I needed to find where a device was connected to our network. In the past this was a manual query to switches and following the uplink list until we found the right port. LanTopoLog was quick to query all the managed switches and then a mac search to find the source.

The licensing is tied to 3 switches. If you replace all 3 of those switches you need to buy a new license. I guess keeping an old switch connected to the network would work..... but really. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
