"Powerful, Cost-Effective EDR with Deep Detection and Centralized Control"

5/5

What do you like best about Kaspersky Next Optimum?

Kaspersky Next EDR Optimum stands out as one of the most compelling endpoint security solutions for small and mid-sized businesses. After deploying it across our organisation, it’s easy to see why it has earned consistent recognition in the EDR space. The detection depth is impressive. Kaspersky’s advanced disinfection technology goes a step further by actively removing fileless malware and persistent startup threats, rather than only flagging them. We use the platform across all endpoints, servers, and cloud workloads, and the single centralised console reduces operational overhead for our small security team. Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is another standout capability. When we need to understand how a breach or incident originated, Kaspersky’s visual process tree and drill-down investigation graph make it practical to trace attack chains without requiring deep forensic expertise. The endpoint control features also add meaningful compliance value. Having application control (including allow-listing and execution prevention) and USB blocking centralised within the unified control console makes Kaspersky not just an EDR tool, but a more comprehensive endpoint governance platform.

Kaspersky also offers some of the most comprehensive controls over how and where our data is processed. This was recently confirmed by an independent transparency study by WKO and AV-Comparatives.

Resource efficiency in typical operation is well managed. Agents running the KES module sit at roughly 200MB of memory usage under normal conditions, which feels competitive for a solution with this level of feature depth. Cost-effectiveness relative to comparable OEMs is also notable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kaspersky Next Optimum?

While the everyday agent footprint is efficient, the advanced disinfection module is noticeably resource-heavy when it’s active. During deep remediation cycles, endpoint performance can degrade enough that affected users should ideally pause their work. Luckily, it isn’t needed very often. What problems is Kaspersky Next Optimum solving and how is that benefiting you?

It gives us more than basic endpoint security. It genuinely delivers enterprise-grade endpoint detection and response capabilities, without the operational complexity or the high cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
