkly helps us carry out these operations in a safe manner and also provides analytics to see how often certain variations are being evaluated

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I can't think of any downsides right now 😅

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LaunchDarkly solves 2 problems for us

Phased Rollouts - LaunchDarkly allows us to bucket certain clusters easily in order to roll out to them in a phased approach

Releasing New Features - LaunchDarkly allows us to roll out to a small number of customers and slowly ramps up in a safe manner.

  ### 22. Break release bottlenecks with LaunchDarkly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brad R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Feature flags with fine grained context controls help us experiment with new logic and avoid bottlenecks in our release cadence. We use contexts for tracked assets, devices, users, and organisations allowing us to rapidly run experiments.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Expensive per seat, but worth the cost especially for small teams. The LD proxy relay for backend support can take some time to launch and configure.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LaunchDarkly allows us to continuously release with features in development behind flags. This streamlines our team's development workflow and allows us to incrementally release new features to our user base and mitigate risks associated with a big bang rollout. We also use it for running experiments leveraging contexts. We have an IoT product and the flexibility to use contexts beyond users lets us apply conditional logic at a device or asset level.

  ### 23. Great Platform for Config Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Launch Darkly provides a succint UI for Config Management with various features such as multiple SDKs, variations and environments also the Relay Proxy feature helps reduce network cost

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The feature set is a bit vast so it gets overwhelming in the begininning

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Launch darkly helps manage business configs for the relevant service domains and allows feature rollouts

  ### 24. Easy, intuitive, fast

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The Launch platform is very intutivie and user friendly.
We use it to have better control of our production environment, and are way more comfortable to deploy changes when we implemented behind feature flag.

The JS SDK is robust and pretty easy to integrate. the documentation is fairly good and they provide some good best practices.

We use the main functionality of feature enabling and disabling by session context, we are using it daily.
Great visibility with slack integration, we see the changes clearly which is very comfortable.

We did not need to contant customer support since the documentation is clear and comprehensive.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Launch darkly cost is significant, we have limited number of seats.
Stability can be improved.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Production stability.
Easy feature rollout and rollback.

  ### 25. Important Tool for Engineers

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly has made development process easier. Its feature flagging capabilities allow us to deploy code without worrying about immediate releases. The ability to instantly toggle features on or off has greatly reduced our risk during launches.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

One downside of LaunchDarkly is that UI changes of the application can occur abruptly.

Managing a large number of flags can become cumbersome, making it harder to maintain clean.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing for ease of testing in production and deploying and rolling out new features to production much easier. Also being able to turn off flags.
A/B testing capabilities

  ### 26. Best product for A/B testing and feature flags

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Setting up flags on different environments, Setting up variations, clear usage indicators.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The difference between default value and off variation is a bit confusing at times.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LD helps control a feature rollout and being able to rollback by just turning a switch. Combined with analytics, it helps with A/B test different variations of a flow.

**Official Response from Tia Wucher:**

> We're thrilled to hear that LaunchDarkly is helping you with feature rollout control and A/B testing. Your feedback about the confusion between default value and off variation is valuable, and we will strive to enhance the clarity of these aspects for a better user experience.

  ### 27. As a Platform Engineer, I see the capabilities of launch darkly.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mehrdad P. | Staff Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The sequential deiscion making is the best option. The Segementations is very well designed. The idea of spilitting feature Flags for different projects is really great as well.

The Youtube training are very powerful.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The ui is laggy and takes a bit of time to load.

So one thing I can give a feedback is when we like to make a Rule then there is no `equal` operator. We had to use `is one of` as a replacement.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hiding new features also continuos delivery puposes.

  ### 28. Seems to work fine mostly

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

It works for our use cases and gives the ability to dial up features and view a history of configuration. Barely have to think about it once it's integrated.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Rare outages and lack of fallback conditions.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Just an easy way to turn new features on and off to reduce service outages or regressions.

  ### 29. Excellent and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LD has made rolling out to varying customers quick and easy while lowering the time to recover in the event of issues. It has been very easy to integrate into our services. Managing flags and segments is straight forward and they offer tons of analytics to understand the state of the flags.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

LD does not make it easy to support integers as strings when applying targeting rules. It's not common knowledge you have to copy a letter at the start of the list to change the type. The UI often hangs or fails when working with large amounts of targets in segments.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our business had an in-house feature flag system that offered On/Off support and some targeting. LaunchDarkly allows us to transition away and have smarter rollout plans through segment targeting or percent rollouts. This also decreases risk by allowing us to try new features out on customers in beta programs, etc.

  ### 30. Easy and quick

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

UI is clean and easy to understand. Very searchable and adaptable.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I have no negative feedback on the tool itself but it is important to be mindful in the designs used to prevent confusion.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rapid deployment on new features or feature modifications without heavy code rebuild in our configuration UI.

