1. Currently Dev portal is really mature because of we can customize many of things.

Kong is full featured and really easy to setup API Gateway, featured as a leader in the Gartner magic quadrant.

Out of the box it has a lot of plugins centred in security, rate limiting, validations, and much more. It also supports custom plugins.

Kong is also a cloud native product, that works really well in containerized environments such as Kubernetes, and runs really well under load on low resources, such as low CPU and RAM.

The software is very easy to implement. We use docker on a linux VM. The Kong API gateway is easily configurable for defining services and routes. We take advantage of both basic authorization and key authorization for our security needs. The API gateway is used for both production and non-production environments. We have had some needs for support. We have found that customer support is quick in responding to tickets to help us resolve the issue or question. Kong is a very high-performance opensource API Gateway particularly suitable for Cloud Native and DevOps Oriented architectures, it is suitable for installation on different architectures both in on-premise, cloud and hybrid modes. It is a complete product also includes Insomnia as an API Test and Designer tool and also, in the enterprise version, a Developer Portal also oriented towards IaC and the development of APIs from an API First perspective.

The hybrid installation via Kong Konnect is very quick and powerful and allows you to outsource all management except for the dataplanes which are installed on-premise and managed remotely. The on-premise version is easy to install. It can eb configured both via web interface and through a declarative configuration as well. In terms of support, the Enterprise version offers very fast and efficient support.

Although it offers a rich set of plugins that easily integrates with tools like Prometeus, DataDog, Zipkin lacks an Analytics & Monitoring API tool. There is no management of Monteziation API.

A very powerful orchestrator to manage lots of API products and leveraging the full power of API Gateway, Service Mesh, Kubernetes and other related tools, easily m,anaged from a nice web UI.