**Official Response from Tia Wucher:**

* Intuitive UX
* Versioning capabilities
* Variants support
* Code support, and ability to codify the workflow
* Cache/Relay support, Cost Effective for Large scale usecases
* Developer friendly

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

* Experimentation support could be improved and it can evolve as the single platform for all feature rollouts.
* Domain specific UX and approval workflows could be supported, this could extend it to non dev community too.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Feature Management for Hotstar and CD support across our apps. Experimentation would be a great addition, though it's early days.

  ### 32. Easy, Fast and Effective!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Managing configurations across environments is straightforward with LD. It reduces manual effort and simplifies future maintenance.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The new UI is counterproductive, so I had to switch back to the legacy version.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rolling out features in phases.
A/B experimentation.
Reduce the mitigation time significantly incase of issues.
Cross-Environment Configurations setups.

  ### 33. Quick way to enable software in Production

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly offers a streamlined solution for managing feature flags, empowering teams to toggle features with remarkable speed and precision. With just a few clicks, we can seamlessly turn features on and off in real-time, eliminating the need for lengthy deployment cycles and minimizing downtime.

This rapid iteration capability has transformed our development process, enabling us to iterate and innovate at an unprecedented pace. LaunchDarkly's intuitive interface and comprehensive feature set provide everything we need to effectively control our feature releases and monitor their impact on user behavior.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I find Launchdarkly frustrating at times due to occasional reliability issues on the website with the state of a flag. There have been instances where I've needed to refresh the page multiple times to ensure I have the current state of a flag, which disrupts my workflow and diminishes the overall user experience.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Launchdarkly solves the problem of wanting to try something in Production but not wanting the potential long downtime if things go wrong and need to be rolled back

  ### 34. A satisfying product .

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

It can achieve config dynamic hotloading, AB experiment and also canary rollout which is very useful in real work.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

For now don't think there's anything unsatisfy me since it basically suffice all the requirement I have.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Feature flag management
- AB experiment
- Feature flag canary rollout

  ### 35. An excellent upgrade

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The new UI is very easy to use, a great upgrade on the previous iteration.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I would like the ability to edit multiple environments at the same time.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provide specific features to select individuals, enabling a gradual deployment of these features, with the capability to deactivate them as required.

  ### 36. Easy to use, integrate

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prince Rachit S. | Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The UI is really good, I can order the values/keys and visualize it. There is virtually no latency.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Some parts of the documentation is excessively verbose

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use LD heavily for A/B testing in production env. It also makes it easy to short circuit logic with flag values.

  ### 37. Launch Darkly provides with real-time control over feature release but requires careful management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

- Ease of adding new variation
- Real time changes to feature flags

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

- learning curve is huge for new onboarding

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Launch darjly neatly provides for all configuration against a project like all environments that can be adjusted for their values. The new UI is super clean

  ### 38. Easy to use, full fledged system that works across tech stacks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rafa F. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

It is reliable; the client frameworks have efficient caches built in and as a developer, I dont have to worry if adding a feature flag will have a performance impact.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Obviously it is a cost that could be solved with an open source solution. But when your scale is so large that managing a feature flag system is a cost in itself, it makes sense to consider the already built solution.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managining features flags, gradual rollouts, etc.

  ### 39. Feature Packed and Easy to Use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly has always been easy to integrate into our code and comes with powerful features that makes it effortless for us to roll out new features. Their SDKs make implimentation a breeze and their customer support is always helfpul whenever we have an issue.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

As the product grows, the admin interface gets a bit more complex. LaunchDarkly has a lot fo features so the adnim interface needs a lot of options.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We replaced Google Optimize with LaunchDarkly for AB testing and it's been smooth. We also hide new features behind feature flags until they're ready to go live. This allow our code to be in production, even when it's incomplete. Once the feature is completed, we enable the feature flag and everything is live.

  ### 40. Great tool for feature flagging - both on frontend and backend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

We can create as many environments as we want, and can see live when flag evaluations are happening.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Switching between projects is problematic and the website does not remember which project I was last on.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Feature flagging, exposing functionalities selectively to customers and emergency rollback of features.

**Official Response from Tia Wucher:**

> We're thrilled to hear that you are benefiting from LaunchDarkly's feature flagging capabilities and the ability to selectively expose functionalities to customers. We understand the frustration with switching between projects, and we are actively working on improving the user experience in this area.

  ### 41. Software Engineerings Manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pankti D. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

We put all our work under a feature flag so we can slowly roll it out to our customers. We love that we can turn it on per user, company, country, and environment. We can also filter the flags per tag. The UI is easy to use and we can also implement it through the CLI.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I know there are Jira integrations with LaunchDarkly, and I would like to see a way that we can connect each work/feature to the flag and view those details in the LaunchDarkly flag itself.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our deployment takes a log time, adding our work under a feature flag reduces customer impact when there are bugs introduced in production.

  ### 42. Easy feature management - Launchdarkly is a must

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

I have been using LaunchDarkly for about 3 years already.
It allows me to be confident with my work since i'm able to easily controll every feature regardless of a deployment.
LaunchDarkly also helped me alot during incidents, where we could disable or enable specific features easily. Another thing to note is that LaunchDarkly support are superb! We had to ask for their assistance once during an incident, and it was great.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

One thing that is missing is a dashboard where I could view the status of a specific feature flag in all enviroments. It would help managing releases using feature-flags.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LaunchDarkly allows us to 'release' features to production, and 'open' them only to certin users or groups. this allows us to make sure nothing fails on production, and if it fails, we can immidiatly turn off the flag.
Another thing is that using LaunchDarkly we can 'hide' features untill they are ready, and we don't have to wait for a deployment to enable or disable features!

  ### 43. Great product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The simplicity of the UX is amazing, it's very easy to launch through.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I wish it were easier to define recipients, I bet the same patterns repeat all the time, but it's a very manual process.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very straightforward UX based system to launch new features

  ### 44. LaunchDarkly is the most mature feature flag management software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vibhav K. | Senior Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Easily allows me to do everything related to creating and managing feature flags.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The UI can be a little easier to use, especially when changing environments

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LaunchDarkly is now trying to reinvent how services are deployed and rolled back using their bug detection platform which is really cool. It will benefit all companies discover bugs before their customer base does -- it is called release guardian!

  ### 45. LaunchDarkly is among the best config release management.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Support for different programming languages, ease of implemenation and handling at scale, with an excellent customer support.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

Product roadmap takes a long time to come to production.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We want to release features behind a config flag and LaunchDarkly helps us in effectively achiving that.

  ### 46. Interesting tool for A/B testing amd feature flagging

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sven B. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The thing I like the most is flexibility with feature flagging, you can set up different ways of targeting no matter the use case, and there are also automated ab testing features!

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

I don't have something special that I don't like, it's a good tool taht fullfils the purpose, it's on sou whether you will leverage all the options they offer.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have various environments and launch darkly helps us manage all of them quite easily!

  ### 47. LaunchDarkly is the best app to maintain feature flags

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

LaunchDarkly provides an Intuitive interface and precise targeting.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

One downside is the automatic renaming of the feature flag key when you change its name. This can lead to potential bugs if it's missed. It would be great if there was an option to change the display name without altering the underlying key value.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LaunchDarkly is making managements of feature flags easier for our team, using which we can release products to a smaller population of people first for better perspective.

  ### 48. As a Product Manager I recommend using LaunchDarkly.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

The platform offers a range of features that significantly contribute to our business, examples:
- Technology migration a crucial aspect for those transitioning to cloud-native applications. This feature ensures a seamless migration process, aligning with the evolving needs of modern software development.
- Release Guardian, its automatic rollback capabilities effectively reduce Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR), enhancing system stability and minimizing downtime during the release process.
- Integrations with popular collaboration tools like Slack and GitHub provide enhanced visibility into feature flag statuses
- Custom role concept, offering unparalleled flexibility in permission management.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

One notable limitation of LaunchDarkly is the absence of a straightforward option for administrators to monitor team utilization effectively. For instance, in scenarios where projects are organized per product, quickly identifying active services on production can be challenging.

Additionally, there have been concerns raised about the onboarding process. Some teams have reported that obtaining the required certificate can be time-consuming.

Nevertheless, LaunchDarkly addresses these challenges by enhancing the user experience through initiatives like Engineering Insights and tech talks. Teams have the opportunity to sign up for these sessions to acquire the necessary information and insights to overcome obstacles in both the platform utilization and onboarding processes.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Launching new features to an informed and prepared customer base, often through programs like Early Access Programs (EAP), is a key practice. This approach mitigates risks associated with new releases by concealing changes under feature flags, allowing for seamless deactivation without the need for redeployment. Additionally, transitioning to multi-tenancy is facilitated by tools such as Tap Compare, coupled with the flexibility to assign distinct feature flag values.

  ### 49. Easy to integrate, reliable and very flexible

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

- The mobile SDK was easy to setup and integrate with
- Test and Production environments
- Support for many kinds of value types
- Easy to navigate dashboard
- Very helpful technical support when needed

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

To be honest there isn't anything that I can think of!

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to serve multiple variations of feature flag values based on specific user contexts. Previously we hosted a XML file which contained all of our mobile apps remote configurations which was always a pain to work with, migrating over to Launch Darkly has been a dream. We now are much more flexible in being able to update and add feature flags on the fly.

  ### 50. Effective feature flagging and experimentation tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Avinash C. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2024

**What do you like best about LaunchDarkly?**

Easy to use, enables controlled feature rollouts and experimentation.

**What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly?**

The UI breaks when manually targeting over 10k users.

**What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LaunchDarkly allows us to safely release new features, run experiments, and take risks without impacting the user experience, which speeds up decision-making and iterations.
